I am facing DL380 gen 7 os install error.

os is trying to install 2012R2, and the hp community is trying to answer various solutions, but the solution is not working well.

There are too many parts that I do not know, so it seems that the part where I can't respond correctly to the measures that give an answer makes it difficult to solve the problem.

I want to install os on DL380 gen 7
I just want to try the installation by disabling the raid controller.

If you delete all the raids, the hard disk will not be visible during the os installation phase

After configuring the raid, if you proceed with the installation

There is no Windows on this disk. The hardware of this computer cannot boot from this disk. Make sure you have enabled the disk's controller in your computer's BIOS.

I get this error message.

I encountered an error while installing the OS of the DL380 gen7, and I saw a message asking to change the mode to AHCI.

I can't find the options introduced in gen8~10.

There are some stories that gen7 does not support AHCI mode, so I would like to know if it is possible or how to change it if possible.

So I am running CentOS 8.2.2004 Core (latest current release) on my G7's and all is swell, but I was wondering if I would be able to access additional monitoring if I installed the pertaining SEP packages on those, like Insight and drivers.

Would the installation of additional drivers, aside from the ones provided in CentOS give access to a thing like S.M.A.R.T since it is not available?

Hi, I have just bought a HPE Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 530SFP+ for my DL60 G9.

On The ILO > System Information > Device Inventory, the NIC Card is in UNKNOWN status and UNKNOWN location.

The card does not appears in ILO > System Information > NIC Information.

My ESXi 7.0 doesn't list the NIC card on the hardware list.

I plugged the card in the PCIe Gen3 x16 slot (low profile).

On the NIC board, there is 3 orange led light:

• when I plug a Juniper 10GB SR SFP+ on port 1, the D1401 orange light shut down.
• when I plug a Juniper 10GB SR SFP+ on port 2, the D1402 orange light shut down.
• there is still a little orange light on board (D1404). Does it means there is a problem with the card?

Do I need the plug the NIC card on another PCIe (a 8x PCIe instead) ?

Hello,

I have issue with booting DL360p gen8. Front led is blinking red and display cpu led lights. iLO is showing bios/hardware health failed. In overview tab is missing SN, ROM information. IML log is cleare. In diagnostic tab is HOST ROM green, but ACTIVE and BACKUP rom have "record not found" note. AHS parse failed on "File was not able to be processed as SMBIOS type 0 records are not found.". I tried to upgrade iLO FW with success. Then I upgrade via iLO "Online ROM Flash Component" extracted from WINDOWS exe file, it run without any issue. I am not able to acces boot order menu in iLO, system did not boot from USB so I tried "System ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade" via iLO and extracted file from exe, it run without any issue. I tried reset iLO and reboot system but status still same. System has not been used for a year and without cpu. I installed a used but supported processor. I didnt know iLO IP and username/password, so perform reset via maintenance switches on mainboard. It can be caused by failed CPU or MAINBOARD? Or just need to restore BIOS+ROM?

Im a bit a of a newbie to owning and operating my own hardware as in the past I have just rented in a datacentre. I recently aquired a HP DL360p Gen8 1u Server, I bought it as barebones as they come secondhand. I have 2 Xeons E5-2309 but only installed 1, added some registered DDR3 332GB and 5 SAS Drives. I have spent 2 days trying to install ESXi 6.5 from a usb stick. but the server does not want to pick up the usb at all. I formatted the stick and put on the ISOs direct and booted into Intel Provisioning. It picked the ISO up easy, however the server fans according to ILo stated running at 29% but when I went through Intel Prov, it started updating the firmware and the fans ramped up to what seemed like 150% then it asked me to reboot. Is this normal and should I be worried?

I tried using hprest.exe to get details on BIOS setup similarly to what I used to use conrep for. For some reason though any Gen10 box I try running login against gives me ERROR: 'links" . Any idea what might be causing this. I don't suppose there is any alternative way of extracting BIOS setup?

I am looking for a graphics card that can fit in my ML310e Gen 8 V2 file server, put simply I don't have any VGA connectivity in my home so would prefer to have a digital graphics output. 

Does anyone have any recommendations or lists of products that will work? I notice the technical document doesn't list any other than OBG.

We have installed an additional 8 disk bay on a DL380 Gen10 plus the 12G SAS expander card and connected the SAS cables as per guide. All 16 1.2TB DP disks are recognized correctly. However, we noticed that (from the Smart Storage Administrator utility) all 16 SAS disks are listed as connected under Port1I : Box 1 and none under Port2I. Is this normal? Shouldn't the disks be balanced out between the 2 Ports for best performance or is this due to how the SAS expander card "filters" the connections?

Hi everybody,

I recovered a Proliant ml370 G6 from retirement house. I tried to start it but he couldn't boot from the HHD disk.(At this moment only the PS2 was amber on the systeme Insight disp)

So I tried to remove the BIOS battery to try a clearCMOS and now, When the server start the Proc1 & Proc2 are amber the fans make lot of noises and no there is no display on the screen.

I would like to get some help, it's my first server and I am not very experimented.

I have more question than this one so if somebody could add send me a twitter or discord to ask with him. Thank you to anyone who will share their server knowledge with me.

My HP DL380 Gen9 Server is not going in Array Controller Configuration, when it boot the intelligence provisioning does not work and it do not open the RAID configuration setting page.
Need urgent help on it.

I have a SL4540 1 node chassie. hade 2 nodes ( one spare)

i have updated the BIOS, Chassie FW and ILO, and now it wold not post.
ligth go amber and red is flashing.

The ILO was old so when updated, i cannot format the NAND (chip burned out?)
and a System Power Fault Detected (XR: 0C 00 MID: EF 4D FE F4 FF FF FF 27 27 00 00 00 05 00 50 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00) was presented in the ilo log.
so my server is now dead in the water, both Node act the same.

is ther anything i can do to fix it?

One of my production servers DL380P Gen8 - HDD is showing Predictive Failure Alert, current part model is HP EG0300FCVBF and the alternate which is availble locally is HP EG0300JEHLV.

Please suggest compatibility, its on RAID1.

Hello Dears,

I need your input on the following issue we're facing.

After a restart of a DL360 GEN9, we had the following errors

329-Power Management Controller FW Error – Unable to communicate with the FW. Action: Reset iLO FW. If issue persists reset the Power Management Controller FW (remove AC). If issue persists attempt to update the FW.

LO FW Communication Issue – Unable to communicate with iLO FW. Certain management functionality is not available".

 333-HPE RESTful API Error - Unable to communicate with iLO FW.BIOS configuration resources may not be up-to-date. Action:
Reset iLO FW and reboot the server. If issue persists, AC power cycle theserver

We couldn't boot into the OS (2012 r2) so we tried to revert to the backup ROM. Now we're facing an error : REDUNDANTFOM ERROR

System utilities are not even available for us to change to the primary rom

 

Here are some additionnal steps we've done so far :

- tried to access the ILO GUI but no response

- We AC powered off the servers but in vain

- I should also note that this server had its ILO upgraded a while ago.
