I've been trying for the last couple days to apply the HPD8 firmware to two hard drives in a DL320. I downloaded the appropriate sexe file from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c01186030&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN and when I run it on my system I am told it doesn't find any drives.
The system is an Ubuntu 10.00 amd64 server with the two SAS drives configured as a RAID1. Using getlibs I was able to get the SmartComponent to run but as I mentioned, it doesn't find my hard drives.
I've attempted other means of upgrading with no luck:
Upgrading from the Firmware Smart Update Manager from within Linux and pointing the software directory one that included my update. (CP008447.sexe)
Upgrading from the Firmware Smart Update Manager as a boot device and allowing it to search for a removable device for supplemental updates.
Creating a bootable USB Key with the Firmware Smart Update Manager on it and the update (CP008447.sexe) included.
Any help would me greatly appreciated. I can rebuild the server but I would like to retain the hard discs. I don't know if its not finding my discs because they are configured as a RAID1 or not.
