Hi
Not sure if this is the right forum?
Yesterday I updated the firmware on my NC522SFP NICs to the newest one availiable (4.0.593), but I have a question that I need some help answering. Why does the firmware update utility say that my active firmware is either of the old nor the new firmware? Take look at this:
Before the update:
C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\Drivers\NC522SFP\Firmware\Extracted>nxflash_x64.exe -i "Ethernet 2" --info
Board Type : 0x26 (HP NC522SFP Dual Port 10GbE Server Adapter)
Board Chip Rev : B2
Serial Id : XXXXXXXX (For your security, I have removed the serial number from your post above - that's information you probably don't want to make publicly available.)
Efuse ID : 0x4e424d3530303e14
Firmware version(on Flash) : 4.0.579
Active Firmware version : 4.0.590
Driver version : 5.3.27
BIOS version : 2.1.0
MAC Addr 0 : 80:C1:6E:A9:61:78
Subsystem ID : 0x705b103c
PXE Status 0 : Enabled
WOL Status 0 : Enabled
NCSI Status : Enabled
After the update:
C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\Drivers\NC522SFP\Firmware\Extracted>nxflash_x64.exe -i "Ethernet 2" -info
Board Type : 0x26 (HP NC522SFP Dual Port 10GbE Server Adapter)
Board Chip Rev : B2
Efuse ID : 0x4e424d3530303e14
Firmware version(on Flash) : 4.0.593
Active Firmware version : 4.0.590
Driver version : 5.3.27
BIOS version : 2.1.0
MAC Addr 0 : 80:C1:6E:A9:61:78
Subsystem ID : 0x705b103c
PXE Status 0 : Enabled

NCSI Status : Enabled
OS is 2012 R2 and driver version is the "HP QLogic P3P Multifunction Driver for Windows Server 2012 (American, International)" - HP QLogic P3P Multifunction Driver for Windows Server 2012 (American, International)
Where does the Active Firmware come from? It seems like there is a bundled firmware file within the driver?
Thanks in advance
