hpwdt watchdog doesn't work

I'm trying to switch from ipmi_watchdog to hpwdt kernel  module.  With hpwdt there's permanent problem : 

- hpwdt module loads properly ( visible for lsmod )

- watchdog test app https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/watchdog/src/watchdog-test.c  feeds properly.  Added debug messages to   hpwdt_ping() function in hpwdt module to check if it's  called  -  it is.

- stopping test app (SIGKILL) doesn't cause server reboot : FAIL

same test with identical SW environment  replayed for G6  : SUCCESS

ProLiant BL460c Gen8 , 

RHEL6   kernel 2.6.32-431.17.1.el6.x86_64

iLO4 1.30, then upgraded to 1.51

tested hpwdt releases:

1.2.0  : FAIL
1.3.2-rh : FAIL

Did   anyone succesfuly run hpwdt module with G8 ? If yes, what's the  setup ? 

Do you know how to debug it from the other side of PCI  bus ? I mean to check if  initialization and  feeds are properly received by iLO.
