So,
I installed an HP Seagate 600 Pro SSD into a DL320e V2 server, and it is not reporting the temperature from the SSD so the fans run on high speed.
According to Seagate, the SSD DOES produce temp data:-
"2.9.1 Temperature
Temperature is defined as the drive's internal temperature as reported by SMART attribute 194 for operation or the drive
case temperature for non-operating."
Why on earth is it the case than the B120i in RAID mode is not picking up the SSD drive temps?
I just dont understand what the issue could be.
Whats so special about the Gen8's and the way that only some drives seem to report temperatures? A Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 reports the temps just fine, but a Seagate 600 Pro doesnt?!!
Could HP have disabled the temperature data in the firmware?
So confused and frustrated.
Anyone used a Kingston E50 SSD in a Gen8 Server ok and had temperature data reporting correctly?
Thanks.
