Good day.
I'd like to install HPE System Management Tools on HP Proliant DL380 G7 with Ubuntu Server 18.04.2 LTS.
Before making any changes I updated firmware from SPP 2016.10.0 (it was last SPP where DL380 G7 is supported). After updates I have those versions:
ILO version – 1.91 (was updated separately)
BIOS version - 2018.05.21 (was updated separately)
SMART Array – 6.64 (updated from SPP)
HPE QLogic - 2.18.1 (updated from SPP)
Next I had read those articles (the second one in Russian)
https://thejoyofstick.com/blog/2013/04/28/install-hp-support-software-in-your-ubuntu-server/
https://blog.it-kb.ru/2018/02/27/installing-hpe-system-management-tools-smh-ssa-on-the-hp-proliant-dl380-g5-server-with-debian-linux-9-3-stretch/
and tried to use them as manual.
Script add_repo.sh detected version of my Ubuntu and added new repository
deb http://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/repo/mcp bionic/current non-free
Next with the command
cat /var/lib/apt/lists/downloads.linux.hpe.com_*_Packages | grep -E "Package:|Description:"
I can see what packages will be installed on my server. And this list is too small:
yuri@amber:~$ cat /var/lib/apt/lists/downloads.linux.hpe.com_*_Packages | grep -E "Package:|Description:"
Package: amsd
Description: Agentless Management Service for servers with iLO5
Package: hponcfg
Description: RILOE II/iLo online configuration utility
Package: ssa
Description: Smart Storage Administration Utility
Package: ssacli
Description: Command Line Smart Storage Administration Utility
Package: ssaducli
Description: Array Smart Storage Administration Diagnostics Utility CLI
yuri@amber:~$
I can't use amsd, because it for ILO5 (my DL380 Gen7 has ILO3) and in final I 'll have only hponcfg and some versions of ssa.
All thats mean that I can use HP System Management Homepage (package hpsmhd is not in list of available packages). Also snmpd not installed too.
So my question is - is it possible to install HPE System Management Tools on HP Proliant DL380 G7 with Ubuntu Server 18.04.2 LTS? I mean - install with hpsmhd, hp-health, hp-smh-templates, hp-snmp-agents and all another packages???
Regards.
