HP Smart Array P411/1GB FBWC - Controller Lockup Error (code 3h)

 Hi,

 

We are encountering this error for the past 3 days and it's always recurring.

This is a new installation and we updated the controller firmware but still the problem occurs.

 

Here is the setup.

DL380 G7 with embedded P410i controller, we added P411/1GB FBWC 2 external SAS for D2700 Disk Enclosure connectivity.

D2700 has 24 x 300GB SAS disk and at first we created arrays but after a night of system running, when we check the controller in the morning the above error shows up.

It's been happening for 3 days.

Any idea or solution for those who encounter the same error?

DL380e Gen8 - Hyper-V Error

Hi All,

 

I have the following setup.

 

1 x DL380e Gen8

2 x 1TB SATA LFF Drives in RAID1 Setup running under a B120i Controller

8GB Memory

1 x QC Proc

 

I've installed Win 2008 R2  - and added Hyper-V Role

 

While installing a VM, after configuring the settings - Disk, Memory, Proc etc, while performing the Windows 2008 R2 installation on that VM - the installation cannot find any disks to continue the installation. It's requesting for drivers to detect the hardware.

 

Anyone can help about this?

Can I use normal SATA HDD in ProLiant ML350 g6 Server?

Hi all!

 

We have this HP ProLiant ML350 g6 Server which came with its special HP HDDs. We really want to add another Hard Disk and install a Windows Server in it.

 

With limited budget, we can't purchase HP HDD as of now. But we have a SATA HDD (Western Digital, 500GB/16MB Cache) and we want to add this to the server.

 

Will the server accept this HDD?

ML150 G6 CPU upgrade - NO BIOS POST

Folks,

I want to upgrade my ML150 G6 (which runs just fine as is with Linux Distro) from a E5502 to a E5506.  The E5506 is taken from a working ML330 G6 so is confirmed as without issue.

Problem I have is that when install the E5506 the server will not POST.  The fan test completes ok - I just get nothing on the screen.

I have tried different memory modules and combinations but no change. I have also reset the BIOS - again no change.  Current BIOS on the server is 021 dated 18th Jan 2011.

TIA - Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Add Second processor to ML350e Gen8 v2

Looking to purchase a ML350e Gen8 v2 (749356-S01). I want to add a second processor. From what I understand the PSU needs to be upgraded also. So what i have been told is that I will need the following parts for a second processor.

 

  • QTY 1 – 701841-B21  Xeon Processor E5-2420v2
  • QTY 1 -  738661-B21 HP ML350e v2 Redundant Power Supply
  • QTY 1 -  503296-B21 PSU Kit

Couple of questions. 

 

Is only one redundant PSU enough or is two required for two processors?

Is the 460w PSU enough or do I need the 750w psu for two processors?

Does the old PSU stay in the machine with the Redundant Power Supply?

I've acquired a pair of HP SE316-M1 motherboards with two X5650s respectively. Looking to run both open-case with external cooling, but the board performs an emergency shutdown during POST without the board fans. Which of the 6 pins per fan pinout would I have to jump in order to bypass these?

HP ProLiant Dosen't Boot

Hello,

 

I just bought 2 HP ProLiants, and i wondering, did i get scammed?

 

The computers is starting and beeping for around 10sec and then it stops for around 10sec and then beep again, over and over.

 

I want to install WIndows on it and i ust VGA but it does just appear as a blank screen, the screen says 'no signal'

 

 

Iam not so good with computers so please discribe how i can fix it.

iLO http not work

Got to me on a new place of operation of the DL360 g7 server. But there is couple of problems with iLO:
1) Only ssh works at one but http/https doesn't work.
2) Only ipmi works at couple, I can come under c0

With HP I am the absolute beginner, prompt as to solve these problems please

ML350e Gen8 BSOD HpCISSs2.sys

I have a newly installed ML350e Gen8, running Small Business Server 2011, that is rebooting from a Bug Check almost every other day; 

 

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: HpCISSs2.sys

Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal

 

STOP: 0x000000d1 (0x010, 0x00b, 0x000, 0xfffff8800127fa85)

 

The Smart Array controller (420i) is running the latest firmware, though I have downgraded the Smart Array driver to test (the error was previously exactly the same but referencing HpCISSs3.sys when using the latest driver). 

 

Has anyone else experienced this, as I could not find anything via searching, or have any idea as to how to resolve it?

What about vmware for Hp's servers. 

What is the different between  

HP VMware vSphere Enterprise 1 Processor 3yr E-LTU/ Promo E8H75AAE  and

HP VMware vSphere Enterprise 1 Processor 3yr E-LTU BD713AAE. The level of maintenance and technical support are the same ?

We need to switch from the default UEFI to Legacy BIOS boot mode on our HP G9 servers. I need to script this. Can I perform this action using the HP ILO PowerShell module (or any other kind of api) pre server-install?

One supplier had suggested HP RAID CARD P410.

I want to know whether this card will support VM ware and SATA interface.

ML330 G6 New HDDs not recognised.

Hi,

 

I have a ML330 G6 that requires more spece so we are upgrading the hard disks to 3 X 1TB.

 

The old drives are: 500GB Hot Plug 397377-022

The new drives are: 1TB Non Hot Plug 695502-001

 

I am seeking to install Linux however the drives are not being recognised.

 

The server has a B110i raid controller which I have disables in the BIOS.

 

I have these drives installed in bays 1, 2 & 3 where the hot plug drives were removed from.

ML310e Gen8 v2 Server cannot detect 2 TB SATA HDD in ACU ?

Hi,

 

I have just purchased 2x 500 GB and 2x 2TB SATA HDD for my ML310e Gen8 v2 Server. somehow in the ACU when I boot up, the physical device detected are just the two 500 GB HDD not the 2x 2 TB HDD.

 

Why is that happening ?

 

I can see that when the server booting, the 2x 2 TB HDD when inserted shows the green led spinning.

Hi all,

I just got a brand new Proliant Gen8 G1610T.

Tried to perform the initial system setup according to the ProLiant MicroServer Gen8 Setup Poster. As I came to step 6 to activate Intelligent Provisioning the system does not go any further than the splash screen.

The loading indicator is "full".

 

Can anybody tell me what's wrong?

HP ML110 G7, Installing windows server 2012 r2 Essentials HP ROK, recommende​d order of task

I am doing a first server install for server 2012, a few changes from the old 2003 & 2008 version, and wanted to check the correct/recommend order for installing items.

 

Server: HP ML110G7 (250gb Raid 1 Systems Drive, 1tb Raid 1 Data Drive, 6Gb Ram)

OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials HP ROK

 

I am starting the server from the Windows Server disk, but once that is complete there are several tasks required, and I am not sure which is the best order, advice on this would be very much appreciated. The tasks I am running are:-

 

Install from Windows server 2012 r2 Essentials ROH HP DVD

Then which order for the following

Windows Updates,

HP SPP 2014.09,

Configure network Adaptor to static IP,

Windows, Configure Windows Server Essentials Wizard 

 

Also are there any other tasks I am missing?? The Server is to be used as a basic file & print server.

 

Also which of the 2 network ports is recommend for use (1 sharing ILO with network, or 1 for ILO & 2 for network traffic)

Generation 8 Servers Active Health System (AHS) logfiles

A question to HP:

 

Together with the Gen 8 servers a new feature came across... the AHS Active Health Service. Whenever a problem occurrs and a warranty case has to be opened, the AHS logfile must be sent to HP support.

 

Now the problem: When the server is located at a bank or a government facility, these customers usually don't give any data out of their hands. Not even the AHS logfile.

 

How will HP handle such a case? Many HP supporters insist of having the logfile, others take it easy if it's missing.

Hyperthreading not supported on a ML350 gen8 with 2 E5-2609 2.5 GHz

An ML350 with 2 E5-2609 V2 2.50 GHz shows during boot a message saying that Hyperthreading is not supported.

In BIOS I don't see any option to enable/disable hyperthreading.

The guest OS (VMware ESXi) reports 2 procesors with 4 cores each one and 8 logical processors, with hyperthreading N/A.

Is the normal behavior of such server or is there any problem?

Should I do anything to see if there is any problem?
