Hello.

It was recently given  me an HP ProLiant ML580 G7 with 4x xeon 8837, 4x 126 gb hard drives, 128GB DDR3 ram. It is not in the best conditions, but electronics seem to be fine, only the power button has desoldered from the system insight board, but that should not be the problem. Before trying it, I've dusted it, then I plugged it, and it seemed to be booting fine (all fans were spinning), but then I realized that I forgot to install the heatsinks onto the CPUs, so I immediately unplugged it. After installing the 4 heatsinks, I tried to power it on, but without luck: this time, no lights on the power supplies were on, the system insight display was only showing a green power light, both UID and power button lights were on, the board LCD was saying "00", only the power supply fan was spinning. Shorting the power button pins did nothing. Another thing I noticed is that the server semms "freezed": for example, if I unplug a fan, the system insight led of that fan does not turn amber, it stays off like if the fan is installed and working properly, while before it would have lighted up. Another thing is that, when I plug it in, a green led on the ILO board lights up but after a second or so it turns back off; also the heatsink of this board gets a little hot if I leave the server plugged in, like if it is doing something. Also, a lot of little leds in the bottom part of the PCIE board light up amber.

I am new to HP servers and getting ready to deploy some ProLiant DL20 gen10s. Previously, I would boot to WinPE and use DISM to deploy a "golden" ffu image. I have been unable to "slipstream" the RAID controller (via SPP) into the process. So, seeing that I have to do this dozens of times, Id really rather not use the "Express" setup for each...thats the only way Ive been able to successfully build one of these servers. Help!

As testing

We are able to install the OS with core OS but if we are using Desktop experience its stuck at 81% installation

and failed.

how do i enable the 4 ethernet ports for this server it seems that when i installed a proxmox on it ,it says all of it's port our down also why is that when i enabled the ilo shared it also disabled the ilo dedicated ports

I have a DL380 Gen10 with a HPE Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 562FLR-SFP+ Adapter. Two SAS cables attach to one port on each drive in the Autoloader.

Is it possible to double the data throughput by using a fanout cable from the interface to the drive - thus connecting two SAS cables into the drive? (The drive has two ports for SFF-8088 style connectors)

If so, which fanout cable would be supported?

Purchased a used DL380 Gen9.  On boot it shows:

POST Error: 313-HPE Smart Storage Battery 1 Failure - Battery Shutdown Event Code: 0x0400. Action: Restart system. Contact HPE support if condition persists.

Tried two new replacement batteries (815983-001) with the same result.  BIOS and iLO is up to date.  Anything else to try or am I out of luck?

My server 2 days ago started using the fans in a strange way after he enters the vmware the fans start using the fans quickly without use, from 13"% to 60% or up to 80%, I already did reset by bios reset cmos and reset by pin 6 of the board, I already changed the HDD temperatures, I already cleaned it completely, they are normal in the ilo. Does anyone know what can it be.
(I have all the updates up to date, and tested several systems with the same problem)

we have dl380 g9 and running 64 bit CENT OS 7.3  Tonight suddenly one of node crashed 

and IML logs shows following error when server rebooted

I'm using my DL380e Gen8 as a FreeNAS server.  Occasionally it reboots duringn the night.  I have yet to discover the exact reason, but instead of coming up as it should the warm-boot doesn't work with the USB device plugged into the mother board (just in front of CPU2).

Powering down and restarting it comes up properly.

I don't know if I saw the option for reboot in my DL380 Gen7 or another server.  But somewhere it gave the option of cold boot.

Is that configurable here ?

Hi, does anyone know if the BIOS firmware at least for this old machine can still be found somewhere?

There's a downloads page for it with dozens of firmware, but none for BIOS or BMC/iLO for that matter. Only for storage controllers, NICs and other peripherals: There is a downloads page for it here, https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/km/product/3896020/hpe-proliant-dl180se-g6-server#t=DriversandSoftware&sort=relevancy&numberOfResults=100

There is one on the DL180 G6 downloads page, but that one does not want to be installed on the "se" variant, it seems.

I have an ML110 Gen10 ( SKU# P03685 ) with an LFF drive cage and SATA HDDs.  I would prefer to use SFF SSD drives.  Is it possible to swap in  HPE ML110 Gen10 8SFF Drive Backplane Cage Kit SKU #874007-B21 and use drives such as:

• HPE 480GB SATA 6G Mixed Use SFF (2.5in) SC 3yr Wty Multi Vendor SSD ( SKU# P18432-B21 )
  or
• HPE 480GB SATA 6G Mixed Use SFF (2.5in) SC 3yr Wty Digitally Signed Firmware SSD ( SKU# P07922-B21 )

If it isn't can you explain why?

Hello Everyone, recently we bought HPE prolian DL380 Gen10 server. It has  HPE 40G QSFP+ 40GBase-SR4 Transceiver Module. Even though there is no traffic flow, i have seen that it was over heating and when we check the temperature, we have found out that temperature is around 80 deg celsius.

Can anyone tell me what is the optimal temp for the transceiver and if overheating is a issue, please tell me what should we do with it.

Hi,

I have a Proliant DL380 G7 server with the Windows Server 2008 operating system, with two SAS Arrays.

The first (A) has two 146GB disks running on RAID 0 (OS) and the second (B) has four 500GB disks running on RAID 5 (data). 

One of those four discs is in trouble, flashing blue and amber.

I think it is not easy to find a similar disc, so I would have to buy one with more capacity.
How should I proceed to replace it without losing the content that is on the other discs?

Hello,

One of two ProLiant DL 360 Gen9 (exactly same HW setup) servers is spaming event log with error 129, 153 and 5008. Main problem is, that VMs are freezing on this node from cluster and it is not possible to work with them. Source of MPIO is MSA 2040.

NODE A is the problematic one, lets asume there are no VMs running. When I move 1 VM to NODE A, errors start showing up (129, 153, 5008). When I move that VM to another node (good one) no more errors shows up at NODE A.

Then Cissesrv 24607 appeared:

"The event information received from array controller H241 located in server slot 2 was of an unknown or unrecognized class.

An excerpt of the controller message is as follows: Phy Err Thresh Exceeded, DeviceType=254 Port=2E Box=0 Bay=0."

So I started updating all and NODE A, leaving NODE B as it is since it is working well.

NODE A running Win2012R2,  System Rom: P89 v2.76 (10/21/2019).
HBA H241 driver: 106.26.0.64
Smart Array P440ar Controller: 106.26.0.64

Found this solution for error 129 and 5008 https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c04584498 but why uninstall WBEM when on other server it is working well?

Hello, 

I would like some clarification on the BIOS Option "TPM Binding" 

• TPM Binding — Sets whether data is encrypted using a TPM bind key, a unique RSA key.

Which Data are we talking about ? What is the TPM Bind key ( compare to the TPM not-bind? key )

Context :DL380 Gen 9 / Windows Server 2016 - 2019 / Bitlocker / TPM attestation ... etc etc

Strugling with proepr GPU instalation of Quadro K6000 ( certified device ) under Windwos Server 2016 

i have original GPU cables, followed all possible workflows but just cant get it working.

I have a DL360p running Server 2016. I just upgraded from Server 2012 (had to do a fresh install because Server 2016 did not let me preserve my programs and drivers). So I'm trying to get the Server 2016 drivers installed so the OS can take advantage of the 12 Xeon cores, RAID, SAS, etc. 

I'm booting last SPP I was entitled to use from June 6 2018 for that system.

After multiple attempts, It always does exactly the same thing.  The server pack for ProLiant baseline is successfully added and list 799 components. Then when it moves on the inventory of the localhost, it always hangs near 99% on "starting self-inventory for the component firmware-hdd-d64642c780-HPK3-1.1.x86_64.rpm."

Any help greatly appreciated. I would like to get a few more years out of this server.

お世話になっております。今回、既存システムのリソース増強にあたり、DL360_Gen9の物理メモリを増設します。

【現状】

物理メモリ８G_１本で運用している

【対応】

容量増加に伴い、16Gのメモリを1本付け足す。

【質問】

・メモリを追加するマザボ上のスロットは、下記どちらの方が推奨等ありますでしょうか。

容量によって刺すスロットの場所に指定等あるのでしょうか。

案１．12A=8G_9B=16G

案２．12A=16G_9B=8G

※基本的にどちらでも問題ない認識ですが相違ないでしょうか。

Hello, when starting the hp dl380 g6 server I have two beeps. Ilo 2 doesn't show any error .. anyone has any idea?
