Logical Drive Expantion and Linux (DL380)

Hi, i in the process of adding one more disc to a 3 disc raid5 Logical Drive on a pair of proliant servers (DL380 G3 & G4). I could expand the array with hpacucli without problems (the G3 is considerably slower though).

Now my doubt is, should i expand the drive directly (is it supported on linux?) or should i add a second logical drive and use lvm to make use of that space?
