I'm in charge of an HP Proliant DL380 G7 with the Smart Array P410i. It has one array/logical drive. Currently there is 900 GB of unallocated space. I would like to be able to use that space since the users folder (network My Documents/Desktop, not local users folder) has just about filled up the current drive.
My question(s) are can I use Migrate Logical Drive and bump up the Strip Size from 256KB to 512KB (FT is Raid 5) to get that space allocated to the exisiting logical drive (E:), or will I need a 3rd party program such as Partition Magic, Acronis, etc? If I can use MLD to do this I see it says 15 minutes per GB which works out to be roughly 225 hours/10 days. Should/will it affect the ability of users to access the current files located on the drive, and if so can I stop it/reverse it if necessary, or can I do it in say 12 hour chunks (@48 GB/day)?
Thanks in advance!
