Dear HP Support team.
Are there maintenance task for a preventive maintenance. e.g. replacement of the Smart Storage Battery after for example 5 years?
Is there a manual where I find a summery of preventive maintenance tasks?
Best regards Martin.
I want to connect Neos StorageLoader with LTO6 HP Ultrium MP Data Cartridge C7976A to a Proliant ML110 G6 by HP Smart Array 212 but not sure it will work. In StorageLoader information is writen that: tape products do not work with any HBA that RAID is enabled, therefore RAID must be disabled before the HBA can be used with any tape product. In Smart Array manual are LTO Ultrium Tape Drives supported but on list are just up to LTO4 drives.
My questions are:
1. Does smart array 212 have option disable raid?
2. Does smart array 212 support LTO6 tapes?
Hello:
I tested that HP_ProLiant_DL388_G7 can support remote wake-up function by the wolcmd.exe command with the server mac address. I setted the function enabled in the HP DL388 Gen9 bios, but HP DL388 Gen9 can not wake-up by wolcmd.exe ,why?
May someone help me? Thank you!
We have many HP Proliant servers (ML350 G5, DL380 g5,g6) in Data Center.
in this year I notice that problems of hard drive failure and RAM hang and Power Supply failure occur more than once.
we have checked our power systems UPS and earthing and they are OK.
What do you think the problem?
Hello Everyone,
I have recently got new dl360 gen 9 server (2 CPUs 2660v4 , 80GB RAM - 10x8GB).
I applied SPP that has been released in October 2016 (ROM 2.30, Ilo 2.50) and installed HP vmware image.
Everything went well until I realized the average cpu temperature is 55-60C.
So, If temperature goes up to 60C fans start speed up to 30% and temperature goes down till 50-54C, and then stars slowly raise up to 60C.
My question what could be the issue?
We already created ticket with HP but they didn’t find anything fishy.
All other servers we are operating using CPU 2650 v4 , and running on 40C (for CPU).
So, I cant understand why it’s so huge difference between 2650 and 2660 cpu temperature.
Because we (wrongly) have chosen 10x8Gb RAM, RAM frequency is 2133Mhz and not 2400 Mhz.
Could this give additional heating to CPUs?
Any other ideas why CPU temperature is such abnormal?
Anything I may adjust in BIOS?
Thank you in advance,
Aleks.
Greetings!
We have not integrated raid controller P410 installed and wish to use it's raid6 functionality.
We had used key from the papers but we have noticed, that the key was a trial (there was no just any warning on paper or even then typed it in menu).
And now we have a dead soon system and cannot find where we can buy this SAAP key. All your partners told us that it is too old hardware and they cannot get a key for us.
Can you please help us to get one or get the patch to controller or maybe some other solutions ?
Raid is about 2Tb size and we can't even backup it somewhere. And yes, we can't just turn off this server for a period longer than 2h.
p.s. If we change one p410 controller to another one (p410 too) can you guarantee that raid massive will be not be messed up or it is a thing that you'll never can't be sure ?
Please show me the issue log :

Hello!
Our new HP ProLiant DL 160 G9 hangs every time we run memory test (RBSU). Insight Diagnostics passes all the tests with no errors.
We have updated Intelligent Provisioning (now it’s 2.50 version) and other firmware with SPP 2016.
The server has 2 CPU and 4x16Gb of RAM, but we tried down to 1CPU and 1x16Gb of RAM with the same result.
HP Support replaced the server’s motherboard, but nothing had changed. Now they say that RBSU tests were developed for PC and may hang servers which sounds very strange. Also they sent us this link http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c05254356&sp4ts.oid=7481830
Before Intelligent Provisioning update there was a test log inside UEFI Diagnostics but hanged tests were not mentioned there – only successfully passed (tests of motherboard, CPU, HDD, etc).
Does anybody have the same problem with HP ProLiant DL 160 G9? Should HPE release some information about this issue officially?
Hi All,
I have a DL-180 G9 with 4 HDD in raid 10 conected to a H240 Card.
Because we need more storage performance, we brought a Smart array P840 card.
Now the question is; will the P840 recognize the raid made by the H240 or I will have to rebuilt the raid from scratch?
Thanks!
What is the best practice for using the SPP and updateing ESXi version.
I am currently running on firmware provided by the April 2016 SPP (2016.4.0) and the HPE customized ESXi 6 iso from April.
I would like to update the firmware on our Proliant DL380 G7's and G8's to version provided in the latest SPP and also upgrade ESXi to the latest version provided by HP.
I have downloaded both the latest SPP (2016.10.0) and the HPE custom ESXi iso (VMware-ESXi-6.0.0-Update2-3620759-HPE-600.9.6.0.49-Oct2016.iso).
I would think that one should update the servers firmware first using the SPP, and then update ESXi to the latest version, but if I recall (can't seem to find it now) the SPP documentation suggests updating ESXi first and then running the SPP.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!
New to blade server environment. Purchased a BL460c for C3000 enclosure. Need to connect to network. Windows Server 2016.
The only adapters available are FlexibleLOM NICs. How can I connect this blade to my network?
Does anyone have the visio stencil for the rear of a ProLiant ML110 G7 server?
Visiocafe only have the front of it in their HP-Classic-ProLiant package.
Thanks,
Graham
Hello Everyone,
After the new SPP 2016.10, the activity leds stopped working on caddies that have SSDs in them, and we still have one gen9 server to update, and the leds are working. now I know it makes sense since SSDs do not spin and the activity led represent spinning drives, but is there a way to re-enable it ?
Server DL380g9
Thanks
Hello all!
Quick question. I work for a mass intergration lab and we run hundreds of HP servers through our lab on a weekly basis -- Most with the same static config.
I'm already using the F10 - scripting toolkit upon boot on each individial server to import bios settings from our network. We also SSH into the ILO to set some static global settings through command line.
My question is there any way to input a reboot command in WinPE Scripting TOolkit on the server so that it loads insight diagnostics? It would save a bunch of time.
I have tried the "reboot diags" command but doesn't do anything. BIOS Is set to legacy as well. Also, I believe the "reboot diags" command will launch the embedded diagnostics, not the Insight DIagnostics available through intelligent provisioning.
I have Smart Array P410i with two arrays.
Array A had 4 disks. One disk had failed (1I:1:3)
I believe I made a mistake, when I inseted new disk in 2I:1:8.
Now I know, I should have removed disk from bay 3 and inserted new disk in same bay.
Array A is now in Waiting for Transformation state.
Is it now safe to remove disk from bay 3 and to insert the new one (I have one more)?
best regards, Sebastijan

I've already added the new drive to the server. is there a utility i can use to see those drive I haven't work on HP in years. I need some help please on how to configure this new hard disk. thanks in advance.
Has anyone managed to successfully link iLO2 login to Active Directory? I've been playing around with it for some time to try to get all users in one container to have access without any success.
Hello, can anyone provide me the lifecycle information for the following HP servers:
1) HP DL380 G7
2)HP DL360 G7
I basically need to know when the product entered the market and how long will it be supported by HP?
Thanks
Zyves
Hi Everyone,
We have 336 drives connected to a single HP DL380 g9 server. The drives are connected via two PCIe cards - LSI SAS 9300-8e.
Without the 336 drives connected the system boots up quickly without any problems. With the 336 drives connected the system boots up very slowly probably scanning all the 336 drives. The boot times are as long as 1 hour.
Note - The boot process takes a long time during POSt initialization and not during OS loading. After I see the linux grub, it takes about 1 minute to boot up completely.
I have looked at all the HP advisories, updated BIOS firmware , played with all the UEFI settings with no luck
Is there a way to speed up the boot process by telling UEFI to avoid scanning the 336 drives ?
