How to enter bios or boot menu
I've got a HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2 which refuses to enter boot menu or setup.
I am so frustrated with this machine that it will go to the tip unless I get help.
A number of other people report this problem with various proliant machines, by no solution has been found.

Error with a new HP DL20 with ILO
Hi,
I have the same error i have a new HP DL20 with ILO.
I want to install templates on the machine likes Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, Windows.
But when i try to install i have the follow problems.

iLo failure after firmware flash
After flashing firmware 2.5 to the iLo of all of my servers, one of them (ml310e Gen8) the ilo stopped responding. i was getting messages in the system log of windows that ilo was resetting. this was happening every minute or so. I also cannot access the ilo page. If I put a ping on, it will ping a few packets, then fail a few packets, then ping a few, etc.
The ilo config utility says it can't communicate with ilo.
I've tried a complete power cycle to reset the ilo but that didn't help. I tried reflashing firmware (from within windows) but it fails because it can't communicate with the ilo. I'm not on site, its a remote location so i have not tried flashing from a bootable support pack.
Any ideas? It has to be from the firmware flash, is there any way to recover or is the ilo damaged? thoughts?

USB power during BIOS
I have a DL380 g8 server , the VGA video out of the server is connected to a VGA extender which is powered from the USB port of the server,
The video on the extended display is not shown during BIOS sequence since the extender is not able to draw power from the USB at that time, once the BIOS is completed video is on. Is there any setup so that i can get the power from USB during BIOS.

Hard disk clapping
Hello,
I bought a server a month ago, the characteristics are: 5 hard drives of 300 go 10k SAS, 16 go of ram.
Then during the parametrage I selected the hard drives in RAID 6 and installed windows server 2012 R2 standard.
After finalizing the installation, I hear clicks of all 5 hard drives.
My question is normally that the hard drives slam every 5 min or when you connect to the server?
I would have liked to post a video to demonstrate but we can not do it on this site.

HP 533 adapter not showing as storage adapter
I have a HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 with HP FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 533FLR-T Adapter, the server is running ESXi 5.5 and Vmware wont show this HBA under storage adapter. Installed the driver from HP as well also tried the one from vmware. Should this card not show up as storage adapter for any reason ?

ProLiant ML10 G9 - OS support
On Aug 23 I looked up the 'Support Matrix' for Windows on HPE servers. I was hoping to get a DL machine to replace two aging ML110s and a desktop PC which are taking up space and sucking power. But I discovered there were no DL servers (or none suitable anyway) that run Windows 10.
So I looked some more, and found out the entry-level ML10 did in fact support Windows 10 so I quoted it and soon enough the customer approved and I ordered. There were some delays but the bottom line is I finally was able to start setting up a new ML10 this week.
Imagine my disappointment when I discovered I couldn't download Windows 10 drivers. And there are 0 (NO) ML servers on the WIndows 10 support list at all.
I might not me as young as I once was, but I'm not completely demented. I wrote to my account manager at the distributor in August, "So I found a web thing where Windows 10 is supported on the ML10 – pity, I was wanting a DL but they can live with a tower, and the ML10 is cheaper anyway[...]" so I definitely found *something*. Has HPE actually withdrawn support for Win10? If so how in gods' name can they do that? I can't accept the alternative, that I am mad and was hallucinating.
So now what? Treble the customer's investment just to be able to run Server 2016 for file & print sharing for 8 users? Doesn't seem like a good financial decision to me.

Disabling IPv6 Address on ILO Interface

Please can someone tell me how to disable the IPv6 address on the ILO inteface. My client only requires IPv4 to access the ILO and leaving a live IPv6 address on the ILO is classed as a security risk.

HP Light-Out Configuration Utility
Hello Colleagues,
I am working with HP Light-Out Configuration Utility lately and need some help.
Is there a possibility to get Informations like all BIOs settings, RAID settings and ILO settings logged in a text file from just accessing the ILO Board?
If it's possible, maybe someone knows what exactly I have to request for in the .xml file?
I need those informations pretty often, and it's time consuming to boot into BIOs every time on every single server.

DL389 G9 - Parts for an optional drive cage
We have a new DL380 Gen 9 (preconfigured model 826684-B21) and we need to install 4 additional SFF drives. We purchased and installed the optional 8SFF Bay2 Cage/Backplane Kit (PN 768857-B21) but failed to order the required 12Gb SAS Expander Card with Cables (PN 727250-B21).
What does "with Cables" mean? The data cable that came with the cage does not look like it has the right connectors. Where can I find a list of parts (cables) that are included in the SAS Expander kit (PN 727250-B21)? Or do I need to order a separate cable to go from the Bay2 and Bay3 cage backplanes to the separate ports on the Expander Card?

DL380 G7 (possible?) firmware bug causes fans to peg at 78%
I'm running into an interesting issue. DL380 G7 starts up just fine, but as soon as the OS hits, fans peg at 78% 100% of the time. It seems like there may be some problem with temperature sensor 29. Here is what iLo shows during post:
Notice that Temp 29 is not installed. If I stall the boot process anywhere, the fans ramp down to about 18%. But once the OS hits (and I have tried various flavors of Linux including Ubuntu 16.04 and RHEL7, no Windows Server yet...):

Any ideas why a temperature sensor would not be there during POST but would show up after OS initialization? But most importantly, how do I get the fans to behave normally?

Storage with DL580G7
Hi,
I´ve got a used DL580G7 for my small business with plenty of processing power and RAM for my 4 virtual machines. I have 8 SFF installed in 2 Raid5 Virtual Disks.
I would like to attach more storage to the system for backups and so on. The server comes with 2 Emulex controllers.
How can I attach an external system? What do I need to search for on eBay?

how to access efi AND iLO on hp integrity rx7460
Hello I'm on a hp integrity rx7460 ( I know it's a old machin).
My goal is to prepare this server for a customer. I mean installing HP-UX 11 v3, configure auto boot after power failure.
the drama: with my laptop I can access MP via the MP LAN port, But I'm not finding the way to acces the EFI and proceeed to the OS installation.
Is there somebody who can help me? I thought ther was a way to procced to OS installation though the MP.

SNMP traps and iLo Proliant
Hello,
I've got a problem with sending SNMP-traps.
I want to do the hardware monitoring with the traps.
When I log into my proliant server's iLo it is possible to send a test trap to my monitoring system.
This seems to work, but when eg I pull away the power supply, there is no trap that comes out.
I can't find out why.

NICs are not found DL380p Gen8
Hello,
I have a HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8 server with Windows Server 2008 R2 installed. After a normal Windows update and reboot the system can no longer see the 4 NICs of ther server.
I rebooted and checked in the BIOS menu and I can't find the menu name Embedded NICs menu under the System Options menu (screenshots attached).
Is there a way to fix this problem ? Did the NICs went away (not useable) ?

ML10 Gen 9 Video problems.
Hi.
I had bough and HP ProLiant ML10 G9 with a Xeon CPU and 2x1TB for file sharing.
I can't get image. I don't have a DisplayPort Monitor and i suppose that my adpater is not 1.2 active.
I read the manual and I tryied to put and GPU (ati 5450 basic pcie pcie2.1) and I still don't have any image.
The manual say that the servers will overide the internal video card if external is detected.
I can tell that the server is working (from the keyboard and USB lights)
Is there any problem with the server? or do I really need a display port monitor?
