Hi,
I have a Proliant Dl 380 G7 with an Smart Array p410i. I have 3 x 300GB SAS HDD. One of them is reporting failed. On the Array Configuration Utility when I access the Logical Drive, in More information the Parity Initialzation Status filed says Initialization Failed.
What might happen if I hot swap the failed disk with a new one?
Regards,
Edgar Santos
When i turn on the server and press F10 to boot into intelligent provisioning it just goes to network boot and loops until i manualy turn off the server.
I am running a Debian 8 Jessie variant (TurnKey Linux) on my ProLiant DL 380 Gen 5 server. This had the System Management Homepage installed and working without an issue.
I had to reimage and install the OS again and was unable to use
apt-get install hp-smh hp-smh-templates hp-snmp-agents hpacucli hponcfg hp-health cpqacuxe
I get the message that the packages cannot be found.
Likewise, I restored from a prior image I took and ran the command:
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
the modules in SMH disappear.
I have the correct repository in my /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sources.list file:
deb http://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/repo/mcp jessie/current non-free
And I have the repo keys installed.
My questions are:
Thank you in advance, and if this is the wrong area for this thread, or a similar question was posted, please guide me to the correct link.
Hi all,
i have a customer with a HP Proliant ML330 G6 server. http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c01767191
They reported slow internet the other day and after working on the network i have noticed the following.
I have taken DHCP away from the server and allowing the router to complete this task. I have changed over network adapters on the Embedded NC326i PCI Express Dual Port Gigabit Server Adapter and updated the drivers but this has not improved the situation.
Can anyone advise or has anyone experienced this issue?
Currently having to connect and disconnect the server from the network to receive/send emails, share folders and files (connect server to network) and work from the internet (disconnect server from network).
No matter what we do as soon as the server is connected to the network it completely drops or slows down.
Thank you in advance.
Hi,
I'd really appreciate if someone can let me know, if there is a SNMP mib or an OID to check the status for hp dl360 CMOS battery ?
Thanks

Hello everybody!
I have two HP Proliant DL360 G7 servers.
There are 4 SAS and 4 SATA drives.
The controller sees that SATA drives have a temperature of ~ 18 degrees.
And in the iLO it can be seen that they allegedly overheated and server ventilitory spins at maximum.
It turns out very noisy. As if to prove that drives iLO is not overheated?
Or you can somehow reduce the fan speed?
We picked up a new client who has a HP ProLiant DL320 G6 that has crashed. It turns on and is/was running vmware. We typically use Dell PowerEdge T110 II for these small businesses so I'm not super familiar with these HP blade servers and we don't use virtualization since they're small businesses.
I've tried connecting a VGA cable to it to see if I get anything on a monitor because the server powers up and acts like it's fine but nothing comes up on the monitor. (We had another client who had vmware and when connecting it would show the IP address to connect to the server.)
I've also tried using SSH / telnet into the server to see if I can access anything and see what exactly is down but I haven't gotten anywhere.
I would like to get rid of the VM and just do a server 2008 R2 or server 2012 R2 fresh install if possible
Any help would be awesome.
Thanks
I have ProLiant DL380p Gen8 with Hewlett-Packard Company Smart Array P420i in that. I want to confirm if the controller supports 4Kn drives?
Smart Array P420i documentation does not provide this information, does it mean that they support 4kn drives or I don't have to check compatibility?
Thanks for any information on this.
For the last few days I've been getting an intermittant PSOD on my Gen 8 G1610T.
In iLO, the only error visible is: User Initiated NMI Switch
Looking around online I found an advisory from HP stating this was a known issue with older firmwares (I was on 2.10 I think) and that an update to the latest should fix it. I've updated to 2.50 but the problem has only increased in frequency.
I'm running ESXi 5.5.0 and the PSOD error shows:
LINT/NMI (motherboard nonmaskable interrupt), undiagnosed.
Attached is a screenshot of the PSOD. The output shows a VM running at the time of the crash, however I've also tested this with no VMs booted and the sever died after about an hour.
Completely unusable at the moment so any help much appreciated.
Hello,
I have a few questions about the board ML330.
- I need the front panel connector pinout to start it up. Because i dont own the entire case.
- Can I install a OS on a regular Sata HDD when i connect it to it?
Thanks!
I am A Newbae here.
I got a HPE Proliant ML10 Gen9 Server Hardware and after setting up the legacy boot option, It is well connected to the internet LAN with internet connection, the DHCP router is serving the whole network well. Now I tried installing Ubuntu Linux 12 Server OS on it, getting to the network interface it reports not network interface error. And then the mirror or cache server not seen when getting to that stage.
I have attached the screenshot
Secondly I tried installing MS Windows Server 2012 on it for troubleshooting, it was noticed that the Ethernet card is there but not drived.
Please I need help urgently as my mission is to install Ubuntu Linux Server 12.0 on it.
Thanks in advance.
Hi. I work for the NetBSD Foundation. We maintain the NetBSD open-source operating system.
We have a donated Proliant server which I believe likely began its life as an Azure storage node. It's a "SE326M1R2", product ID 530655-B21. Unlike a standard DL180 of this generation it appears to have real HP ILO.
Unfortunately, at startup time, it prints out:
Integrated Lights-Out 2 is disabled. Use the Security Override Switch and the ILO 2 F8 ROM-Based Setup Utility to enable Lights-Out functionality.
This server does not have a Security Override Switch in the same motherboard location as a normal DL180 (in fact, we have another of these "SE326" systems which does seem to have a standard DL180 motherboard, but the system I'm talking about here does not). I can't seem to find any manual for this hardware confguration -- unsurprising as I know these were semi-custom "cloud" servers.
This motherboard has a block of jumpers marked "SYS ID" where a normal DL180G6 would have the security jumper. The motherboard part number is 691747-001.
I have done exhaustive search of all the jumpers that look like they _might_ be the security override jumper but in no position am I prompted to enter the ILO RBSU nor does F8 do anything. I pulled the P410 storage controller, since it also uses F8 for its ROM ACU, but that didn't help.
NetBSD has had a long and productive relationship with HP and its corporate predecessors but I don't have any current contact at HPE who seems likely to know the answer to this. I'm hoping someone reading this can help me find the security switch or otherwise reset/enable the ILO on this server; it is likely we may receive other donations of this type of hardware and we would really like to be able to put them to good use.
Hi Team,

Hey all,,

Hi, I need a quick guide on how to install SUSE Linux Enterprise server 12, 60 day trial version in a HPE ProLiant ML350 gen9. I already made a bootable usb disk ISO image but im unable to boot it from the server.
Hi all,
Trying to find some type of official way I would monitor an HP RAID array on a Proliant DL 380 G7 running Server 2012 R2 in CORE mode.
Obviously the usual SMH and ACU software is not available due to the lack of a GUI. I have a Systems Insight manager server running and can monitor individual disk health via the servers iLO3 management processor but is there anything like a CLI version of HP-ACU or something I can monitor RAID array health for Windows Server 2012 R2 running in CORE mode?
Thanks in advance,
durried.
Hi Everyone,
I would like to know if the Intel X540-T2 10Gb 2-port Ethernet is compatible with my server HP proliant DL 180 gen9?
Thank you

Hi,
I have a couple DL380 Gen8 (buying a new Gen9 soon) with VMWare installed on the on-board SD-card slot. We are migrating to Hyper-V and I heard that an installation of Hyper-V Server could be done to a SD-card if the hardware manufacturer supported it.
I've read somewhere that HP supports this but I haven't found any information on this at all.
So my question is. Is this possible and where do I find the information about this?
If not, what do other people do to run Hyper-V on a diskless server? We are buying a MSA 2040 with 10GbE iSCSI. Could I somehow boot directly to a iSCSI LUN or something? What is recommended here? I want to try and avoid buying disks just to install Hyper-V on as it would increase cost a great deal.
Thanks,
-Patric
