Unable to find system rom for HP DL360 Gen8, To mitigate CVE-2017-5715, CVE-2017-5753, CVE-2017-5754

According to HPE's advisory, system rom should have been released for DL360 Gen8 models. Problem is, i can't find them?

Anyone found the bits?

ML 350 G6 Home server questions....

Hello,

I was given an old ML 350 G6 from a friend who's office didnt need it any longer. I am not an IT pro. I do have a NAS set up at home that I basically stream media and store family photos on, and can get around a home PC (I realize that a server at a different level, but Im willing to learn). I am running out of space on the NAS, and it doesnt play nice with most of my devices due to recent firmware upgrades by the manufacturer (thanks Synology!). I figured this server might work for me to get rid of my home NAS set up. 

Current configuration of the ML 350 is it has 2 processors, 7- 146 GB SAS drives, DVD drive and windows server 2008 R2 on it and 42 GB Ram. My NAS has 2 -1TBdrives in RAID 1 configuration. So im really no further along with storage space with the server set up, and will have to add drives or replace with larger drives on the server to gain more space.

First question: Is it worth my effort to run this ML350 with windows server 2008 R2? For media streaming or home use as network storage? Software wise, will WS2008 allow me to install current software to accomplish this? Or would I be better off putting windows 8 on it? Or do I need WS 2012 or 2016 to be able to utilize media server software available today, rather than in 2009 when this was a current piece of equipment. What are your thoughts on which OS for home media streaming and network attached storage solution?

Secondly, I have several 3.5" LFF hard drives kicking around. This server has a raid array set up in the hot swap bays (7 drives) on the bottom, but also has a second RAID controller installed and is not being used. Is there any reason I cant install these LFF 3.5" drives into the removeable media bays (below the dvd drive) with 2 or 4 trayless mobil rack for 3.5" hard drives like these  (https://www.amazon.ca/StarTech-com-5-25-Inch-Trayless-Mobile-3-5-Inch/dp/B000KS8S9W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1515616944&sr=8-1&keywords=StarTech.com+5.25in+Trayless+Hot+Swap+Mobile+Rack+for+3.5in+Hard+Drive) , and connect them to the RAID controller with a  mini sas to 4 x sata cable, like this (https://www.amazon.ca/CableCreation-Reversed-SFF-8087-female-Target/dp/B013G4EQOM/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1515618953&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=mini+sas+to+sata+cable&psc=1).

I recently purchase a new HP Proliant ML10 Gen9 Server. i need help to install the drivers for it. im going to install the windows server standard 2012 r2 edition. i have also setup raid unable to proceed without drivers.

Hello there,

one of our servers in my Company is HP Proliant ML110 G5 and I need to reuqest new Hard disks for it,

I look at WD Gold 6 TB "7200 RPM Class SATA 6 Gb/s 128MB Cache 3.5 Inch" and I want to request 2 of 6TB and set up as RAID 1.

So I just want to ask about if HP Proliant ML110 G5 gonna support that or not.

CPU Upgrade for HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen9 - tower - Xeon E5-2640V4

Hi all,

I recently bought a  HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen9  that comes with a Xeon E5-2640V4 cpu (10 cores). I need to upgrade my server because we need 16 cores at least. So I have some doubt on how to to that.

I think I have two options (please correct me if I'm wrong) :

  1. Change Xeon E5-2640V4 cpu with another one more powerful such as E5-2683v4 cpu or E5-2695v4 or even higher
  2. Add in the second free cpu socket another E5-2640V4 cpu

Are those configurations correct?

Are there other options? For example , In the option 2 , can I add a different cpu up from E5-2640V4 cpu, i.e. : one slot with E5-2640V4 cpu and the other one with E5-2695v4 ?

HP ProLiant ML350 G6 RAID Controller

Have a HP Proliant ML350 G6, have 5 hard drives connected to the RAID controller. They keep failing, so the issue must be with the onbaord RAID controller. The server is way out of warranty, is there any solution to thos or is it simply a case of get a new server ?

DL360 G9 sccm osd black page

I'm trying to install a DL360 G9 with sccm osd, after pxe boot and loading the winpe image aftre a brief windows logo the screen remains black and nothing happens...

I have the net and smart array drivers on the boot image.

The boot image version is 10.0.16299.15

Any idea?

Adding Processor to ML350p Gen8

Good morning,

I am a system administrator for a small-medium healthcare organization.  We run a Xenserver based Xendesktop enviroment.  Recently, one of our branch XenServers failed.  This was an HPE Proliean ML350p Gen8 Server e5-2650 x2 Xencenter Server that hosted a DC, and print server.  It has been out of warranty since 2015 and exhibitted a solid amber light.  I attempted troubleshooting with no success.,  However, we currently have an undeployed HP Proliant ML240p Gen8 E5-2609V2 X1 (same out of warranty in 2015, but like new condition). 

I am attempting to replace the broken e5-2650 x2 with the current working e52609v2,  I have installed XenCenter on the newish e5-2609v2 server, however it is very limited in hardware.  It only has one CPU with 4 cores and 4 GB of PC3L-10600R RAM.  I would like to pull what hardware I can from the non-working Proliant 2650 x2.  The RAM seems straight forward enough, I have recovered 16 GB (in 4 GB DIMM) from the non-working server.  The RAM is identical according to what I see from HPE. 

I would like to pull a processor from the non-working server to upgrade the working (e5-2609v2) server to have more cores available.  Is this possible, the processors are the same form factor but I don't think they are the exact same model.  Please forgive, I am new to the world of servers and have done this on smaller form factor PCs.  I have reviewed instructions here (https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03389498) and this seems straight forward enough (I would need thermal paste)  

Is this swap possible? The RAM would boost things greatly but I would like to upgrade the processing power.  Thanks

HP DL160 G6 HPE Insight Management Agents

Good day i have been trying to install HPE Insight Management Agents for Windows Server x64 Editions with no luck as it is missing some dependancies HP ProLiant iLO 2 Management Controller Driver for Windows (G6 or earlier)

have downloaded and tried to install that getting this error

The software will not be installed on this system because the required hardware is not present in the system or the software/firmware doesn't apply to this system.
 

now my question is how can i get this to work or is it impossible to use it on this server?

Dear Support

Recently, we bougth 10 of  Product: HP ProLiant ML350 G6 Server on 2015 for spare in my test enviroment. Now we need to send those Server to China.  But it required me to provide 3C Certification Document, but I have the 3C document which was expired on 2015. If there a way, you can provide the new 3C Certification Document. I aslo attached the old 3C document below.

SSA stuck at 'Loading'. Unable to configure RAID on ML10 v2 (B120i controller)

Hello HP support et al;

Have enabled the B120i controller in the ML10 Bios.
Created a bootable USB stick with Smart Storage Administrator (SSA).
SSA boots all the way into the console with a "Loading..." icon in the middle, but never completes/proceeds.

Do I need to configure the SATA HDD specifically somehow in the system BIOS first?

I have run out of options that I can think of to remedy gaining access to the RAID configuration interface.

Thank you all for any guidance. I can only think this is a simple oversight during boot etc...

Dear Experts,

I tried to install Windows Server 2012 R2, 2008 R2, Windows 7, Windows 10 on HPE ProLiant ML150 Gen9 but unfortunately failed. 

it's just after boot stuck during loading files :(

I also remove the Hard Disk and fixed in another normal Core i7 HP PC to install the OS. after installation I fixed the HD back in the Server CPU but it's also not working. I thought it'll ask to repair the windows, but not.

kindly HELP me it's very urgent for me.

I'm a newbie in server maintenance and troubleshoot. I have some problems here. My server is ProLiant DL360p Gen8. My server always rebooting. When I check Integrated Management Log, I found some critical isuue, such as :

 

1. Critical Temperature Threshold Exceeded

2. System Power Fault Detected. System Has Enabled Power Protection and Disabled Power Supplies (XR: 00 00 MID: FF 0D FE 06 FF FF 2A 2A 0C 0C 00 01 00 00 03 01 82 00 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00), 

3. System Overheating (Temperature Sensor 8, Location Memory, Temperature 80C)

 

Is there any solutions to fix this problem? Thanks
