I have configured RAID 1 in ML 10 TODAY - 31-01-2018.

I have configured RAID 1 in  ML 10 TODAY - 31-01-2018.

Step by step :

Turn on server

Click on delete button or esc button

It will redirect to bios.

Go to advance and select '' CMS CONFIGURATION'' and enable CMS SUPPORT and select boot optin filter and select legacy only

Again back to advance and select ''SATA CONFIGURATION''  & select SATA MODE SELECTION - change to RAID..

Then - scroll down & select -SOFTWARE FEATURE MASK CONFIGURATION & scroll down and change to 4 seconds  normal delay.

And save & exit.

Restart the server then keep press on CTRL + I then you can create the RAID :)

maximum power draw supported by the PCIe slots on ProLiant DL360 Gen9

What is the max power draw for the PCI card slots for a DL360 Gen9?  I found this for a Gen7:

PCI Express expansion slot 2 full-height full-length x16 (16,
8, 4, 2, 1), 75W +EXT 75W (option for PCI-X card only
support)

There is no such data included in any documentation for the Gen9 that i could find.

Integrate DL-Server with OneView and SCVMM / SCOM

Dear all,

which software packages and steps are necessary to ingerate DLs with OneView and SCVMM and SCOM? Are there any caveats or is it pretty straightforward? The integration of DL in OV is fairly easy, but what about the rest?

Hp Proliant Server Slot 2 drive array controler failure

I am new to handling servers but good at troubleshooting PCs. I have an HP Proliant Desktop Server in my University Department which acts as a domain server. It shows a

"slot-2 HP Smart Array P420 controller 
1783-slot 2 Drive Array Controller Failure!
      [self-test failure (cmd=0h, err=00h, lockup=0DEAD:DEADh)]"

This server has two array controllers

1. HP dynamic smart array B120i RAID controller (Embedded)
2. HP smart Array P420 Controller (PCI slot 2)

 

Please Tell me a way to resolve this issue??

It seems like all DL160, DL180 and DL120 Gen9 models are now obsolete (OBS).

What HPE server replaces the DL160 Gen9?  Product Bulletin does not show any Gen10?

HI 

i have gotthis server hp proliant dl380 g5 on server 2008 R2. this is on raid 5. i am trying to install serevr 2012 R2 on the this. but when i boot from the DVD and click install i gte the following error 

a media driver your computer need is missing. this could be DVD,USB or hard disk driver.

 

please any advise

Help with scripted setup of array controller

I'm trying to use ssascripting.exe to setup the raid controller in a simple raid 1 for two disks during installation of a gen10 380 server but it doesn't work. The application just gives me an error message saying it can't find any controllers, like this,
ERROR: (2821) No controllers detected

If I manually go into BIOS and create a new storage array, the tool can then read and change the settings for it. Any ideas how I can create the array from start in an automated scripted way in WinPE, Powershell or any other tool?

The controller is a HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10, FirmwareVersion 1.04

Smart Array p420 with soldered blue wire - did it come from factory like this?

I have purchased a second hand HP SmartArray p420 controller card to find it has a blue wire soldered on that runs from one side of the board to the other. Can anyone confirm with any certainty whether some of these cards were supplied by HP like this, or has someone repaired this one at some point?

Proliant DL160 G5 not posting

Hi there.

Well im new here so sorry if i post this in the wrong section.

I bought me a DL160 G5 Mainboard, Ram and CPU.

Rams are 2x 2GB FBDIMM DDR2 from HP. One in XMM1 and one in XMM3. Like the manuel says. And the CPUs are 2x Xeon E5345. These are in the HP CPU Support list.

 

I havent the original Case but found one that fits perfectly. But everytime i switch power on the fans spin at max power, power led (on mainboard) is green but the "BMC Hearth Beat" is blinking green (on mainboard too) and nothing is happening. No post. Did i forget something?

add two disks and setup as separate volume on Proliant DL380 Gen 9

We have purchased two 1.8TB 10K SAS hard drives for our G9 server (791034-B21). We want to add them as a separate volume.  We have a P440ar, and currently have  five disks in two volumes. The OS on RAID 1, and the applications on RAID5. Since this is not a task we perofrm on a regular basis I thought we could simply look up the steps online, and it would be a simple process to add the disks, and configure them into a RAID1. I have not ben able to find a step by step procedure anywhere, and I eant to make sure we don't make any mistakes, as this is an active produciton server with our ERP on it.

DL380 Gen10 8LFF + 2SFF front HDD Kit

Hello, I am trying to install OS to the front 2SFF SAS drives but the motherboard will only see the SATA LFF drives. 

I removed the LFF ones and it still will not display the 2 sas drives anywhere in the boot/install options, intelligent provisioning etc.

My storage controller is the S100i.

Do I need to enable something in the BIOS or what did i do wrong?

I don't want to install OS in the SATA HDDs.

Hi All,

 We recently purchased a DL380Gen10 CTO server and withthat we ordered a PCI SSD:

HPE 1.6TB PCIe x8 Lanes Mixed Use HHHL (877825-B21)

This is the first time we have this kind of hardware (PCI SSD NVME) from HPE. Last year we used Intel DCP3700 on ProLiant servers with success, but we decided to have genuine HPE products in this system. However we noticed that there little to no software support for this hardware. The 877825-B21 seems to be from Samsung Electronics (chipset). 

Also when viewing the hardware in HPE Storage Administrator gives no SSD Wear Status (not supported).

We also have a HPE 800GB NVMe x4 Lanes Mixed Use SFF (2.5in) SCN (875595-B21) in antoher system, and also there is no software/drivers available.

note: we installated the ServicePack from October 2017.

Is there anyone who has the same experience or even better: available drivers and firmwares?

Hi ,

I faced issue during update " Intelligent Provisioning" , the message show "Error Flashing NVRAM".

My device name is "ProLiant DL560 Gen8". Normally can't use "Intelligent Provisioning", then I'd like to up to date new version of Intelligent Provisioning ( New pasket is "Ver 1.63) , Issue popup "Error Flashing NVRAM".

 

Pls help to give me the solution for fix that one.
