Hi all,
I have a problem in old ML350G5 server as follows:
=> ctrl slot=0 show config
Smart Array E200i in Slot 0 (Embedded) (sn: XXX )
array A (SAS, Unused Space: 0 MB)
logicaldrive 2 (279.4 GB, RAID 1, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:1 (port 1I:box 1:bay 1, SAS, 300 GB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:2 (port 1I:box 1:bay 2, SAS, 300 GB, OK)
array B (SATA, Unused Space: 0 MB)
logicaldrive 3 (2.7 TB, RAID 5, Interim Recovery Mode)
physicaldrive 2I:1:5 (port 2I:box 1:bay 5, SATA, 1 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 2I:1:6 (port 2I:box 1:bay 6, SATA, 1 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 2I:1:7 (port 2I:box 1:bay 7, SATA, 0 MB, Failed)
physicaldrive 2I:1:8 (port 2I:box 1:bay 8, SATA, 1 TB, OK)
unassigned
physicaldrive 1I:1:4 (port 1I:box 1:bay 4, SATA, 1 TB, OK)
The drive in 2I:1:7 has failed, controller did not detect new drive when it was inserted in bay 7. Rebooting server with new drive inserted did not help. It might be some backplane issue.
As it's remote location I've instructed the local person to insert the new drive into bay 4.
But I'm not abe to modify this array:
=> ctrl slot=0 array B add spares=1I:1:4

=> ctrl slot=0 array B modify drives=1I:1:4,2I:1:5,2I:1:6,2I:1:8
