HP Dynamic Smart Array B140i Controller - using RAID mode
4x HPE 1TB 6G SATA 7.2K rpm LFF (3.5in) SC Standard (858594-B21)

I have one question concerning one of my physical sevrer : Proliant ML350 G8, currently ESXI is install on this server with 4 VMs but it is possible to install only a Windows server 2012 for exemple ? I didn't find anything concerning this subject on the internet.

We have 2 DL360p Gen8 servers, both have 2xCPU E5-2630L and 32GB RAM (8x4GB Genuine HP memory), SA420i with 1GB cache.
Installed Windows 2016, updated FW to the latest, installed drivers from the latest SPP
Both servers crash with:
Uncorrectable PCI Express Error (Embedded device, Bus 0, Device 28, Function 7, Error status 0x00100000)
STOP: 0x00000080 (0x00000000004F4454, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000))
I read some troubleshooting steps already and did the following:
Set the memory refresh to Auto
Set Power Mode to static high peformance/disable C6
Removed PCI Raiser Board
Removed SA cache module
NOTHING helps.
Server 1 was configured as AD everything was going fine and all of a sudden after another reboot it refuses to come up. It just doesn't want to boot to OS, period. Crashes every time Windows starts loading.
Server 2 just crashed upon restart but is booting up on the second try. I'm afraid it will start crashing all the time as well.

I have an array 5 configuration with a rescent drive failed , also have array configuration utility software (web based) 8.40.4.0 version , and now there is newest 9.40.12.0 version, my question is :
Could we update from 8.40 to 9.40 without facing problems ?

I run an HP Proliant Server DL20 Gen9, with a windows 10 OS, which has been fine upto the 1709 Fall Creators update. This update loads, installs and after reboot, the server just hangs, showing the light blue window on a black background for ever ( upto 2 days ) and never shows the small circle of dots rotating as in normal boot. I have to power off using power button, and reboot to get back to the previous windows but I cannot stop it trying to install it again !
Any suggestions on fixing this ?

I'm upgrading my current server ( ML 560 g9) and i though about using smartcache with writeback to improve overall server perfromance. Unfortunatelly there is not enough data on hpe pages / and google .
I wonder whether anyone here is using this tech ?
I though about this setup ( for sql server )
22 x 10k SAS raid 10 ( p440ar 2GB controller)
2x800G ( raid1) SAS SSD MU As smartcache writeback.

Looking at the scripting toolkit (v11.05) there's no conrep xml file for this particular model.

Hi,
we are experiencing some problems running a non-HPE P100 GPU in a DL380 G9.
The Server is equiped with the high performace fans, the GPU enabler kit and two 1400W power supplies.
The fan do not speed up (according to the iLo) to more than 15%, even if the GPU is alreay reducing speed by it's high temperatur (82°C and more).
Is there anything more to do, to run non-HPE P100 GPUs in the DL380 G9?

I have a Proliant G10 and need to partition the harddrive. It is 1.2 TB total space. We create it with Raid 6 ADG. We need one Partition for the operating system at 200 GB with the rest of the space to the remaining parttion. With the G10 I am unable to create the partitions with these deminision. Although when using the G9 we were able to create it this way. Both are usinge 2012 r2.
Any help would be appriciated

i've this problem. Trying to update server with SPP 2017.04 ( i've seen it's the last FULL Gen8 SPP ).
With 2015 and 2016 SPP i had no problems.
I've prepared USB bootable key and when Launch as Admin logged in the launch_hpsum.bat , after few seconds a command message box pop up with
"Error: Cannot launch hpsum_service_x64.exe locally. Reason: General failure. (Co
nnection failed: This can happen if ports 63001 or/and 63002 are in use by anoth
er application, or blocked by firewall settings. Please check the troubleshootin
g guide to know the application that is using the ports. To unblock the firewall
settings, please restart HP SUM with open_firewall option.)"
I've disabled temporary Win Firewall, ESET Firewall, Stopped IIS Service, Checked another instance with netstat -ano without solutions.
What wen wrong? I can use that SPP on my Gen8 ?

There's a lot information online about these products but everyone of them are wrong.
How do I know this? We have a lot of these servers under support contract, right now we are in negotiation for this year.
Sadly for us, HPE doesn't list this information, and I couldn't get it from my account manager, in essence HPE makes more difficult to sale the need it upgrades to our bosses.

I have HP ProLiant DL160 Gen9 with raid 5. What i need is to get the RebuildCompletionPercentage from the iLo api. I have tried several http get queries but non of them worked . Also if i browse iLo web interface percentage completed is not shown during rebuild only "Status Degraded(Rebuilding) " appears. iLo version is 4

Noticed this addition to the 2.55 ILO4 firmware release, thought I would give it a go in a few of our test labs where we don't bother with CA issued certs, but I don't see any new buttons or features in the ILO Web Inerface to initiate this "regeneration". I checked in the RBSU and didn't see anything there, nor in the F8 menu at boot time. I haven't ssh'd in to check there yet. Just figured I would ask here: Anyone figured out how this gets done? I am looking for something like HP SoftPaq Download Manager....but for servers.
I have used SPP 2017.10 to update my servers, and that works great. I'm sure there is just newer versions and wanted to do that as part of my Windows update cycles.
I have a mix of DL360 G7, DL380p G8, and DL380 G9. Centralized would be great, but I am okay with something I run on each machine.
I typically work with Dell, and they have Open Manage Essentials for centralized and Dell Command Update for single runs. Have not quite found the HP/HPE equivalent. I installed HP System Insight Manager, and see the option for Software/Firmware Baselines, but not sure how to tell it to look wherever for new software.

I have HP Proliant ML110 G7 Server with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Installed. Yesterday i've installed Genetec (Video Management System) for our needs, just after the installation completes the server went to UID mode.
I can't able to come out of the UID mode even i tried unplugging the power chord and replug.
Please help me to solve the issue....

Several days ago, I replaced the internal battery of the BBWC for the Smart Array P410i controller since I was getting messages in the log of the insight agent that the previous battery was depleted.
Error Code: capacitor-based cache module capacitor failed to charge
After the replacement, the server (HP DL360 G7) booted, and still works, just fine but ever since although the HP System Management reports that the overall system health is OK, every 14-20 hours I get in the Intergraded management log the following msg
drive array controller failure (slot 0)
I' m guessing that the problem is with the BBWC module but did any of you seen anything like this before? Can I just ignore the message since the system health is OK? Any suggestions?
