Convert RAID 0 to RAID 5 P440ar controller

In reading other forums I think this is possible but would like some reinforcement, as I don't see anyone having the same configuration I have. I have a HP ProLiant ML350 Gen 9 with a HP Smart Array P440ar controller firmware ver 3.00. It currently has 6 out of 8 bays with 600GB drives in it. I have 2 extra 600 GB drives here. Windows server 2012 is installed with 4 partitions (2 system created, 1 for OS, 1 for storage). Can I install the
two extra drives I have add these to the drive array and convert this from RAID 0 to RAID 5 for redundancy without having to reinstall Windows or losing data? This is our Exchange server so any recommendations or tips is much appreciated.

Firmware update and backup system ROM

I have some Proliant DL380 Gen9 servers and ended up installing the P89 v2.54 firmware before it was pulled off the support site. Everything has been working OK, however now that I am planning the upgrade to the newest released firmware I am wondering about the backup system ROM. Since the last stable version is considered to be P89 v2.52 is there a way for me to have that remain my backup system ROM during the Firmware flash process, or will it be fine to let the process replace that with v2.54? I have never had to boot to redundant ROM, but if the need ever did arise I would hate to boot to a potentially unstable release.

Is it possible to install Windows 10 on a HP Micro G7 N36L MicroServer?

I've successfully installed the OS, but am having a hard time getting the nic to play ball.  It looks fine in the device manager, but thinks that there is no ethernet cord plugged in.

I have it plugged into a known working port, and there activity lights on the server.

ML350 G4 help

Good day, I got this very old server from a friend. I require an update to its BIOS. Version:2007.07.16 (A) (24 Jan 2008) is the BIOS I require. It requires entitlement but I do not such warranty contracts nor can I afford it. I am in South Africa and the exchange rate is very harsh. Is there ANY way I can get the bios without spending R10k?

DL 785 G5 doesn't post after adding 8 new CPUs!!

Hi,
I just replaced 8 older CPUs(2.3Ghz) with 8 new CPUs(2.9Ghz) in the company's DL 785 G5 Proliant server. It has been over 15 minutes since i powered the server on and it still hasn't posted. There are no beeping red lights to indicate if anything is wrong. I used the old casing slot modules where the cpu, memory slots, and board reside. I didn't use the new ones that came with the new cpu(s) since they look the same as the ones in the slots already. Let me know if i did something wrong. Thanks.

ML350 Gen10 stuck in "Attempt firmware Update"

Hi,

 

I have a ML350 Gen10 which is stuck in "Attempt Firmware Update" when I fress F10 to enter Intelligent Provisioning. I'm not really sure how it happened but I think it was when I was trying out the new "Always On" feature that it got stuck there.

I have tried to reboot make the server powerless for a while but everytime I boot in to Intelligent Provisioning it gets me to the same screen. It just says "Waiting To Be Processed... 0%".

How do I get out of this? It feels pretty stupid that you don't have any buttons to cancel or go back or anything other than Language, Help, System Information and Power.

 

I need to insatll an operating system on this via Intelligen Provisioning so I need to get out of this.

How do I do this?

DL380 G5 Drive bay red light issue

Hi everyone, I couldn't find a previous post with this problem through searching but I have a DL380 G5 with the HP Smart Array P400 controller and iLO is giving me a constant error "POST Error: 1720-S.M.A.R.T. Hard Drive Detects Imminent Failure". It is the second drive bay so I swapped in a brand new drive and it rebuilt the raid array but an hour later the red blinking light comes back with the same error. I swapped the old drive back in, rebuilt the array again and it gives the error no matter what. Does anyone have a clue as to what is wrong or what I can do to solve this issue. Thanks in advance.

Unable to install Win Server 2016 on DL580 Gen8

Hello,

Today I was trying to install fresh version on Win Server 2016 (Standard) on my DL580 Gen8.

I prepare fresh RAID for SSD drivers and is visible by RAID Drivers. After successfull but and choose langauge of system, we proceed smoothly to point where we choose media to install windows. And to our suprice we got info: no device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click ok...

And there are two problems:

1) I couldn't find any drivers to download to this server

2) strangely there are any drivers on installation disc...

Maybe you can help and point whan need to be done to resolve this ;)

Problem running SPP 2018/03 on Gen9 Server

I've gone to use the latest SPP which has only just come out on a Gen 9 server to update the firmware on the server, but i keep getting the following error when i mount the SPP through virtual media (iLO) 

It gets the screen where you can select interactive or automatic update, and then it crashes out with

alloc magic is broken at 0x5a537780: 84008fa4
Aborted. Press any key to exit.

Just wondering if anyone else has also had this error?

p410i license

Hello,

I have a DL385 G7 server and I want use RAID 6. I ordered a FBWC with 1GB kit + license. I received and installed kit in first. Installed and while waiting for the license, I use demo license get by :

Today, my reseller say : "HPE no longer sells this license"

I have already data in my array.

The P410i show demo without end of trial period.

How can sure, this license is forever ?

Instalação discos SAS

Olá caros, como vão?

Estou com um problema para a instalação de unidades SAS em um Proliant ML350p Gen 8 mas creio que seja somente com esse equipamento.

O caso é o seguinte, o servidor tem dois discos SATA que funcionam perfeitamente no equipamento, mas como teremos uma migração de sistema, era desejavel melhorar a configuração do servidor, instalando discos SAS para melhor desempenho para a base de dados.

Já verifiquei que a controladora p420i é compatível com os discos SAS e foi comprados discos aceitaveis a controladora (Mas não os originais HP por motivo de não encontrar).

Bom, fiz a atualização do firmware da controladora antes de tudo, atualizei a iLO também, porém quando eu instalei os discos, o servidor dispara os coolers e fica com sinal de erro (LED VERMELHO), até um momento que ele desliga.

Ele dispara assim após eu entrar na configuração da controladora para criar o Array.

Verifiquei os logs na iLO e o log de erro é superaquecimento do servidor. (Automatic Operating System Shutdown Initiated Due to Overheat Condition)

Alguém já passou por uma situação dessa?

I am having a problem installing SAS drives on a Proliant ML350p Gen 8 but I believe it is only with this equipment.
The case is as follows, the server has two SATA disks that work perfectly on the machine, but since we will have a system migration, it was desirable to improve the server configuration by installing SAS disks for better performance for the database.
 
I have already verified that the p420i controller is compatible with the SAS disks and the drives have been bought by the controller (but not the HP originals because it can not be found).
 
Well, I did update the controller firmware first of all, I updated iLO too, but when I installed the disks, the server fires the coolers and gets an error signal (RED LED), until it turns off.
 
It fires like this after I get into the controller configuration to create the Array.
 
I checked the logs in iLO and the error log is server overheating. (Automatic Operating System Shutdown Initiated Due to Overheat Condition)

Cannot update Intellingent Provisioning

Hi all,

Well i have a problem updating (1.70) Intelligent Provisioning on my HP Proliant DL380p Gen8. Also when i press F10 Intelligent Provisioning is not starting and go straight to boot my OS. Intellingent Provisioning is enabled in my bios.

When i go to update Intelligent Provisioning it is stuck on 80%. I created a USB stick with the HP tools, load a ISO in ILO tried other versions (1.63) but that also is being stuck on 80%

Somebody can help me with this issue?

HP Smart Array B110i Windows Server 2016 dirvier, does such a thing exist apart from the generic MS driver?

I have searched the HPE site and the latest driver I can find is for 2012 R2.

How to update Smart Storage Battery firmware

Hello,

I have 2 DL 380 Gen9 with the same ILo Firmware. However the Smart storage battery firmware are not the same(1.1 and 2.1) so one of my server have Smart Storage battery 1 Status FAILED.

 

How can i update the firmware ?
