DL 785 G5 doesn't post after adding 8 new CPUs!!

Hi,
I just replaced 8 older CPUs(2.3Ghz) with 8 new CPUs(2.9Ghz) in the company's DL 785 G5 Proliant server. It has been over 15 minutes since i powered the server on and it still hasn't posted. There are no beeping red lights to indicate if anything is wrong. I used the old casing slot modules where the cpu, memory slots, and board reside. I didn't use the new ones that came with the new cpu(s) since they look the same as the ones in the slots already. Let me know if i did something wrong. Thanks.

Unable to clean install Windows Server 2008 R2 on HP DL120 G5

Hi,

I've spent the last few days trying to solve the problem of not being able to find the hard disk when installing windows server 2008 r2 on an old server. I would like to install a Domain Controller into this server.

The error was: No drives were found, click Load Driver.

Then I tried to do drive formatting and it was successfully completed. But still getting same error of No drives found. I'm not sure if it has something to do with RAID or anything else. I'm not familiar with RAID.

Please help.

Ich besitzte einen HP-Server wo das ILO 4 funktioniert hat, es war aber im Browser sehr sehr langsam.

Dann habe ich das ILO über die Setttings vor dem POST zurückgesetzt und nun bekomme ich folgende Meldung:

Integrated lights-out configuration temporarily not available.

Kann mir da jemand helfen, was ich da jetzt tun könnte?

How to re-enable port 80 in iLO 5

We have got finding from IT Audit that port 80 got open and need to be closed in our HPE Proliant DL380 Gen10 server. I look that iLO using https protocol so i think i would be ok to close port 80. After I disable port 80, i cannot accessed iLO anymore so i want to re-enable port 80.

How do i re-enable port 80? Do i have to reset the iLO to default?

HDD seagate on Proliant ML30 Gen9

Hello.

I have just to buy a Proliant ML30 Gen9 with two hdd 1Tb hp. I created a raid 1 with these hp disks and all go fine. Then I bought 1 disc of 2Tb seagate barracuda and another of 4Tb also seagate barracuda. The smart array controller b140i detects that they are not genuine and although they work in windows server 2016 the alert LED is on. The firmware of my controller is version 4.04 and hp tells me that they are not their discs and they do not support me.
Is it possible to solve it?

Split Mirror Backup Issue

In a Proliant DL360 G8 with 3x RAID1 arrays we split each of the arrays from the ACU within Intelligent Provisioning. This was performed prior to patching the OS and application running on it.

As we are happy that the patching has gone OK we now want to re-mirror the arrays.

Array A and B both offer the 'Manage Split Mirror Backup' option in SSA, however the third, Array C does not.

(Array A & B both have 2 logical drives, but Array C only has one logical drive)

I know that I used the 'Create Split Mirror Backup' option on each of them (I created a video of the iLO session, and I have checked).

The controller is a P420i with firmware v8.00, using SSA 2.60.18.0.

What should we do to re-establish the RAID1 arrays that we had before they were split?

We performed similar steps on the server before without having any problems, the firmware of the server and P420i have not changed since, however the initial splitting of the array may have been performed within SSA from a SPP disk rather than using the ACU within Intelligent Provisioning.

DL 160 Gen 6 BIOS Recovery

Hi!

Pls help (((

DL 160 G6, after flash to latest BIOS Version 2013.07.01 (from USB, no warrnings via flash) and reboot system - no VIDEO, FAN on MAX Speed, server dead ((( Clean CMOS via jumper - not help. When install 27-C jumper (BIOS Recovery) and plug same firmware made by HP USB key Setup Creation Utility system try USB boot (indicator on USB stick blink as read for some time), but recovery not working i think. I wait 20-30 min after recovery and reboot - same, no VIDEO, FAN on max speed. I try format flash and place renamed bios file as AMIBOOT.ROM, run server with 27-C jumper (BIOS Recovery)  ... not working

Help to recovery server, it's out of warranty but was fully working till BIOS update ....     

P.S. I also try few lagacy BIOS revisions, made by HP USB key Setup Creation Utility  - no luck. System try do something from USB flash, but server not back to normal state ...

P.P.S. IPMI ILO100i on server work normal, i can access it via WEB or com port ... HW show as normal

Proliant ML110 GEN10 Intelligent Provisioning do not select controller

I'm configuring a new Proliant ML110 GEN10 through intelligent provisioning, but I can not continue with the configuration of the operating system. The program does not seem to detect the server's smart array, and it does not allow me to select disk and controller (attachment 001).

I have configured an array from the System Utilities,  but it is still not detected.

Even the SSA doesn't see the array. (attachment 002, 003).

I want to install windows server 2016.

SL230s/SL250s/SL270s Sandy Bridge to Ivy Bridge Motherboard Upgrade

I'm curious if anyone out there has ever attempted to swap out the motherboard on SL2x0 Gen8 server from the original Sandy Bridge versions that support the E5-2600 processors to the newer Ivy Bridge (IVB) version that supports the newer E5-2600 v2 processors.  Current HPE part numbers are similar, but I'm not sure if the IVB version (802612-001) is a drop-in replacement for the SB version (802611-001).

Thoughts?

HP DL360p Gen8 8 SFF - wrong drive addressing

Hi,

we have four DL 360p Gen8 + the embeded P420i (FW 8.00) + the 8 SFF drive backplane (667868-001). Each filled with 8 original HP HDDs. Running OS is LefthandOS  

At three of them the drive addressing is OK. Running HPSSACLI we get the follwowing Port-Box-Bay information:

1I:1:1 (port 1I:box 1:bay 1, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
1I:1:2 (port 1I:box 1:bay 2, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
1I:1:3 (port 1I:box 1:bay 3, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
1I:1:4 (port 1I:box 1:bay 4, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
2I:1:5 (port 2I:box 1:bay 5, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
2I:1:6 (port 2I:box 1:bay 6, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
2I:1:7 (port 2I:box 1:bay 7, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
2I:1:8 (port 2I:box 1:bay 8, SAS, 600 GB, OK)

But on one of them the addressing seems to be wrong, as we get the following:

1I:1:1 (port 1I:box 1:bay 1, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
1I:1:2 (port 1I:box 1:bay 2, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
1I:1:3 (port 1I:box 1:bay 3, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
1I:1:4 (port 1I:box 1:bay 4, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
2I:0:5 (port 2I:box 0:bay 5, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
2I:0:6 (port 2I:box 0:bay 6, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
2I:0:7 (port 2I:box 0:bay 7, SAS, 600 GB, OK)
2I:0:8 (port 2I:box 0:bay 8, SAS, 600 GB, OK)

This addressing causes big problems... For some reason the drives 5-8 seem to be connected to "box 0". In the Smart Array Administrator I can see that drives 1-4 are correctly shown as connected to Drive Enclosure Port 1l Box 1. But drives 5-8 are connected to the "embedded P420i"... While on all other servers drives 5-8 are also connected to Enclosure Port 2l Box1...

I already tried to exchange cables, installing another P420, and downgrading controller FW and iLO FW. But the issue seems to persist. Unfortunately the three other servers are used in production, so I cannot swap the backplanes.

My guess is the backplane is the reason for this. But maybe somebody has another idea what could be the reason for this or how to solve this problem?

Server goes to Legacy BIOS mode after reboot

Hello 

I have HP Proliant DL360 G9 server with System Rom P89 V2.52 , im insist on using UEFI mode but i dont know why after rebooting the server it loads with legacy bios mode and system says after another reboot everything goes well , any idea to troubleshoot this ?

I just started a server that worked 1 mont ago.Now when i turn it on next to the ram i have amber lights no matter what ram i put in, server does not display anything, there is a 5 sec beep every 5 sec.

Hi,

i have bought ML 350 Gen9 and using Windows 2012 R2 Standard edition.

Trying to find drivers but it's becoming a gigantic task. When i search on HP website it returns "We are sorry but your search produced 0 results.".

There are some stuff missing to install, such Base System Device, PCI device, Performance Counters, SM Bus Controller and System Interrupt Controller"

Where can i find this drivers?

When will you have finished testing Intel's latest microcode update for the Xeon in your ML10 Gen9?

Would be nice to know when to expect the bios update (I had assumed BIOS_1.10 was it but it seems not) or if there is another update I should be applying? Thanks Paul
