Unable to fix bmc 601 error [ML150G6]

Hello All,

As the title suggest I have a BMC 601 error on my HP Proliant ML150G6, and I've been unable to fix it thus far.

A post suggested that I need to flash the lights out software to fix this, but I can't find anywhere to download this or how to flash it. I've inserted an ethernet jack in both the ports and I read somewhere I should set the IP to static in my bios > advanced > ipmi, but all ip related options there are greyed out.

I have installed an E5540 with 2x4GB and a 250GB harddisk with Windows Server 2008 R2.

I hope I haven't left out anything but feel free to ask otherwise.

Hello,

I have 11 x 3TB disks in raid 5 + 1 spare. Yesterday, one disk failed, and raid stated to rebuild. few hours later, our DC support detect, that failed disk and replace it, but during the work thay remove wrong disk and raid change state to failed. Of course, DC team return normal disk, but raid still failed.
So, now I have next situation:

logicaldrive 2 (27.3 TB, RAID 5, Failed)

physicaldrive 1I:1:3 (port 1I:box 1:bay 3, SATA, 3 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:4 (port 1I:box 1:bay 4, SATA, 3 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:5 (port 1I:box 1:bay 5, SATA, 3 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:6 (port 1I:box 1:bay 6, SATA, 3 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:7 (port 1I:box 1:bay 7, SATA, 3 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:8 (port 1I:box 1:bay 8, SATA, 3 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:10 (port 1I:box 1:bay 10, SATA, 3 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:11 (port 1I:box 1:bay 11, SATA, 3 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:12 (port 1I:box 1:bay 12, SATA, 3 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:13 (port 1I:box 1:bay 13, SATA, 0 MB, Failed)
physicaldrive 1I:1:14 (port 1I:box 1:bay 14, SATA, 3 TB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:9 (port 1I:box 1:bay 9, SATA, 3 TB, OK, spare)

How I can return OK raid state?

We have got finding from IT Audit that port 80 got open and need to be closed in our HPE Proliant DL380 Gen10 server. I look that iLO using https protocol so i think i would be ok to close port 80. After I disable port 80, i cannot accessed iLO anymore so i want to re-enable port 80.

How do i re-enable port 80? Do i have to reset the iLO to default?

Thank You.

DL360e Gen8 Dynamic SmartArray B120i not recognizing SAS disks

Hello everybody,

i bought a HP DL360e Gen8 and 4 SAS 600GB HDD's but don't manage the SmartArray controller to recognize them. I also noticed that the amber lights on the disk caddies are not shining the same on all disks. Some turn off after the initial flashing after insertion. But i highly doubt that the're all broken and testing them one by one brought no success.

 Any help appreciated.

Everythings green, and updated.  This server was mothballed and braught back to be a test box but I can only get one CPU to show up.  I have tried reseting everything to defaults, trying replacement blades, unplugging all but two of hte blades.

Bios version is A15 05/02/2011.

Shows Proc 1: AMD 2.80GHZ, GMB L3 Cache, and 2 through 8 as Not Installed.

Anybody have any ideas?

Automate selected components firmware upgrade on HP Proliant server

Hello,

I'm looking for a way to automate firmware upgrade of HP Proliant server components. Especially these ones:

- NIC card
- BIOS (System ROM)
- SmartArray controller

iLO firmware can be easily upgraded by using RedFish API but the rest is a kind of mystery for me. I have found and downloaded Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) Version 2017.10.1. It worked like a charm without any user interaction required. However it has its downsides:

- ISO image is too large - 5.1G which becomes a problem for remote servers with slow connection
- It upgrades everything just like that. I need a control over the upgrade: what components will be upgraded to which version

I explored the ISO little bit. I see there is a script smartupdate and I presume it is launched upon a boot. I have issues with extracting initrd.img. It is not possible standard way using cpio. I searched on google but nothing helped. File is saying it's data so I don't have any clue about the format of this file. There is also directory packages which seems to hold all the RPMs and firmwares. Best would be to do cherry picking of them and integrate them into HPE SSTK ISO which I use for disk RAID configuration (see my thread: Remote Smart Array configuration using CLI/API through iLO (without OS) )

Does anyone have experience with components firmware upgrade?

Server 2012 hangs after cmd reboot

Hi all,

I sometimes need to reboot a Windows 2012 R2 based on on DL380 Gen9, because one of my vm lose its network connection on Hyper-V, but it's not my main problem for the moment.
My main problem is that when I reboot it remotely via cmd and shutdown -r, it comes normally to logon screen, mouse is working on iLO, but I can't RDP on it or use CTRL+ALT+DEL on iLO. I'm obliged to reset it on iLO, which is a terrible idea but the only one working on my case. After that reboot it comes back normally every time.

I recently updated firmwares and BIOS via SPP.

Any ideas is welcome !

Thanks in advance

Hello all,

can someone tell me if this raid controller 'HP P400 Raid Controller 256 MB' fits into the HP ProLiant DL360e 8gen Server? I bought some SAS disks but found out later that the DL360e with the standart smart-array controller B120i does not support SAS disks.

Kind regards.

I would like to setup an Administrator password on servers remotely.  When a server is installed, it can have dhcp assign an IP to iLO, and I thought you could run curl to the url to post xml data w/o authentication.  How else could you automate a new server deployment?

How Sata without Raid Controller in HP Proliant ML150 G6

$

Hello,

We have HP Proliant ML150 G6 server (P410 Raid Controller) with 4 x 2TB Sata HDDs. I want to see each drive separately in OS. I can't create 4 x Raid 0, it says: You cannot crate another logical drive. You have reached the maximum number of logical drives supported by ORCA.

1. Why can't I create Raid 0 more than 2?
2. Can I create Sata drives without Raid Controller in order to have 4 separate drives?

ProLiant ML10 V2 Flashing Red Health

First two complaints about the forum. I can't copy and paste within this page - wow, okay. Also, I could not login to my original account even after resetting my password - it helps telling me it is expired. This site isn't user friendly whatsoever. That out of the way....

I have a flashing red health light. I reset my PSU with a switch on the back and it cleared, but I was wondering if I can enter BIOS or ILO and look at fault/event logs or something of the sort. My OS probably isn't going to have stored any fault since it appears to have occured while the system was in standby (off/orange power light). So far I haven't had any repeat.

Any help with my server welcome, thanks.

Move arrays from Smart Array B140i to P440

$

I need to confirm the correct process for replacing an onboard B140i controller with a standup pci P440 controller.

This is a Proliant ML30 Gen9 running Windows Server 2016, and I need to move two existing arrays (both RAID1) from the B140i to the new P440 (intact).

However, after going through the docs, I'm confused as to the proper steps.

My understanding is that I should

  1. Make sure the existing server, controller, and disk firmware is up to date
  2. Power down and physically install the new card
  3. Boot to Windows and install the driver, then verify the card is recognized by the OS
  4. Power down and move the cables to connect the P440 to the drive cage
  5. Boot and the arrays should move over intact

However - some of the docs say that the B140i and P440 "cannot be mixed" so I am wondering how step three will work, since I would still be booting from the B140 at that point with the P440 installed but not connected to any drives.  Is that possible?

And if not, how then can I get the proper windows drivers for the new card installed, since the installer will abort if it does not see that the hardware is present?

Would really love someone to confirm the correct steps, since I need to install this card for a customer tomorrow afternoon!

Thanks,

Kerry

Замена HDD SAS на сервере DL380G6

Здравствуйте!

Подскажите пожалуйста, как заменить жеский диск на сервере: DL380G6
жеский диск: HP 300GB hot-swap dual-port Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) hard drive - 10,000 (493083-001)

Can a DL360e LFF bay + backplane be replaced with a DL360p SFF bay + backplane (667868-001)?

$

0

Currently I own a HP DL360e with a LFF bay configuration. However, I want to replace this bay with a SFF configuration. Since buying a new official part (684961-001) is quite over my budget, I've been searching the internet for a while. Even tho I found some advertizements containing the right partnumber for my DL360e, they seem not to be reading my messages.

I did however, find someone selling a SFF bay (pn: 667868-001) for a DL360p which is not the same as my DL360e. My question is, is the DL360e compactable with a SFF bay from a DL360p with partnumber 667868-001?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Rick
