DL580 G5 fatal boot errors

This computer worled perfectly up until a few days ago.

Now if I reset the BIOS, it boots fine once, then on rebooting:

1st reboot: internal error red LED, continous long beeps, all yellow leds lit, sits on code 30, amber LED lit internally near readout, no post

2nd time: external LED flashing, cpu 1 LED yellow, same code, no post.

I pulled everything: PCIe cards, drives in or out doesnt matter. All power supplies seem healthy., pulled CPU's, memory, air cleaned sockets, reinsert, switched cpu and memory spots.

if I reset BIOS with pulling power and battery or switch 6, same sequence of events.

Mise à jour de la carte smart Array P440ar v5.04

J'ai un serveur HP Proliant DL380 Gen9 ou j'ai configuré 2 unités logiques Raid 1 et raid 5, sauf que après quelques minutes d'observation, la carte smart array plante et les ventilateurs produisent un bruit excessif.

Après recherche, il ressort que pour resoudre le defaut il faut update le micrologiciel de la carte smart à la version 5.04.

J'ai teléchargé le fichier iso SPP2018030.iso, mais je n'arrive pas à créer la clé bootable.

j'ai une machine Win10, pour créer la clé bootable, j'ai utilisé

  • HPE USB Key utilty : s'est excécuté mais n'a pas fonctionné, n'a pas pu ecrire dans la clé
  • Rufus: Clé créé, mais n'arrive pas à demarrer la maise à jour fichicer vesamenu.C32 introuvable alors qu'il est visible
  • PowerIso: Clé créé mais bug après

 

Y a t il une astuce?

Create bootable USB key for Firmware update

i am Working to create bootable USB key for firmware update after downloading iso file: SPP2018030.iso

my PC is WIN10, by using

  • HPE USB key utility: No succeeded
  • Rufus: No succeeded
  • Power Iso: No succeeded

Is there another way to solve this?

HP Proliant DL580 G5 won't boot with GTX 1060 3GB | no post

Hello,

i have a problem. My HP Proliant DL580 G5 will not boot with a GTX 1060 3GB. It stucks at BIOS Code: 52.

With a GTX 960 the System normally boot up.

Why the Server don't start with the GTX 1060? I don't have any idea. 

Maybe anyone of you know the Answer. I have the BIOS Version "P61" from 2011.

SSA RAID50

Hi,

is it possible to create a RAID50 array with 7, 11 or 13 hard drives?
SSA won't allow selection of RAID50, only RAID 0,5 and6.

Raid50 works with 6 or 10 hard drives.

HPE SUM ISSUE: Could not successfully connect to host.

Hi Team,

We are updating the HPE firmware using SPP SUM tool.

Steps Followed:

  • Download SPP ISO locally
  • Right click and select mount option (will be mounted on DVD Drive D:/E: )
  • Navigate to DVD Drive
  • Click on launch_sum [Batch File]
  • Wait till the UI launches in Browser
  • Click on Add Baseline [Location Type : Browse SUM Server path, path : E:\packages]
  • Click on Add Node [ Ipv4 - <ilo ip>, Node type- Onboard administrator, Baseline- select the added baseline, usrname,pwd]
  • Select Added Node and click on Inventory
  • When inventory is done, click on Review and deploy

we are able to do add baseline and node details and inventory.

when we click review and deploy we are getting the error saying that "Could not successfully connect to host. </map1/firmware1>hpiLO-> Error: failed to start iLO firmware update"

Can you please help us will the solution.

SSD lifespan

Hello,

Proliant G10 DL 380.

I got three SSDs to run RAID 5:

The vendor informed me that it has lifespan of 4500 GB. Which means if my DB writes 50GB a day, then the SSDs will be dead within 100 days.

On the other side, the video below suggests that SSD are durable, we just need to keep 10% free.

ProLiant DL380 G5 - Keeps going into standby mode - ILO indicates Power supply 2 failure

Hi All,

We have a ProLiant DL380 G5 and it keeps powering down and goes into standby mode.  I checked ILO and indicates "POST Error: 1615-Power Supply Failure or Power Supply Unplugged in Bay 2".  I am new this team and if 1 power supply failes, does the server go into standby mode?  This has occured 5 times today.

Need the OID list for hardware or MIB file for ProLiant Gen10. 

 

Please don't give me links to ilo setup it is not working...Please bring back the system managment homepage it made everything so easy.

PowerShell for iLO fails for iLO5 SNMP alert desintation

I am trying to use Set-HPEiLOSNMPAlertDestination on an HPE GEN10 with iLO 5 and it is failing with:

Feature not supported.

So then I tried Get-HPEiLOSNMPAlertDestination to see if I could read the current settings.  That fails too with the same error.  I tried setting some values in the alert destination fields of the iLO5 manually using the web interface so that it had "something" to read from when using the PS cmdlet, and it still fails with the same error.

What am I doing wrong?  I need to set the alert desintation on the ilO so that is sends alerts to our HPE SIM server.  I see nothing in the documentation that this is not supported for the iLO5.  Only the "-TrapCommunityVersion" parameter is not supported on the ILO5 for the Set cmdlet, which I am not using.

Domain admin without local rights

Hello to everybody!

i've a strange problem on a new Proliant Dl20 gen9 server with Windows 2016 standard with desktop.

After installing Active Directory and DNS (a new normal domain and forest), domain admin losts its local right.

I cannot change logon account on many services, cannot change desktop icon, cannot access to many services (like event viewer) with access denied response, I get a rundll32.exe access denied (!!!!), Server Manager windows shows Unknown near every main server function (Windows Firewall:unknown; Windows Update:unknown ecc.) and so on. Anyway, AD and DNS seems working right.

Why this happens?  Have I miss something? I tried at least five installation with/without Intelligent Provisioning with same result. Media are original HP DVD (ROK). Same steps: installing windows, configuring network card with static ip, roles (AD+DNS) installation, post installation AD config with a simple forest and domain.

Someone does have an idea?

HPE Smartupdate ISSUE: Add Node failed for Node - localhost Reason: Failed to retrieve OS details

Hi Team,

We are trying to update the firmware using smartupdate cli,

We are following the below steps and we are facing the issue like not able to activate and reboot after deploying the firmware. 

Please help us with the correct steps if we missed and suggest us with the soution.

Steps are:

sudo ./smartupdate add --nodes <nodeip> --username="<username>" password="<password>"

sudo ./smartupdate add --baselines "<baselinepath>

sudo ./smartupdate inventory --nodes <node_ip> --baselines "<homedir>/packages/"

 

sudo ./smartupdate deploy --nodes 10.1.213.133

HP Proliant DL360e Gen8 System Board

Hello!

I have a Proliant DL360e Gen8 which has recently suffered some unfortunate failures and requires a replacement system board. I've managed to locate one, but with some compatibility worries. The p/n on the existing board is 647400-002 and the replacement I've found is 684956-001. The best info I've been able to find indicates that the 684956-001 board only supports E5-2400 series processors and my server does have an E5-2400, but a v2 processor. Sandy vs. Ivy Bridge. Is there anyone who might be able to let me know if swapping these boards would work?

Intelligent Provisioning Firmware Update times out

Hi all,

I can't ge a firmware update to install ona  new ML110 G10 server:

From the iLO console, selecting Intelligent Provisioning and clicking Always On, a firmware update notification appears. Clicking to accept the notification offers a firmware update. After starting the update the scroll bar indicates "downloading firmware list" then "Downloading GPE-3.10-11.x86_64.rpm... 21%"

The download does not complete and eventually displays "RequestError: Error: ETIMEDOUT...0%" (pics attached)

During the download, double clicking the download bar shows:

Intelligent Provisioning Images for Manufacturing
v3.10 ( Installed Version 3.00 )
gaius-3.10-222.x86_64.rpm
GPE-3.10-11.x86_64.rpm   (this has a rotating cog icon)
singularity-lpk-3.10-118.noarch.rpm
vid-3.00-69.x86_64.rpm

I've tried resetting the iLO but no change. The iLO ip is set using DHCP.

I've tried to enter a support case several times but keep getting a service not available error message.

Reinstall Intelligent Provisioning on a ProLiant Gen10

Hi,

I have a ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 which had its Intelligent Provisioning removed during some attempts to install Debian on it. I'm trying to reinstall Intelligent Provisioning but I haven't achieved it yet. Pressing F9 or F10 on the POST screen on server boot is not working. This is what I've tried so far:

- Create a bootable USB key using the USB Key Utility 3.0 and the ISO Intelligent Provisioning Recovery Media for Gen10. When I boot it, I got the next errors in this order:

iLO unresponsive - unable to continue
Error flashing the NVRAM - Please try again
fail to open the driver channel

- Tried the same as above burning a DVD and booting from a USB DVD player, same results.

- Downloaded Online ROM Flash Component for Linux - HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 and execute sh CP034170.scexe from a Debian install and a ClearOS install. Both returning the same error:

FLASH_iLO5 v3.04 for Linux (Apr 11 2018)
***** pciutils_find_subsystem_vendor failed! retcode=-1

ERROR: Can not find 6427392 on the server. []

- Downloaded Intelligent Provisioning recovery RPM package from https://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/repo/ip/ , installed on ClearOS and executed setup. I get the error:

error: Failed to initialize NSS library
cannot import name ts


Can I get some help in order to reinstall Intelligent Provisioning and get the server back to its "original" state?

AHS 1gb Log File

A have a big file Log (1gb).

To read the file, HP have a AHS online viewer, but the files can only be 250mb.

Does hp provide any tools for offline reading, other than forwarding to support?

Restoring Server 2012 R2 Backup Image on DL380 Gen9

I have a backup that I took using the native Windows Server Backup utility in Windows Server 2012 R2. I'm trying to now restore that backup on a DL380 Gen9. I can get as far as booting into a new install of Windows and going to the repair options where you can select to restore from an image, but I can't seem to get my external drive that contains the image to be detected. It has to be something i'm doing wrong because of UEFI. I've never had problems like this with Gen8 machines and older.

 

Any advice or things to try?
