Suggested GEN10 Workload Profile for Citrix Virtual Apps

Does anyone have a suggested workload profile to use for GEN10 servers hosting Citrix Virtual Apps (purely published application AKA XenApp) version 7.18.  The application hosted on these physical servers is a GIS application (from ESRI).

Six servers have around 20 users (Editors) on them at any one time.  Two servers host a less intensive version of the application and have around 45 users (Viewers) on them at any one time.

No special graphics cards are in the server - just whatever comes with a GEN10.

Each server has 96 GB of RAM and 2 24-Core 3.00 GHz Xeon Gold 6136 processors.

Currently the servers are set to the default of "General Power Effecient Computer".

HP Proliant DL380 Gen9 Server

Hi All,

I have a server Proliant DL380 Server. I would like to enable the four (4) network port but could not figure out how to do this. I have tried changing the settings from System Utilities but to no avail. Any help will be highly appreciated.

HP DL 380 won't boot - No POST

Hello.

After a long power failure the day before yesterday, an old but reliable (so far)  DL 380 G4 won't boot or show any POST information. After turning it on, the server starts testing each of the 6 SCSI disks  and lights  the activity led (arrow). After that, it turns both Activity and Online Status leds on the 4 disks that belong to the configured RAID 5 volume. The other 2 are one spare and one unconfigured. 

I've disconnected all RAM getting a audible and extended beep but sill no POST, tested all the memory banks with no errors, even disconnected the RAID controller memory. Nothing worked and I also didn't see any red or amber led in the motherboard. I left the server with the power chords unplugged for almost 24H but without any improvement.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks and regards.

HP Server P410I raid issues

I have an older HP DL360 G7 That i use at home. I have this really strange inconsistant problem.  I have 8 240GB ssd's in my server configured with RAID5.  I am running esxi 6.5 on my server. What happens is some times when I reboot the server the datastore doesnt show up.  HOwever when i try to add a new datastore I can see the drive.(some times) other times i reboot it and the datastore doesnt show up in vmware nor can i see it when i try to re-add the drive.  I just bought new sas cables, raid card, and battery and im still having the same issue.

Alert Error - SmartArray P420i - HP DL360p Gen8 E5-2630v2 Base US

I have a virtualized server in Vmware 5.5, within the Health Status it indicates that it has an alert in the Storage category, specifically in the SmartArray P420i controller but I do not have more information, that the error is due or how to see more detail.

DL380 Gen10 One Logical drive between two SAS Cages

Hi all, I would like to configure one DL380 Gen10 8SFF server with P816i-a controller  w / battery and additional SAS 8 SFF Drive Cage 

i will need to configure 12 1TB hard drives into single Logical drive, is it possible to configure single raid 5/6 from all 12 hard disks between to spearate sas cages?

Or i must configure DL380 24SFF Server?

proliant ml370 gen 5 not booting

I have a proliant ml370 gen 5 that i had to power down to move the server and now it will not boot.

I have tried to clear the cmos with dip switch #6 on and all i get when it boots is all solid green lights, fans on high, and a long repeating beep.

with dip switch off the server power cycles, begining with all green lights, then a red flashing internal health light, and an amber temp light.

any help would be welcome.

ProLiant DL360 G7 turns OFF after ~ 1 hour

Hi there,

since 4-5 Days I expericence an issue with my ProLiant DL360 G7. The Server turns OFF without beeing shut down.

The iLO Event-Log says:

For some reason the Server gets "reset". I have no clue why this should happen, we haven't changed anything to the servers configuration.

The temparatures are fine, the Power is fine aswell. Redundant and stable. But the Server turns off after about an hour.  It is not exactly an hour and the time period is not exactly the same each time it turns off. Sometimes the serve turns off after ~55 min and sometimes after 74 minutes or something like that.

Can anybody help how to find out whats going on there?

Can we add/Mix below mentioned RAM in HPE DL380 G9 server. IF yes how to add? A Single socket server with 6 Dual Rank DIMMS (809081-081 HPE 16GB (1 x 16GB) Dual Rank x4 DDR4-2400 CAS-17-17-17 Registered Memory Kit) already installed. We want to add "2 x 16GB rams".

Our available ram option is = " 805349-B21 HPE 16GB 1Rx4 PC4-2400T-R Kit "

DL360 Gen 9 with P440ar Controller not support ST1000NX0323 in RAID

Hello

 

I bought two drives ST1000NX0323 and i was trying to make RAID 1 on my DL360 Gen 9 with P440ar Controller but with no succes. I get warrnings that  " 1TB SAS 4Kn HDD at Port 2l : Box 1: Bay 6: This physical drive does not support RAID and is not exposed to OS. It connot be used for configuration onthis controller. "

 

How can i solve this problem?  Do i need to buy new drives ?

ML110 G9 disk cage SATA Rev 3.3 (?)

Currently, and there are some discs that control the power on and off of the disc, with the SATA Rev 3.3.

I wanted to ask if any of you knows if with the cage of hot-plug disks of this server, you could incorporate this type of disks.

iLO5 1.40 - shows "R&D Server" in text.

After updating to iLO 1.40 firmware, the GUI shows "R&D Server" in the top left corner.  See atttached screenshot.

I realize this is just "text" and should be harmless, but when I see this...its screams poor QA and lack of testing before releasing to the public.  What else got missed besides this, that IS harmful?

Integrated B120i Firmware version

Hi, we have a ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2 server (SKU 724160-035.) We're having a few minor issues with some new SSDs we have added to the onboard RAID controller (Smart Array B120i SATA RAID in Embedded Slot) and thought it might be worth checking the firmware version.

The HP SSA report shows:

RAM Firmware Revision: 6.00

ROM Firmware Revision: empty

Hardware Revision: 0x04

Is this the latest firmware available? I know we are running the latest RAID drivers in the OS, but I'm having trouble finding any RAID firmware listings in the HPE Support Center.

If it's relevant, the system BIOS version reported by the OS is "HP P78, 01/09/2013", Embedded Controller Version 1.32.

Hello!

We have HP ProLiant DL360e Gen8 Server, and need hardware raid controller.

I have a few questions... for 4 LFF SATA drives.

Example this:

HP Smart Array P420/1GB FBWC 6Gb 2-ports Int SAS Controller or P420/2GB

This support hot swap (replace) drive?

This support 4 LFF SATA drives?

It is not software RAID (fake raid)?

One SAS port compatible to Two SATA ports?

hp proliant dl380 g6 doesn't post and no error lights

hello i have my trusty hp dl 380 g6 upgraded from 

  • 1* Quad Core Intel Xeon E5520 2.27 Ghz CPU
    • 16 Gb PC3-10600R RAM

to 

  • 2* Six-Core Intel Xeon Processor X5650 2.66Ghz CPU
  • 32 GB PC3-10600R RAM

now when i start the server up it doesn't post and the buzzer ticks every second 

so i go in to ilo and noticed that the server cant read anything of the main board (psu, cpu, temp etc.....)

i also tryed the common things with the dipswitch and also with removing the cmos battery.

stil nothing can someone help me out ?

The old cpu has been sold so i dont have him anymore.
