and I installed 3 SAS (846524-B21).
Is it possible to keep the HDD and install another controller ? In this case whitch would be the controller to get?
Do I need to buy anything else?

Hi,
I have a P420 card in a Gen 8 dl360e server and I've been having some problems with my RAID 10 array.
The drive in bay 1 has appeared to fail. I say appeared, because on taking the drive out and running it through a test suite it all checks out ok.
I'm thinking therefore that the problem lay in the cable, the card, or the backplane.
To try to narrow down the problem I changed the SAS cable and have moved from port 1 on the card to port 2.
What seems to be happening now is that the card is recognising all four drives, but also shows a 'failed' drive on the previously used port. This drive does not exist - as there is nothing connected to port 1.
So, I have my RAID 10 array consisting of three functioning drives on port 2, and one 'failed' drive that does not exist on port 1. I also have a functioning 'unassigned' drive on port 2. I presume this is left in the configuration as the card remembers there being a failed drive on port 1. I'm hoping I can remove this from the array and add the functioning unassigned drive for a rebuild. I cannot find a way of doing this - can anyone help?
Here's a screenshot of the ACU showing what I mean.
Unassigned drive should be used in place of failed imaginary drive
When a chassis intrusion detection kit has been place in a proliant dl3x00 kit the system will generate via ILO a log code in the ILO logs.
is anyone having experience or a "how-to" procedure that explains how a server can react ( shutdown/ refuse to start) when this kind of alert is detected on a server.

Hi, I'm facing some big troubles to install WS 2016 in a DL385 Gen10 server. I'll try to put the details chronologically:
- I make the software raid on the BIOS. I have 2 SSD M.2 SATA 1TB each, raid 1. SSA sees it correctly.
- I try to install WS with bootable DVD. When I try to put the drivers for the controller to get recognized, Windows says it does not contain any driver...
- I try with intelligent provisioning. It seems it's installing but after first reboot, a command prompt is opened to copy drivers and stuff, but it get an error at some point and crashes. It remains in a "bootloop" every time I reboot. I searched on google and it seems that's a common error and I have to update the intelligent provisioning.
- Now the RAID is recoginezed in the BIOS (I've cleared either the disks and the controller several times...) but the intelligent provisioning doesn't sees it and the SSA shows a warning and no logical or physical disk (code 267). Windows drivers doesn't work either and I've came to a dead end... I hope you can help me.
Thanks.
Hi,
We have 2 servers in our company: server A which is an HP Proliant ML350 Gen5 with Windows Server 2003 and server B which is an HP Proliant ML350 Gen6 with Windows Server 2008.
We have a Smartarray P800 which manages an external HP Storageworks 60 equipped with 12 drives which is installed on server A and now we want to move it to server B. Would this be possible, considering the OS and hardware differences?

Hi,
We have been using kickstart to auto configure servers since at least Gen 6 from what I have seen. We have received Gen10 DL360 and DL380s and using our existing raid setup scripts with V3.40 of ssa tools, /dev/sda is not the first array after clearing the config through ssa gui in BIOS or using -reset flag when applying the config over an existing raid config of the same.
/mnt/source/pretools/ssascripting -i /mnt/source/pretools/raid-configs/hp-raid.ini -reset -e /tmp/raid-error.ini
If I don't use the -reset flag (such as when kicking the server again and it is already RAID configured) sda is properly mapped to first array in controller. The DL360 Gen10 seems to not have this problem, but I have to confirm again to be sure.

Hi all,
I´ve a few DL380p G8, and fans speeding up to 100%, takes me to update all ILO and Bios for last version, all system are ok with two exceptions two DL380p G8 wich serial number is one after other, at same production. The error reports bad ILO initialization, looking corrections the ways are downgrade to 2.61 and cross fingers for a correction at ILO Chip (SD/Nand) or format the ilo, any help to correct it will be welcome.
On diagnostics, we have a Embedded Flash/SD-CARD with Controller Firmware revistion 2.10.00 and Embedded media initialization failed due to media write-verify test failure.
Can anyone help me solve this problem?
Thanks.

Hi all,
I am running snmpwalk to monitor the ports on DL360 Gen9 and Gen10 servers
Can I have idea about port status, what 1, 2 and 4 means.

System doesn't boot anymore (also BIOS don't start) and my front panel show this: https://ibb.co/QD62BsM
ATM I haven't try to remove DIMMs, will be my next check.
Anyone have ideas?
Thanks, Alessandro
Hello!
A few years ago I bought a server HP ProLiant DL180 Gen9, now there is a question of replacing the processor E5-2603v3 on E5-2676v3 or E5-2667v3, but I can not find a list of supported processors.
Tell me where you can see the compatibility.
Guten Tag

Storage Controller: HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10
Disk: SAS 600GB
Model: EH000600JWHPN

Fehlertoleranz: RAID 6 (ADG)
Gruss
Chris
Hello,
We have a customer that is looking for the product described as:
10G ethernet adapter with "ethernet RJ45 port interface ", not an SFP interface
Which option would this be?
They purchased a 516937-B21 but that wasn't satisfactory.
Any advice?
Thanks!
Just got an ML350 Gen 10.
We also got a slimline DVD drive for it but I can't see anywhere it would fit into. It's smaller than the 3.5" wide hole. Is there a bracket/adapter I need?
I wonder if Hewlett Packard Enterprise Serwer DL20 Gen10 works with 1TB SATA 7.2K LFF SC HDD 861691-B21 disk? I would like to know if that disk won't cause any warnings from iLO and if I be able to create RAID (even using one disk, as it is required, even when one only disk is installed)
I have a ProLiant DL380G6 with 4 NICs installed plus an iLO card. 3 out of my 4 NICs are connected and my iLO card is connected. After replacing a hard drive in my server, I can no longer access iLO, and I can't access the internet or ping my default gateway from my OS.
During my OS boot I get errors that say:
[Firmware Bug]: the BIOS has corrupted hw-PMU resources (MSR 38d is 330)
ERST: Failed to get Error Log Address Range.
power_meter ACPI000D:00: Ignoring unsafe software power cap!
bnx2 0000:02:00.1: firmware: failed to load bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-6.1b.fw (-2)
Things I have tried to troubleshoot:
- Activated backup system ROM
- Reset NVRAM
- Disabled iLO 2
- Flashed server BIOS
- Reinstalled OS
- Deleted and re-created logical drive
Fans of My server work whit 94% speed.
My frimware is 2.70 May 07 2019

how i can con configure my fan speed?
thanks for your answers.
