hp proliant dl380e g8 fan issues

Hello,

 

I have a strange issue with DL380e Gen8.

HP ProLiant DL380e Gen8 2U 25x 2.5" (SFF)

2x E5-2430-V1

6x 16GB RAM

8x SSD

1x P420 raid controller

2x 750 PSU

 

The server has been bought used for based on client preferences, almost everything works fine.

 

  1. Fan’s work on 50%+ all only when I reset iLo4 it going down to 20-25% for 5-10 sec and back again to 50%. Is there any way to manually slow down fans?  No fan error on boot   Temp on CPU1 and 2 is around 35-40 C,  Ram Temp is the mid 30s.
  2. Windows Server 2019 standard edition don’t see CPU usage, all the time is 0%. But in Hwinfo all sensors work fine. Any idea why it happening?

Power on error on ML350 Gen9

Hi, I've got a wierd error on a Proliant ML 350 Gen9 . The server was loaded up with 1 processor and 8gb ram . The server worked fine for about 4 months then reboot after a power failure. When it started to power back up it didnt reach the POST screen and start displaying a red light on the front panel.  When i connect to ILO i get this error in the system logs "Server Critical Fault (Service Information: Power On Fault, Memory, CPU 1 Memory Channels 1-4 (2Ah))"

Has anyone any ideas as to what could cause / fix this?

The problem is my Server cooling fans runs at a loudly noise...

HPE Ethernet 10Gb 562SFP+ Adapter run 100X slower after firmware update to 10.4.3?

Hi experts,

  We run our mission critical SAP system on HPE DL580 with WS Failover Cluster and we found the system sometimes reboot unexpectedly and our SI(system integrated) partner told that it is a possible bug occurred when system ROM is lower than 1.46. They updated system ROM, ilo firmware and SPP to 2019.03.1(including 10 GbE NICfirmare from 1.1752.0 to 10.4.3 and drivers).

  The wired thing happened. Sometimes the 10GbE became extremely slow(ping response time up to 1000ms, that's right, 1000ms and copy a 500MB file took more than 5 minutes. if it is is normal status, it finished in zero seconds. We complaint to our SI because HPE support did not support DL580 server directly and to level 2 support but we did not get any good response. Please help.

  Is this a bug? Can sometimes send me a KB(knowledge base article) to prove it is not my fault? Thank you very much.

B140i to P440AR

Hello,

I have a Gen9 ML350 and I am looking to install the P440ar Controller and battery, currently using the B140i.

I understand that the P440ar can read arrays created by the B140i, with this in mind is it possible to install the P440ar and for Windows to boot? Or is it a case of, Windows was installed whilst using B140i and therefore if I wish to use the P440ar I'll need to rebuild the Operating System?

Dear All,

One of our client having a DL580 Gen 7 server, in which one of the controller in slot 5 is not detecting, Even I had made the server down and reseat the slot 5 controller as well. Please advice ! !

Graphics Driver Issue.

HI,

I have issue with Graphic driver for server. after installing graphics  driver system is got very slow, mouse movement is very lagging. am using server 2016 and installed Matrox G200eH3 Video Controller Driver downloaded from HP Site.

when moving the mouse over screen the cursor is moving very slowly. but with basic driver it's ok.

Please give a solution for this.

We want to purchase a Gen10 ML350 Server.

According to the information quoted, these servers (ML350) only work with switches at 1Gbs.

In our scenario we only have switches at 10/100/1000Mbs, which does not seem to be a problem if we want to connect the ML350 to these switches!

However, we have several Thin Clients connected via RDP to our actual server (not ML350). The Thin Clients network adapters on only work at 100Mbs (Thin Client network adapters are 100Mbs).

Our question has to do with the fact that, if we get this type of server, and although it is properly connected to our current switches, if the ports where the Thin Clients are connected (since they only detect traffic at 100Mbs), they will not be read by the ML350?

Clarify, if possible, if there will be incompatibility with Thin Clients devices because they are at 100Mbs, or because the switches ports are 1000Mbs, will not be a problem in detecting Thin Clients even being devices at 100Mbs, and the switches ports where they are connected detecting 100Mbs?

DL160 Gen9 runtime fault memory

Hello !

Advice needed urgently.

For 3 years DL160 Gen9 (Sys. ROM U20 v2.00 (12/27/2015)) stood rock solid with Win2k8R2 OS onboard . Five weeks ago I upgraded OS to Win2012R2 and,  a month later, out of the blue,  got server power-down. In IML log the corresponding to power-down  entry gives : Server critical fault (service information runtime fault memory cpu 2 memory channels 1-4 (20h)). After power up there are no status errors in ILO console as if nothing happened.

  In documentation for Gen 9 Proliants I have not found such error description, but in “Integrated Management Log Messages and Troubleshooting Guide for HPE ProLiant Gen 10 and HPE Synergy” Part Number: P05789-003 I found the error: Server Critical Fault (Service Information: %1) %2 . According to the Troubleshooting Guide  “This message indicates that the CPLD indicated there was a power fault of some type in the system.”

In this forum there was a post with almost exact error : https://community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/moving-hard-drive-and-raid-arra-form-server-hp-proliant-dl460/m-p/7034734#.XQlW-RYzY1g . In that case they solved the problem by moving to another server.

The irony is that the server warranty expired days before this failure, so no AHS log analysis or HP support case  for me.  I scanned all revision history for DL 160 Gen9 firmware updates and have not found any  mention of correcting similar errors.

So have anybody experienced such an error  with your servers? What did help you? Should I move to another hardware?

Any advice would be very appreciated.

When running Smartupdate 8.4.0, getting "Failed to read key

I am attempting to run inventory on RHEL6 and when I run the command 

./smartupdate inventory --nodes localhost --baselines /mnt/packages/

smartupdate returns the following

Copying sum files to /var/tmp/localsum
Error: Cannot launch sum_service_x64 locally. Reason: Failed to read key. Please run cleancache and relaunch SUM. (Error: Failed to get key, run cleancache and relaunch SUM.)

I am unable to find a solution to the issue in google.  The sum execution log shows sum.8.4.0.failedreadingaeskey as the error code, also unable to find any solution to the error.

DL380 GEN 10 esx 6.5 showing Local USB CD-ROM device

We have 20 ESX host all running the same version of esx, 6.5. All the hosts are exactly the same, DL380 GEN10. I have one host that is showing a Local USB CD-ROM device. The host does not have any usb devices attached and does not have an internal CD-ROM. I have a daily report that I review and I'm receiving warnings on the CD-ROM device; that should not even be there. This is the only server displaying the device out of 20. So I'm hoping someone might have some information on why this CD-ROM is showing up on one of my hosts? Thanks. Sunshine

RAID Issue on Server

Hi

We have a Proliant DL380 Gen9 Server which has gone faulty. It looks like the System Board is faulty as it intermittently shuts down. The Server is using Smart Array P440ar – with RAID5 configuration. We are planning to replace it with a new DL380 Gen10. However, we need to retain the data from the Old Server to the New Server by plugging the disks to the new server

Need advise if that will work smoothly

DL360p Gen8 Physical Drive Firmware Version

I have a ProLiant DL360p Gen8 server. My Storage Physical Drive is degraded with its Model EG0600FBVFP Firmware Version HPDC, I was replaced by the Model EG0600FBVFP Firmware Version HPD9 drives. Can I use them or do I need to update the firmware version of the other disks in the array? The array contains 6 disks Model EG0600FBVFP, Firmware Version HPDC of which 3 are Degraded. RAID 1 / RAID 1 + 0 array level.

Smartupdate manager returns self inventory error for component firmware-fc-qlogic SPP 2019.03.x

Trying to install SPP 2019.03.0/.1 when running smartupdate manager, it installs all firmware except for the FC firmware on QMH2672. It was not noticed as there is no error when installing SPP, but on troubleshooting another issue, it was discovered that in SUM_Execution log, it shows "Self inventory failed for component firmware-fc-qlogic-2019.03.01-1.11.x86_64.rpm" anyone come accross this error?

This issue has been seen on both RHEL6 and RHEL7 OS on BL460c Gen9

ML110 G9 part number request

Hi all

I have recently purchased a ML110 G9 for a home lab. I got it for a very good price because it is missing the front bezel.

I'm looking to buy a replacement bezel for it but cannot find any information or part number for it.

None of the HP part lists or optional parts lists I have found even mention or show the front bezel let alone a part number so I'm hoping someone here may be able to help with the number or even point me to somewhere I can buy it.

about log error No response from iLO for Hello

I have upgraded the the ILO firmware to 2.70 on a DL20 Gen9 server and I installed som HP rpm packet to monitoring server with nagios. I followed the instructions in this link

so I installed
hp-health hpssacli hp-snmp-agents hpssa hpssacli hp-smh-templates hpsmh hponcfg

and I configure with hpsnmpconfig
now I receive this log error message

No response from iLO for Hello
What is this, and how I can do resolve this error message?
