HP Proliant DL-180 G6 Bad Fan Sensors?

We have an HP Proliant DL-180 G6 that has been running great for about a year.  Recently the orange hardware alarm light triggers on boot and the fans are all spining at full RPM.  

 

The HP system management page shows an error on fan 6. The lights out management page shows the following alarm:

 

Fan FAN4_OUTLET Lower Critical 940.4 RPM

 

All drivers, Firmware, and BIOS have been updated to the most recent availible.  I swapped out both fans for fan 4 (Inlet and Outlet) and swapped the power connectors with fan three and the same error triggers for fan 4.  All of the replaceable parts have been tested and work on other fan slots. 

 

Has anyone encountered any problems like this?  The temperatures are all green and I am out of ideas.

Hi,

 

after entering the correct mailserver, mail-adress and receiptient I wanted to send a test mail.

can anybody told me, who to do this?

 

I only found sending traps or wbem event, but this doesnt sends an email.

ILO or Inside Management Agents with SMH

Hi,

 

in both environments, I get information about the fans, tempartures, CPU, memory, ...

 

what you all administrator prefer and why do you use it?

 

In the past, i always installed all the agents, smh, wbem, snmp service, but I think in ILO you areindepented from the os and you do not have install so much software.

 

but I like the new features from ILO 4.0. The only problem is the missing mail notification when you do not have ilo advanced licensed.

Updating VMware ESXi on a DL560 host

I am configuring a DL560 host to be joined to a VMware vSphere infrastructure.

I used USB keys to install the HP version of ESXi 5.5 U2.

At the moment the server runs ESXi standalone and is not managed by any vCenter server. 

I need to install VMware and HP patches before joining it to the existing vShpere infrastructure.

What is the best and simplest way to install VMware and HP patches before joining the host to the vSphere infrastructure?

DL 380e g8 switching power supply

Hello,

 

switching power supply DPS-750AB-3 REV 07F and  DPS-750RB REV 05F did`t work together in DL380e G8.

error: mismatched power supply. system halted.

 

why power supply is different and what i can do?

Mail Alert + SMH + CPU Threshold + WBEM does not work

Hi,

 

i want to use the email alert with event notifier config, system management homepage, wbem provider and hp management agents.

 

some alerts, like connect an usb device works without problems.

 

some dont (disconnect the usb device, setting cpu thresholds)

 

My question:

does the threshold alarm work in my environment, or do I need System Inside Manager?

HP Proliant DL380 G7 Series server

I have an HP server that will not boot.  I came in on Monday to not being able to ping my server.  I walk into the server room and the server looks likes its rebooting but I do not see any screens besides a split second of the HP Proliant splash page.  I cannot hit any keys to push it into BIOS or a menu.

 I have tried to take out the hard drives, the back plane, took out all the memory one by one to see if memory was bad.  

I took off the riser card, still the same instance.  

Randomly, the HP proliant screen will show for longer than a split second and almos finish the loading bar only to continue to reboot to a split second splash screen.  The only thing I have not removed from the server was the power board, the motherboard and CPU I believe.

 

Can anyone please lend some assistance to this issue.  The server is out of warranty and I would like to fix this without sending an HP guy out.

ML 350 G6: FC-Adapter not seen either in SMHP nor in SIM

Hi,

 

i have a ProLiant ML 350 G6 with a FC HBA. The HBA is a AJ763A. Either in SMHP nor in SIM i see it. lspci finds it, also the fibreutils. The status of cmafcad is "running". I'm monitoring the the system via SNMP. OS is SLES 11 SP3 64bit. All other devices i find.

Unable to set gigabit link speed on HP NC373i gigabit NIC

Hi there,

 

I have an HP DL 360 G5 running Win2012 and noticed that the HP NC373i NIC was only connecting at 100Mbit. It is connected to a Cisco gigabit switch but the issue is that in the Advanced options for the NIC speed & duplex the HP driver only lists AUTO, 100 HALF or 100FULL, no options for 1000Mbit. I've already updated to the latest HP driver and reflashed the firmware.

 

I know this is a gigabit NIC, why cannot I not change the settings?

 

Current NIC driver : 7.10.6.0 3/11/2014

Current NIC firmware/bootcode :  1.9.6

Current NIC UMP : 1.1.8

ACU freezes after when i get to the part after the historical facts

whenever i open ACU the game runs for about 30 seconds but when i get to the part after the historical facts about the game it just freezes and then i have to close it then re open it but the same thing happnes this has happned at least 25 times and i have not even seen the games home screen yet what do you think i should do?

I ahve a HP ML350 G6 server with an OEM SBS 2011 licence from HP. I need to re-install the OS but can't located the disk. Is there somewhere these can be downloaded or can i get them from somewhere? I have no luck with HP Support both on phone and chat.

Undocumented N54L mobo jumpers

Hi,

 

Looking for some info on the N54L Microserver motherboard. Its labled:-

HH PCB P/N 01015YJ0A-388-G

 

I'm trying to identify the following jumper/connectors:-

 

J25 (close to miniSAS connector)

J26 (close to miniSAS connector)

J17 (close to J22 & J24 connector)

SW3 (next to eSATA connector)

 

The documentation I can find doesn't cover these.

HP SMH Datasource is blank

Hi

 

I have upgraded a number of server's SMH to V7.2.4.1 and now the data source is blank.  However the hostname and system model are populated and correct.  All the hardware components are visible, they can be interrogated and appear to work fine.  I can go to settings and confirm the Datasource is set to SNMP. 

 

Everything appears to be working correctly but just wanted to know if this can be resolved or is it a sign of something major?

DL370 G6 memory question

Need to upgrade a Proliant DL370 G6 server to 192GB of memory.  It has 2 sockets with Xeon w5580 processors.  I was planning on ordering 12 500666-B21 HP 16GB 4Rx4 PC3-8500R-7 Kit but the HP memory configurator tool has screwed me before.

 

As far as I can tell there should be no issue with this memory, Can someone confirm?

Hi,

I bought a HP DL320e Gen8 v2 for our office because I wanted a low cost 1 rack server to just store company files on - and replace a 5 year old PC that was doing this.  Running basic Windows 7 professional, a couple SSD drives.

 

I received the machine and see it is a real sever with lots of things to be configured.  Is there some simple way to just install an OS form an external USB DVD drive?  Will it even work this way, I see it only supports server software OSs

 

Also, any reason I can't use any SSD drives?

 

I am not an IT professional, only an engineer in a small company - with coding experience, so hopefully enough experience to get this running.

 

Perhaps this is the wrong machine for what I need - it just happened tobe the cheapest 1u CPU I could find.

Proliant ML150G6 with HP Smart Array B110i SATA RAID need update drivers for Windows SBS 2008

I am looking for the latest Windows SBS 2008 64bit drivers for this controller .  The latest one I can find is dated 2009.  I need to replace a drive in a Raid 0 + 1.  When I replace the drive the systems hangs on the Windows system splash screen.  When I put the old drive back in I can boot.   The reason I am replaceing the the drive is that HP onboard diags says it going to fail.  I have tried several of the   On the web page  http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=3958194   It does not show a SBS driver and I have tried the drivers there and it says they are not correct for my system.

DL360 G5 to G7

Hi,

 

One of our terminal servers currently can't support the  load of 21 users working on it.

I suspect a hardware issue however the server is out of warrenty.

We will virtualize all of our terminal servers in the future, unfortunatly this server will not last that long.

 

The TS now in use is a DL360 G5 with 1 2Ghz processor, 14GB RAM and 2 72GB SAS drives on RAID 0+1

OS: Server 2008R2

 

We recently upgrades our ESX servers as there was a very nice discount on them. Memory upgrade for the old one had almost the same price as getting a complete new server with the required amount of ram.

I would like to migratie the TS to the old ESX server.

 

The old ESX server has these specs: 2 2.5Ghz processors, 36GB RAM, no harddisks.

I'm not sure what the exact hardware differences are so, can i simply remove the drives from the G5, put them in the G7 and boot it?

I know that it is possoble for the RAID settings, but will i need to reinstall Windows or worse, damage windows while trying?
