Drive size not detected with P410 controller.

I am  upgrading an ML330 G6 from 4 300GBSAS drives to 4 4TB SAS drives.

The controller sees the drives but states the size as zero.

I've tried to install (what I thinkis) the latest firmware for the P410 but I tells me I have the latest version. It's currently version 3.0

A diagnostics report tells me this verion of the firmware does not support the drives but I cannot find a later version.  Any suggestions?

HP DL380G5 doesn't start up

Good day,

I have the serious issue with HP DL380G5 server. It won't start up. When I push the power button it starts but fans work with very loud noise and all I can see is the black screen. I changed a memory and processor which I'd taken from the same server, but nothing happened

Is this the problem with motherboard?

Microserver B120i RAID Controllers | Array corrupts when connecting an additional HDD

$

Microserver GEN8 with B120i RAID controller.Server is running Windows Server 2012 (fresh installation) installed using the HP smart software (so includes all the drivers etc)

ADU Version 1.6.17

I'm finding this hard to understand but when I insert a 3rd HDD into my Microserver (GEN8) the RAID1 array becomes corrupted and shows as failed...

Please could anyone confirm if this is a configuration issue and what maybe the cause?

1) 2 x 4TB HDDs (Slots 1&2) working RAID1 array

2) Insert a HDD into Slots 3 or 4 and the RAID1 array fails

3) HP Smart Storage Administrator shows "Logical Drive 2 has failed and cannot be used. All data on this logical drive has been lost"

3) 4TB HDD Mirror then becomes unavailable in Server 2012 R2

4) Both 2 x 4TBs still show as Online in the HP Smart Storage Administrator

I fully tested this by creating a new array, then installing a new HDDs. This problem seems to happen as soon as another HDD is inserted.

I've attached screenshots of the RAID status AFTER the additional HDD has been connected.

Insert 3rd 250GB into the server

HP_Smart_Storage_Admin_Insert_NEW_HDD.png

Breaks RAID and shows the "failed logical drive" error message

Note: Both 2 x 4TB have not failed (they are fully working) only the logical drive shows errors (whichs means you can't view anything on the disk and doesn't show in Windows OS)

Diagnostics report showing all data has been lost.

HP ProLiant MicroServer G7 N54L - "real" AMD Chipset Video Driver needed

I've installed 2012 R2 to create a "mini server with NAS"

ISSUE:

No Video Drivers are listed on HP Support (only ones listed for 2008 R2 are for ASpeed - which is just WRONG)

This model is fitted with AMD N54L embedded SATA/RAID GPU

Having found correct hardware using AMD Autodetect utility

"Hardware found • AMD Turion II Neo N54L •A-Series APU"

Where is a real Video Driver, please? (Currently using deficient Microsoft driver that offers up a whole raft of wierd and incorrect resolutions)

Thanks

Brian

For the record

Found  and fitted 16Gb compatible memory (Kingston Technology ValueRam DDR3 1333 MHz ECC DIMM - 16 GB Memory Kit KVR1333D3E9SK2/16G)

Also successfully installed additional 3 x 3Tb NASware WD drives +1 1½Tb Barracuda, original 250Gb is in DVD tray (5 drives total)

Also, to get the correct SATA/RAID drivers you have to

a) Uncheck the Show Compatible Drivers box, then choose AMD SATA Driver, or

b) Look for A-Series APU RAID Drivers on the AMD Site and install from there (N54L is Embedded RAID GPU Chip)

Now getting 120Mbps disk to disk, spinning, 160Mbps RAMdisk

Email alerts from ML110 G6

Hi,

I would like to receive email notifications from a ProLiant ML110 G6 server.

I have configured other ProLiant servers (ML350, ML310e etc) for email notifications in the past but as I understand it, it requires a local mail server for the HP Insight alerts to be sent out. The combination of the HP SMH, HP Management Agents and the Event Notifier seems to work quite well here.

This ML110 Gb6 server does not have a local mail server. Is is possible to use an external SMTP server perhaps? I can't see a way of setting a username/password credentials in the Event Notifier application.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Linux server rebooted after upgrading ILO though the ILO web interface

I've have some Linux Blade servers which i updated the ILO through the ILO web page using the bin file, but for some reason this caused the server to initate a server reboot. Has anyone had any experience with this happening before? Is this a known issue and that means you have to install the ILO upgrade through Linux? or is there a setting in RHEL 5 which would cause the server to reboot if it notices the ILO drop while its being upgraded.

Thanks

"Integrated Lights Out 2 configuration is temporarily unavailable. (1)"

Hello.
After a reboot yesterday I noticed that my DL 380 G6 server took to long to show the POST messages and to boot.
Even more serious was the fact that I got
"Warning - iLO2 not responding - System health monitoring has been disabled"

a few lines later I got
"Integrated Lights Out 2 configuration is temporarily unavailable. (1)"
And in fact it is unavailable.

So after reading a bit, I've found that iLO2 firmware update CP025666.scexe would solve this.
After creating a usb key and copying the file to /compaq/swpackages I boot the USB
and get into the firmware update.
When selecting this option, at the end of the avalable updates I get:

-----------------------------------------------
HP Integrated Lights-Out 2 No supported devices
Installed version: none
Available versions

2.27
1.81

-----------------------------------------------
I can't select any of those upgrades, it's like they're unavailable.
Any ideas please?
Thanks and regards.

ML350 G5 server won't boot; red internal health, amber external health

Overnight our primary DC shutdown. After power cycling the server there are two non-green lights. The Internal Health light is red, the External Health light is amber.

We found directions to  unplug power, remove the CMOS battery, remove the RAM, Set switch 6 to ON. Put back 1 stick of RAM and put the button CMOS battery back in. Power on. The lights turn green breifly. Then the Internal Health light goes red and the external health light goes amber. Nothing ever shows up on the screen (monitor) attached to the server.

What else can I do to determine what's wrong with this server? We'd like to get it back up and running ASAP. It's their primary DC.

HP Proliant DL180 G5 Pcie video card not working 2Gb+RAM

$

I have a Proliant DL180 G5 mainboard and i istalled a Quadro Fx550 in the 8x pcie slot. (this is an old dx9 pcie1.1 card that support win8)

When the server starts no video output on the addon video card, just on the integrated.

I want to use this server as a workstation, with win8.1/10. The inegrated Matrox G200 is useless for a graphical environment.

In windows there is an error in device managger in pcie port: Code 12: This device cannot find enough free resources
I started disabling unused pcie ports whitout succes.

picture about the error

The only thing that works is to remove almost all ram, with 2x1Gb the card works fine.

I tryed a few older bioses, the other 8x slot, nothing works just the lower amount ram.

So i think i must set the resources manually, but i dont know how.

The next step, i want to install a Pcie3.0 Card (Geforce 750ti).

sorry for my english

Thanks for the answers!

change RAID 5 to RAID 1, P410i and ESXi 5 ("raid=1" is not a valid option for logicaldrive 1)

Hi,

I mistakenly installed ESXi 5 on a new DL580G7 host with 3 disks in RAID5. Now I want to change that to RAID 1 + spare which is our default.

I already tried to modify the RAID level with hpacucli command, but the direct step from R5 to R1 seems not to be possible. Would it be possible if I first migrate to RAID 0 and in a second step to RAID 1?

=> ctrl all show config

SCSI\SequentialHP______Ultrium_2-SCSI__

Can any body help me to find the driver. I have attached an image to see in details.
