Hi
I have a HP Proliant ML110 G7 with a Intel E3-1230 Processor.
I already enabled VT-x and VT-d in the BIOS but Windows kept showing that VT-x is not enabled.
The weird part is the Processor Identification kept showing E31230 instead of E3-1230
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Today i downloaded a trial license for ILO Advanced - 60 day trial.
The remote console starts , but the video stays black so now I cant try
What goes wrong ?
Hello,
Can I use USB Bootable of CentOS for Proliant DL180 G6. Please share the procedure. I tried making Bootable USB stick for CentOS 6.6 but no success.
Hi all
Trying to reset the ILO on a company's DL160G5 to factory - any idea on how I might achieve this? I've tried using SmartStart but the current version (8.70b) doesn't seem to want to work, and provides no option for the ILO Configuration. I can also find absolutely nothing in the ILO or DL160G5 documentation to advise me on the best practice, any ideas?
For what it's worth, it was running FreeNAS.
I've tried downgrading then upgrading (which I've seen a suggestion to do in the past), but the configuration didn't change.
Thanks

Hello,
I have a HP ProLiant ML350 G6 which I've used for quite some time now. Unfortunately, it doesn't boot any more.
If I push the power button, the fans go on, and both the power LED and the internal health LED become green. I don't get any beeping or video on the VGA output.
Also, none of the internal LED's are amber.
I have disconnected as much as I can (only MB, CPU and one stick of RAM left), and the problem still exists.
Is there anything I can try to get this system back up and running?
Thank you!
Hi,
I have a problem with fans and temperature on a hp proliant DL180 G9 (L9N12A code) configured as follows:
a) dual CPU Xeon E5-2609 1.90GHz v3
b) Smart Array P440 / 4G with battery;
c) 4 SATA HD from 1 terabyte configured as two logical drives of 1TB each;
d) an HP Dynamic Smart Array B140i Controller who are not connected device;
e) an HP Ethernet 1Gb 2-port Adapter 361st.
f) 40 GB of RAM
g) 4 fans
The P440 controller is installed in slot 1;
Having the need for additional LAN ports, I installed in slot 2 (PCI Express X8) a 1GB ethernet hp 4-port adapter 331t.
After installing the adapter the ventilation system of the server it has started going at full power.
The problem is not solved even if install the adapter in slot 3 (PCI Express X8).
If remove the 4-port Ethernet 1GB 331t adapter, everything returns normal and the fans run at 10%-11%.
Analyzing the chart of temperatures in ILO4/System Information/Temperature Information, I noticed that the temperature of controller P440 is
about 85 °C in the absence of the ethernet card 331T.
It is not a problem with the sensor as in fact the temperature of the controller is much higher than the rest of the components which have a
temperature between 27 and 45 °C.
Is normal that the P440 controller has the temperature so high ?
The BIOS and firmwares of all the system components are updated to the latest version (date 6.15.2015).
How can I fix it?
By some post of other sites it seems to be useful for the solution to install the SPP. So it is ??
Greetings and thanks.
Hi all!
I am trying to create a bootable USB key with the ACU (Array Configuration Utility) on it.
Here is the page which contains the .iso I am trying (I have also tried the previous two versions of the .iso with no different results)
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_3c888073127c4c65b7bd8559eb
If for some reason that does not show up the file is named:
hpacuoffline-9.40-12.0-x86.zip
The directions on that page clearly state that I should be able to use that .iso (after unzipping) to create a USB key.
I am using the HP USB key utility (version 2.0)
I am running this from Windows Server 2012 R2.
I have used this utility before to create a bootable USB key of the SPP that I used to update all of the firmware on my Proliant DL180 G6 and it worked fine.
When I go through the motions and select the .iso image I get an error which states:
This CD/DVD does not support USB Key creation from an ISO file.
Please use physical CD/DVD media to create the USB Key.
Well I do not have access to an external or intertal CD/DVD drive that I can install in my DL180 G6 even I had access to the physical media (which I do not).
Most importantly I do not understand why the page I linked cleary states that I can use that image to created a USB drive key . . . when I cleary can not.
Does anyone know what I can do from here? Is there a version of the .iso somewhere that will work?
I really need to have the functionality of ACU in order grow my RAID 6 array at a later date and from what I can tell this is the best way to do it. Also since the only compter I have easy access to which has windows on it is the server itself I really want to have that USB key in hand before I create the initial array. Because once it is created the only windows access I have goes away immediately. LOL
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Hi,
We have a DL 380 G7 server with 5 drives configured as RAID 5. It is running VMware hypervisor esxi 6. Is it possible to add a sixth drive to the system to use as a hot spare without affecting the current configuration? If possible without bringing down the server.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone
I havent been able to find a solid answer to this so wondering if anyone can help.
I have a retired ml330 g6 at home at the moment and it is currently running a 5506 xeon quad
I purchased a 6 core 5638 cpu for an upgrade but its refusing to boot with it. I have seen some pages that list processor kits for this model and even though this particular one (2.0ghz) isnt listed, the other ones in that family are.
basically I am wondering if anyone else is running this cpu to confirm its supported or if there is something I need to do in the bios perhaps when installing this that im not aware of

Few alert is recording on Log Viewer regarding "External Storage system overheating", "Power Sypply Failure", "Overheating" on our HP Pl 380 G5 server.
One of the Power supply seems broken. That power supply(LED) sometimes goes down. But when i replug it then, it becomes ok.
For overheating issue, i am bit confused. Because the room temperature is ok(Under 20 degree) & seems it servers internal overheating problem.
Something isn't working properly. I have attached the log data snap.
Anyone could suggest me for digging more detail from it?
One of our clients file server is currently reporting :
"Background parity initialization is currently queued or in progress on this logical drive. If background parity initialization is queued, it will start when I/O is performed on the drive. When background parity initialization completes, the performance of the logical drive will improve"
Across all three logical drives it hosts.
No-one can tell me when the it last had a disk failure (I assume that would be what causes it)
My research (googling) so far has shown the majority of responders saying to 'just leave it til its finished' but this has been showing for at least 4 months, and for an unknown amount of time priort to that. Frankly I don't beleive that its actually waiting to do anything, or if it is its failed and wouldn't run parity if you took it offline for a month.
I'm aware that this isn't a critical issue, but at the same time I'd like to clear it up. We finally bit the bullet and rebooted, hoping that this would clear the warnings. This hasn't helped and the warning is still showing.
Downtime is difficult as this server is available across 2 or three quite different timezones, so is constantly in use, and is their main file server.
I've checked the output of the CLI Diag command and it doesn't report anything untoward.
Few other details:
DL380
3x Logical Drives
- 956Gb
- 838Gb
- 2.72Tb
P800 - FirmWare v 5.20
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,

Hi,
On Last firday, the ML310 g5 server had one disk dead (Raid 1), the server performance become slow and no respone in few second, after replaced the harddisk ,rebuild the harddisk and updated the raid card driver, the server performance hasn't any improve. any suggestion to solve this problem!
(the system no respone around 20 seconds in 1 minutes)
My ML31 g5 server configure:
OS:windows server 2003 sp2
Raid controller: HP embedded SATA Raid Controller
Hard Disk : port 1 (750GB)<--- repleaced port 2(500gb) port 3 (500gb)
Array : port 1 and port 2(Raid 1) <---- no important data
port 3 : <---- OS and shared files
We have just installed a second 4314 drive array enclosure hooked to an ML330 server. Both arrays are raid 5 and array one has been functioning well for years. Array 2 has 6 x 10K 300meg drives as a seperate logical drive, all looks good. However, it appears that with array 2 the hard drive activity lights are constantly on when idle and flash when being accesssed. The original array one seems to have the drive access lights normally off and flashing when accessed, although I can't tell for sure as array one is being accessed quite constantly. Question: Is it normal for the HD access lights to be on when the drives are actually sitting idle? Thanks in advance for your help.
