DL380 5i Controller

Hi

I got a problem with my DL380 G2 server, I had to restart the after i installed backupexec and when the server starts to ppost it dosen't se my 5i controller no more.
I tried everthing, I removed all scsi cables and power cables and took ouut the the 5i controller and the battery froom the system board, but that dident help there are still no lives in my 5i controller.
Can any one help me???

Hi all could someone please point me in the right direction, i am trying up update the Firmware of the iLo 4 within ESXi 5.5 host Servers

 

via Web interface buth cant find where i can download the file to extract the bin file. in order to do the updates.

DL380 G4, adding 2 disks, want to create one mirrored logical drive

I am new to HP Servers, only having experience with IBM and Dell machines. I inherited an existing DL380 G4, that has (2) 36 GB drives mirrored as C:. I have 2 new 300 GB drives that I would like to install and mirror as another drive/volume. I am not familiar with HP's management utility (accessed during bootup) that is used to configure the drives as 1 logical drive. Is there anywhere that I can find the procedure for this? Any help is appreciated.

P800 Raid 10 configurations and speed

I have just taken delivery of a DL380 with a P800 and an Storage Works 70 storage array. The server 2003 with SQL2005 designed to run two small disk intensive databases around 70GB each. So we asked for a array design splitting OS, Temp.db, Log files and Data onto separate arrays. Each database has its own log file array and data array. The design was based on Raid 1 for smaller arrays and Raid 10 for the larger arrays (4 and 6 drives).

The server turned up with Raid 5 for the larger arrays and when quizzing the engineer he said that the P800 when configured in a Raid 10 in fact does a Raid 5 with mirror. (Raid 5/1) . So there was little speed advantage and you were better off going for a larger Raid 5.

Is this actually the case. And if so what is the fastest way of configuring 4 and 6 drives on a P800 controller? Also does anyone know if 3 disk Raid 5 is faster than 2 disk Raid 1 on this controller?

Proper way to configure SecurePath (clients)

Hi.

We have Proliant DL380 or DL385 servers with two HBAs connected to MSA1000.

I usually just install SecurePath 4.0c Workgroup Edition and that's it. I do not add any clients. The server name where SecurePath is installed is automatically entered as a client upon installation.

Someone is telling me that in case of a Windows cluster, I should add both cluster node names as clients in the SecurePath configuration. I think they are wrong. They tell me that doing it my way the fail-over will not work properly. I think they are confusing HBA failover with cluster failover.

But I never had a formal education with SecurePath.

So am I doing it right? Or should I add both cluster node names?

Remote console, SSL certificates, and port 80

Hi All

 

Hopefully there’s somebody out there than can help with this issue.

I have a StoreEasy 1450 with ILO4 out on a customer site. The customer has configured a port forward from 4433 to 443 so I can get access to the ILO interface.

I can log in to ILO but when I try and launch the remote console nothing happens.

 

After a bit of Googling I believe it may be trying to redirect through port 80 due to an untrusted certificate.

However the above article states that Java RC would work, but for me it does not.

The site is added to trusted sites in IE, and I have tried with protected mode off.

IE, Chrome and Firefox all the same, nothing happens and no clue why.

 

So I have installed a Digicert certificate which is trusted by the browser, but maybe not by the web server in ILO, not 100% sure about that.

Still no joy.

Ports 443 and 80 are in use so there is no option to use them.

I’m pretty sure it’s not a client side issue.

 

ILO Firmware is 2.10

 

The digicert SSL certificate was sent with a certificate for an intermediate trusted CA, but it looks like only one SSL certificate can be installed in ILO.

I believe this must be a very common usage scenario given most small businesses only have one public IP address, and would be hosting a website on port 80

 

Any succinct thoughts and suggestions gratefully received.

MIB Proliant DL380 G7

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to find a working link to download a HP Proliant DL380 G7's MIB, to monitor via SNMP, but I can't seem to find one... I've found everywhere on the web links to download a "Mib Kit" from hp, supposedly containing lots of mibs for pretty much everything HP, but all the links i found are broken... Can anyone help?

Reading the switches on motherboard

Hi All,

 

I work for HP Enterprises GES. I have a requirement to read values of scan switches byte from motherboard.

This byte conatins information of ILO security, configuration LOCk, UEFI serial verbose, Password overide etc.

 

Please let me know how can I read this byte infomation or any comands present to get this information.

HP DL380e Gen 8 Server supports H220i RAID card ?

In one of our system we can see that when we disable the B320i SAS/SATA controller in the BIOS , an LSI H220i BIOS is getting activated  and can see LSI BIOS to manage this controller?

 

Is it a supported configuration ? Does DL380e exposes H220i controller for connecting drives ?

 

We are not able to see this controller anywhere in the spec of HP DL380e.

HELP: HP/Compaq Server ML350 G3 - LED hard drive display?

Hello all, so I have a HP ML 350 G3 server on Win 2003. One out of four the drives (146.8 GB Iltra320 SCSI) was going bad(fault flashing red), the array is Raid 5,  and I mistakenly rebooted the server. When it rebooted the drive in question now has the following display... Drive Access=Flashing green,  Online=off and  Drivefailure/Fault=Off.  I looked at the drive led matrix but that combo of lights is not explained.  I have a spare drive that I can use to replace this one. Server seems to be working fine outside of this drive issue.  I can't seem to access the ACU(local or web). What i don't know is, is it ok to power down and replace the drive or just remove and replace?  I run daily backups just in case.

High CPU Temperature on Proliant DL60 Gen9 Servers

Hi,

 

I have problem about CPU Temp with 3 new HP DL60 Gen9 Server.

The server use 2 CPU Xeon E5-2650V3, RAM 64GB, 4 HDD 1TB

All server are running only windows process ( Windows 2008 R2 SP1) , but CPU Temp is 75 oC (maximum temperature of E5-2650V3 is 78.9 oC)

My server run 15-30 minute after it is auto shutdown.

To find problem, my suppiler builded other server. It has only 1 CPU Xeon E5-2609V3, but CPU temp is 65 oC.

Help to me.

DL380 G9 - ILO not keeping IP

Using Cisco core switch.

 

Setting up IP etc, Esc, Yes save, reboot, ILO IPV4: Unknown

 

Set the interface duplex to 100/full - 100/full both ways.

 

Is this ILO interface screwed?  I have a free extra G9 to use but I really don't want to.

 

Please help me do the needful.

ILO2 Version Script with Powershell and API

Hello Experts,

 

I am planning to Turn Off and Turn On the Hp ILO 2 Version boxes in our enviorment remotely.I am planning to exceute this operation through script from windows enviroment.I have gone through the document provided by HP and found that there are two ways one is using SSH and another is using RIBCL xml commands.But as SSH is not native to Windows we require a software like plink.exe and for RIBCL commands we require a software provided by HP.

 

Iam planning to eliminate the exe dependency and planning to execute these operations using an API and powershell.

 

Please advise if there is any method through which we can perrom this operation without relying on .exe file

Does any one know/ are able to get the voltage for the 10pin power connector on a DL370 G6?

i think i have worked out 6 of the 10 pins but unsure of the rest here is what i have so far

Is it possible to expand an array on a Smart Array 5300 Controller (with Compaq DL380 G2) without losing the data on the current array (option Expand Array / Logical Drive)?

disabled network connection after support pack 7.30a

Hello,

when updating to Support Pack V 7.30a on some of my servers it disables the local network connections. not sure why ........... and it doesn't happen all the time. Has anyone seen this before? Servers are DL380s running Server 2003.

any help would be appreciated

Fatal problem with Smart Array 5300

I have a Smart Array 5300 controller installed in a DL360 First Generation server which is equiped with two 1.13 Ghz CPUs.

After rebooting the server the controller is no longer displayed in POST and Windows no longer lists the 5300 as an installed or installable device.

Instead a generic PCI device is listed and cannot be installed, the PCI info display by SCU is:
