I get this on my ProLiant DL380 G7.
Too many runtime ECC errors have been received from the array controller P410i [Embedded]. The controller has restarted without utilizing its DIMM.
Will a update of the firmware do the trick or does it need to be replaced?
Hi everybody!
I have a question, can anyone help me to find the layout pinout of the front panel of dl160 g6? I need to customize my chassis and buttons...
Sorry for my english, and thanks!
The pins picture is attached.
Hi all,
I have a requirement to disable booting from the DVD drive on a DL180 Gen 9 server. The DVD drive is a SATA drive connected to the B140i controller. In the UEFI BIOS (RBSU), I've attempted to remove the DVD drive from the boot order, but it returns after I reboot the server. The best I can seem to do right now it to place it last in the boot order. I've also found an area to control boot parameters for the embedded controller, but there are no settings to change.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
We're interested in buying a HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen9 Server with the LFF drive option, however we are unsure of which drives we can pair up with this server. Where can we find information about the drive compatibility of the server?
Specifically, we are looking to pair it up with this SSD. Other than the form factor and the connection interface, are there any other compatibility issues we should look out for when purchasing drives in the future?
hi,i purchaced 3 samsun ssd 850 pro for host cache in esx6.but ssd not detect in esx 6.
Hi,
I am looking for ram for a HP Proliant ML350e Gen 8 V2, specifically 8GB RDIMM (690802-B21). I've scoured the net and can't seem to find any resellers in Australia and the HP Enterprise phone line was no use, I was transferred 3 times to 3 different voice recordings and finally to a voice message.
Much appreciated.
Hi.
Just want to bring your attention to the fact that when Red Hat kernel is built supporting Intermediate queuing device (IMQ), the symbol table changes to:
kernel(wake_up_process) = 0xfa87ae45
from your module's kmod-hpdsa compiled
kernel(wake_up_process) = 0xe65cdceb
The kernel complaints about the mismatch not loading the module
Error: Package: kmod-hpdsa-1.2.6-115.rhel7u1.x86_64 (/kmod-hpdsa-1.2.6-115.rhel7u1.x86_64) Requires: kernel(wake_up_process) = 0xe65cdceb Installed: kernel-3.10.0-229.7.2.v7.x86_64 (@anaconda/7.1.0) kernel(wake_up_process) = 0xfa87ae45
One solution may be to compile the RH kernel without the IMQ device, and compile the device as a IMQ kernel object, other solution may be you may compile hpdsa.ko to include the above symbol.
Thank-you, regards,
Hector Trincavelli
Hello,
we have a brand new HP ProLiant Microserver Gen8. We startet them with Int. Prov. After two or three attempts to install, Int. Prov. wont start. Now i go back to vers. 1.50 of Int. Prov. and the start is OK.
What is the correct version of Int. Prov. with this server model?
I'm attempting to upgrade the CPU in a DL320 G6, however I'm running into issues with the ram. On the stock Xeon E5504 the system boots fine with no errors, however with a W3520 I get an error "207 Invalid Memory Configuration - System Halted". The memory config is 3x 2 GB Reg ECC and 4x 4 GB Reg ECC, 2 gigs in slots A B C and 4 gigs in D E G H. The system complained about the 4s in D E F G with the E5504 and makes no different with the W3520.
For configurations of ram I have tried the normal all 22 GB, 3x 2 GB in ABC, 2x 2 GB in AB, 1x 2 GB in A, 1x 2 GB in C, 1x 4 GB in A, 2x 4 GB in AB and 3x 4 GB in ABC with no change at all. I know for certain it's not a problem with ECC based on the system actually posting (on-CPU mem controller) and I know the ram works being as it'll boot fine with the E5504. Unfortunately I can't update the BIOS due to the system being out of warranty and the support requirements so I can't test that out.
Is there anything else I can try or is the W3520 just never going to work (despite being on the supported CPU list)?.
Note: I've attached two pictures, one of the error and one of it going through fine.
Hi,
our Server is an HP ProLiant DL160 G6, Smart Array P411/512 MB SAS RAID-Controller with BBU-Unit, running Vmware ESXi 6.
Running hpssacli displays the following:
Smart Array P411 in Slot 4 array A Logical Drive: 1 Size: 931.5 GB Fault Tolerance: 1 Heads: 255 Sectors Per Track: 32 Cylinders: 65535 Strip Size: 128 KB Full Stripe Size: 128 KB Status: OK Caching: Enabled Unique Identifier: 600508B10010543953595A3959520300 Logical Drive Label: A04A2EA5PACCT9SYZ9YRCEB2 Mirror Group 1: physicaldrive 2E:0:5 (port 2E:box 0:bay 5, SATA, 1 TB, OK) Mirror Group 2: physicaldrive 2E:0:6 (port 2E:box 0:bay 6, SATA, 1 TB, Predictive Failure) Drive Type: Data LD Acceleration Method: Controller Cache
What are the next steps right now?
Can the Harddisk be replaced while it's running or do we have to shutdown the server? Are there further steps required after inserting the new drive? Should the drive to be replaced definitely or is it possible to repair it by the controller?
Thanks for your suggestions.
Hello!

Hi,
we are using a HP ProLiant DL120 G6 Entry Model with the following storage configuration:
- 4x 2TB HP Midline SATA MB2000EAMZF connected to internal B110i, configured as two RAID1
- HP SmartArray P411/1GB FBWC in PCIe Slot 2, with attached HP D2700, configured as RAID6, both ext. ports used for path redunancy
We tried to install an additional P212/256 SAS HBA in PCIe Slot 1 to attach a Quantum Superloader 3 to this server, but when we do so, the machine fails to boot, because the internal B110i don't came up. The server first detects the Superloader and LTO-drive on the P212, then the Array on the P411, then it stucks for ever.
My local reseller suspects, that the BIOS of the DL120 G6 is unable to handle two SAS-Controllers an the B110i simultaneously. The Quick Specs only show, that both controllers are supported, but not, if it will do it simultaneously.
Any hints?
Regards, Archetim
Hello,
Please let me know if I can upgrade iLo3 to iLo4 on DL380 G7. if yes, please show me the procedures or related links.
Hi,
I have 2 ML370 G4 servers that sat for two years doing nothing.
Since I need them again now, I bootet them up yesterday, everything worked fine, and I shut them down again.
Today, I switches them on again, one of them bootet ok, the other one didn't even POST. Internal and external health LEDs on the front panel are green, both power supplies show green, all fans spin up, no processor, PPM, or memory LEDs are on, even the (undocumented) PWRGOOD LED on the mainboard lights green. No POST, no beep, no video.
I tried all the usual remedies (reseated everything, checked and reseated all cable connections, swapped rocessors and PPMs, tried a bare minimum boot, removed and visually checked the system board, changed the battery), nothing helped.
Any ideas?
Further questions:
There are 8 undocumented LEDs an the system board (labeled CR64 to CR71, near the fan 4 connector in the back) which behave drastically different from the same LEDs in the working server. Is there any documentation to be had? The Maintenance and Service Guide doesn't seem to know about them ...
I seem to remember that there was a dipswitch setting to reset the server and/or invoke the reserve boot ROM. Any help?
Thanks in advance,
Axel
Hello ,

Hello,
I have P420 with 6x WD Red 4Tb in RAID-5. Something happens with it (I can't imagine what's may be wrong - there wan no any failures like as power failure, etc...). Now the logical drive have the status :
Status: Ready for Rebuild
Parity Initialization Status: Initialization Completed
All of physical drives iis in OK state (via hpssacli command).
After cold reboot server can access to all files on LUN. But status not changed.
I read this forum and found that it may be Unrecoverable Read Error (URE) ssituation. But how to know which HDD failed (or failing) if all of HDD is in OK state?
Thanks,
Anatoly.
Hi,
during boot I press F10 to run Hp Intelligent Provisioning, before IP starts the system show this messages:
[Firmware Bug]: the BIOS has corrupted hw-PMU resources (MSR 38d is 330)
i8042: Can't read the CTR while initializing i8042
I tried to reset the CMOS and NVRAM with position 6 of the system maintenance switch but error remains.
I tried to reset the BIOS settings to default values but error remains.
I tried CTRL+A in BIOS (F9 during boot) but system not show Service Option
I have another identical server and does not give me this problem
The system is updated.
System ROM P92 v1.50 (07/20/2015)
Intelligent Provisioning Image: 2.30.75
What can I do?
Thanks in advance
Hi -
We have a DL380e G8 that also has a Smart Array P822 connected to 2 12 bay attached storage (See attached).
One array (RAID 6) with one logical drive. We would like to reconfigure (shrink) the logical drive by removing 5 disks. Is this possible with out losing data or recreating the logical drive?
Thanks
Hello,
I own an Proliant ML350p Gen8 and it's out of warranty since a few months...
It starts making some intermittent very loud fan noise, even if I stay in BIOS. This noise occurs after a few minutes and can can stop a few more minutes after. It seems a little random.
I would like to update the bios but I can't access to the file (SP72239.exe), because my warranty is expired.
How can I have this BIOS update ?
Thanks for help.
Regards,
Nicolas
