i bought this server Proliant DL140 G2 with 5GB ram (4 ram slots is free) from ebay and I bought for raise 16GB ram 4x4GB for upgrade with hope compatibility. But probably not comaptible i read on PDF docs about max 2GB module per slot. Is here chance for any run with this ram? When i try update bios i dont download last version because i haevnt licence from bought this server from ebay :(

I have a HP Proliant ML 310e gen8 v2 and I was forced to put on it a windows 7 ultimate x64. I installed Matrox driver version 1.3.1.0 from 4/11/2012 but some web pages are not fitting well. After I installed it it automatically changed the resolution to 1920x1080. After a while I changed it to 1280x1024 and now 1920x1080 dissapeared and I can choose maximum 1440x900.
Should I install another driver? I only installed drivers for usb, network and graphic. Should I install more drivers?

I'm trying to write a RIBCL script to get information on SSL certificates installed on the iLO interface. I see there are commands for creating a CSR request and importing a certificate. But, I can find any commands for retrieving information on the current certificate installed. Do such commands exist ?

Team- our old Proliant DL 385 G2 server just died- we were literally three days from replacing it. Long story short: we need access to the info on the hard drives. We get nothing when we start up- no video whatsoever, no POST behavior, no beeps. Opening the case reveals some blinking green LEDs: LED 7 & LED8, at R563 and R569 respectively. Anyone know what these lights on the mainboard mean? Any ideas on how to just get it to POST?

Ever since i added 2 hard disk drives to my SL390s G7 servers i have been unable to install any OS
Here is what i get when trying to install CentOS 6 and 7(tried both and got same error for both)

What do i do to fix this?
I am running BIOS firmware P69 07/02/2013(can't get latest BIOS because HP decides i must have warranty to get it, never heard of anyone else doing this, firmware upgrade needs to be paid for pretty much)
Please help as HP won't help except i have warranty.

I'm searching for hours now on this topic, but cannot find a solution: SMH shows nothing, there are no options under Data Source. I'm on a Windows Server Core 2012 R2, Hardware is an ML150 Gen9. Latest SP was installed (2015.10). I did that from a remote computer using HPSUM GUI. Although I can't find any option to proof what HPSUM really did on that system I guess that WBEM should be installed, right? As far as I understand SNMP should not be needed since SNMP and WBEM are two different approaches to reach a similar goal. What do I need else to populate SMH with data? Do I need to setup anything in ILO?

i have an ML110 g5 which after a power cut the night before, wont boot. It just stops with a black screen saying missing operating system?
I have tried to boot from win server 2008 r2 disk and repair however it cant see the drives... I checked the bios and all 4 x 500gb drives are listed however it was setup as a raid 10 using the embedded sata controller by someone else!
Then it wouldnt boot at all and it seems the power supply has failed so I have swapped this out and now back to missing operating system message... any ideas how i can view / get to see the array please as there is no option on boot to view config of drives??

I have add new smart array 410i in this server. The smart array using old firmware. So i decided to upgrade using HP Service Pack Proliant.
After upgrade it show some error. I just ignore the error and reboot after upgrading. When i choose smart array controller to do confoguration, it initialize only. Then it seeking CDROM boot. It now showing any menu. How to fix it? Please advice.

I have an HP Proliant DL580 R7, with RHEL-5.11. Previous configuration: eth0 on NIC in slot 10 to public network, two HBA NICs in slots 3 & 5, and eth1 & eth2 in LOM ports on private network for Oracle RAC. We added a new 10 GB NIC to slot 11, nearest the PSU then ran HP firmware and driver updates to enable the new NIC. We rebooted and the new 10 Gb NIC works now, but the eth1 and eth2 have "disappeared" from the configuration (run ifconfig - error is "MAC address does not match"). We shutdown, removed the new NIC and rebooted, but still do not see eth1 and eth2. Our Oracle application will not start without the private network.
Current configuration is eth0 in slot 10, eth5 in slot 11, and two HBA's. eth1 and eth2 do not show up in ifconfig. They do show up in lspci.

I recently got a new hard drive to my ML350 Gen9 Server whit a Smart Array P440 controller.
The new drive is a HP 300GB SAS HDD (Model EG0300JFCKA).
When i was finished rebuilding the raid i notisted that HP Smart Storage Administrator tool flaged the disk whit a Waring telling me that the recommended minimum version of the firmware is HPD7.. At the moment it's at version HPD4.
Im trying to find this firmware and installation notes but i cant find it.
I was able to found the HPD7 firmware itself, but that particular package did not apply for this specific model (EG0300JFCKA).
I would be grateful for some help in this matter!

Looking for some guidance on obtaining the correct cable for the HP P440/4GB controller. Server quick manual is showing 811282-B21 as the correct part number, however the picture on HP.com does not look right at all.

I have to mount to HP ML110 G7 addionally (SATA RAID already there is working) new SATA hard drive Toshiba 3 Tbyte
I connected it instead of SATA optical drive but bios and windows 2008 did not recognize it at all
There is option in Bios to switch to SATA AHCI mode but warning is given that this could lead to data loss in RAID disk
If i mount hard drive in the bay 3 to already existing disks only 850 Gbyte is seen
How to detect new drive? should i swith to SATA AHCI mode. Or should i update bios
What can be done?
HP Proliant Server does not boot, DIMM slots led all red, internal Health Led in red. I have tried using login ILO but its not been successful. Please assist in resolving this issue. Thanks

I have ordered several DL380 Gen 9 (719064-b21) servers with 2 x 500W PSUs for redundancy. Can someone tell me, which power supply is chosen to power the server while the other is held in standby? I am assuming there is a default setting which has the server normally powering up on the PSU in bay 1 and the PSU in bay 2 is in standby?
I ask because I will have serveral of these DL380s in a system and we are trying to balance AC power by phase. So even though the server is plugged into 2 different power strips, only one PSU is drawing any real current but I am not sure which.
