Hello, I've be given a ML150 G6 for personnal use, and was hurry to try soon bi xeon :D But the thing is that i'm facing an issue ... First, I only have DVI or HDMI plugged monitors, and had to put a graphic card to have video (Asus EN9400GT SILENT/HTP/512M ), and I've been told that even if there is no driver, i could have low res. video signal, so if NO it might be this the problem. But the previous owner told me that he moved jumpers to try fixing it, but don't remember which ones ! So one of the first things is, is there a way to find original position for jumpers ? My problem : - I plug AC power, normal button colour (orange when waiting to be pressed, then turns green) - When pressed, I get high speed fans (normal) but won't sow down - Got no image (though the TV recognize it's plugged but no signal) - I got several beeps but I don't know if it's HDD normal beeps or POST ones because they aren't that noisy, and thing is I've never faced POST beeps before :/ I Got : 13 short beeps, several times, then I got 2 shorts final beeps and no beeps anymore - I have 3 status light Clean / Tape / Drive (above USBs) and Clean is blinking orange - No other status led is on I'm quite a newbie in hardware, so do you have any clue about this ? 530T NICs not coming online when cable removed and reinserted
We've recently come across an issue where the network link on a 530T (10Gbps CNA) NIC in a DL580 Gen 9, wouldn't come back online after the cable was removed and reinserted.
- Server: DL580 Gen 9
- NIC: 2 x HP 530T (Broadcom NetXtreme II 57810)
- Switch: Cisco C3750X
- OS: RHEL 6.7 Stock Red Hat drivers in use.
- NIC Bonding: Port 1 of each NIC bonded together to create bond1 in Active-Backup mode.
At the start of the test, bond1 is running fine, with the first NIC (eth4) active at 1Gbps as expected.
When the cable connecting the NIC to the switch is removed, the bond fails over correctly to the second NIC (eth6).
When the cable is reinserted, no link is detected on the first NIC, so it doesn't rejoin the bond.
The link could be made to come up by modifying the switchport configuration to be Fixed 1000/Full and then back to Auto/Auto, which suggests some form of speed negotiation issue with the Cisco switch. The other ports on the two cards are connected to a Juniper switch and seem to be working fine.
Has anyone come across anything similar before ?

Help! Seeking Graphics Cards For DL385 And DL580 Servers
I am looking for suitable graphics cards with at least 256MB for my HP DL385 and HP DL580 servers.
If you own one of these servers and using addon graphics card instead of the embbedded card, please let me have the name and model of the card.
Please, I don't want suggestions of cards that you have not used yourself -- I have bought a few recommeded cards that do'nt work.

Smart Array 420i Controller Disk Swap
I had two 300GB Drives Mirrored. One Failed.
I replaced the failed 300GB, with a spare 1.2 TB, until I could get a replacement 300GB.
Once I got the 300GB Replacement I swapped out the 1.2TB.
Everything went fine.
Now I want to add the 1.2TB Drive to another array on the same controller.
Will there be any issues when I insert the drive into the controller, and then when I try adding it to a different array

HP DL380 Gen8 GPT / MBR problem
Hello all,
a customer of us has the following problem / situation
1. HP DL 380 with 8 drives, RAID 5, 1 Array, 1 logical volume maximum size
2. Partition divided into 2 (3) volumes : 1 TB system, 1 TB data, no 2 TB not adressed because of MBR partition style
Normally we would use a tool to convert this into GPT style, but afaik this is not possible as HP servers do not support UEFI / boot from GPT. Is this correct?
Do you see any possibilities to use these not addressed 2 TB?

HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 V2 x64 can't run SPP (HPSUM) update for some reason- SocketError 10013

Pardon me if I'm posting in the wrong category it's my first time here. I have 8 ML310e that I was asked to update using HP SPP (HPSUM). For some reason i have problem running it on 1 of them. Here is the error i get:

Firewall is disabled, tried to disable firewall, ran netstat -ano to see if port could be used by another application. Stopped a bunch of services to see if it could make a difference ( IIS, HTTP, WAS ). Nothing seems to work and I'm running out of idea. Asked my security guy to see if one of our physical firewall could be blocking communication and we didnt find anything.

Prolaint DL380 G5 GPU Installation
OK some i already have the card installed and well it does not seem to be detected by the server in anyway. The OS which is Windows server 2012 R2 Does not show any card installed but neither does the Bios looking at the PCI Device option in the bios show nothing other then the embedded devices and the P400 Raid controller.. The card is an Nvidia Geforce 7600 GS (Gigabyte's GV-NX76G512P-RH) any help would be nice thanks!

Sound Card SB1040 on the ML 10 V2
Trying to get a Creative SB1040 PCI x1 sound card working on my ML10 V2. Its installed in the bottom PCI x4 slot and drivers are installed but I do not get audio through the 3.5mm jacks on any audio device. The SPDIF audio works fine on high end wireless headphones. Windows and Creative diagnostics have failed to explain why I can't hear any audio on these jacks. That audio is analog, whereas the functioning audio is digital, is there something off my card (like on the motherboard) that would cause this happen? When I first setup my server I didn't understand RAID and had an issue getting my HDD detected so I am running everything on AHCI. It was the easy fix. I don't know if this could have an effect.
Also after my first boot with the card installed, Windows tried to find a driver for "PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge" but never installed it (the process continued for over an hour without result). My sound card should be a x1 PCI express as far as I know. I am uncertain why it would need this bridge driver or what such driver would be appropriate to install manually.

HP ML310e Gen 8 v2 server with Windows Server 2012 NOT loading - disk locked
Good morning,
A Proliant ML310e server with Windows Server Standard 2012 R2, was working fine for a few weeks until yesterday when it started up and went to repair mode.
When I try to repair it I get the message "The drive where Windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive and try again."
It has 2 2 TB SATA hard drives, configured in RAID 0. When I run the HP Insight Diagnostics tests, all the hardware pass the test
Is there a way to recover the operating system without losing the data and configuration?

Red Screen - Proliant Ml 110 G7 - HELP NEEDED

after changing the boot order to boot from usb first, i get the red screen with the illegal opcode!! Tried creating a usb pen to flash the system rom, but nothing changed!

ML350 Gen9 + matrox g200eh + HP LCD 8500 1U console unit NO 1366X768
Matrox G200eH Video Controller Driver for Windows Server 2012 X64
yes.. the driver are available, widely BUT.... this is new, as my new proliant server ml 350 gen 9 with on board matrox g200 eh.
i'm using HP LCD 8500 1U console unit, with native resolution 1366X768 HOWEVER the matrox g200eh CANNOT provide such resolution BUT can offer higher resolution 1600X900 which doesn't look nice on the screen.
hopefully HP SOFTWARE engineer look back and provide/ design/ develop NEW DRIVER for Matrox G200eh that can provide and set to 1366X768 resolution.
This is weird thing as new hardware out of box cannot provide 16:9 (1366X 768) / (1920X1080) resolution which widely native for current monitor today...
hoping from you all HP engineer/ staff/ employee ..

DL360 G5 CPU Upgrade 212-Processor 2 Failed
I decided to install a second E5420 CPU, seated everything properly, started the server and I'm presented with the follow 2 error messages:

I've tried every configuration I can think of in BIOS and even reset and cleared BIOS and NVRAM. I even swapped CPU's between slot 1 and 2 but these errors remain.
I decided to run diagnostics using the SmartStart CD version 8.70 and SmartStart sees both CPU's installed and all tests on the CPU's come back 100%. The SmartStart CD also gave me these errors in the IML log viewer:
Caution Post Error - Message: 212-Processor 2 Failed - Error: 180
Error 180 was not in the error code list inside the Help section of the SmartStart CD
Anyways, since all the tests came back good I decided to install Debian 8 to see if linux would see both of them. Linux didn't see the second CPU.
Additionally, I used F10 during boot to run diagnostics/inspection on the CPU and it came back status Fail but it registered as installed.
I guess my questions include, how can the diagnostic tests come back 100% for both CPU's when only 1 was flagged as working in BIOS? What do the 212 and 180 error codes mean exactly? How can the diagnostic software see both CPU's but linux can't? Is there some trick to get both CPU's to detect properly in BIOS?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've included the test results, IML log and system survey if it helps
P.S. I've upgraded my BIOS to P58 08/16/2015 and the errors are still there. I even upgraded ilo2 to 2.29 not sure it's relevant...

DL180G6 sometimes does not find boot device on reboot
we have a DL180G6 with a P410i RAID setup. This machine has been running without hw modification for a couple of years. It has a USB drive attached for backup. Boot target in BIOS point to Harddisk first and Hardisk points to the P410i.
Recently it occurs on scheduled reboots that the server does not come up. It's caught looking for a boot device. We have to power it off via ILO then and after repowering it boots fine.
In the Log there is a message "Gen ID 0x41 unavailable"
Anyone seen this before? How can we get rid of it?

Expanding Raid 60 on with P411 controller?
I've got a P411 controller with the advanced RAID license with a connected D2700 chasis. I am going to setup a Raid60 array for some mass stroage. I'm wondering how the RAID60 exansion works, as I can't find it explained in any of the documents.
Does the expansion add more parity groups or does it increase the disks in the already defined parity groups?

Compatible expander card to HP SmartArray p222
i've got an HP ProlIant Microserver Gen8.
After some time internal storage of it became full. So i've got plans to install additional JBOD to it (DAS) with use of HP SmartArray p222 that compatible with Microserver Gen8. To minimize wiring i want to use an expander card in JBOD, but i can't find what product compatible with p222.

Error while installing Network Utility on ProLiant DL360e Gen8

Intelligent Provisioning not seeing esxi 6.0 iso on either USB or CD - DL385p Gen8 like to install
Cannot install Esxi 6.0 ISO using Intelligent Provisioning error out on a FAT formated 4GB USB is that the /mount/USB/VMware-ESXi-6.0.0-2494585-HP-600.9.3.30.2-Jun2015.iso is seen by HP Intelligent Provisioning but when 'double click' on the ISO file nothing happens except the USB flash drive blinks.
I tried a CD 'cannot find media'. Tested that ISO is good and it decompresses okay.
I've used Maintanence to update iLo and Broadcom nic to linux drivers fine. ROM A28 9/3/2014
I could bypass Intelligent Provisioning and just boot from CD or USB but why is this not working?
Box is a DL385 Gen8, 32GB, 2 AMD CPUs, P420i.
