Hello! I was wondering if I could have an expert help me out with a project.
I ordered a board, and need the pinout of the front power connection for manual power-on without a header.
The Designator is J98 on board HP 603887-001 on a HP Proliant DL165 G7 system board. Item #25 on the service manual.
All I would like to do is power test the board with no FP button.
Thanks, glad to be here and using HP equipment.

Hello! What might cause the following error in DL160 G6:
627-Invalid or Unknown SKU/Chassis ID
Please check front panel, System ID Jumper or Riser
I did the following changes to server:
Added more memory
Change Thermopaste on both processors
Replaced P410 controller with LSI 9260
Added dedicated iLO port
I have another 160 G6 server which i upgrade in a same way, but there was no errors.
Thank you.
We at our enterprises using following HP Server and Workstation for our SCADA application
We are looking forward for upgradation of these hardwares, but would like to take EOSL confirmation from HP .
Afternoon,
can someone tell me where I can find information on the following.
On my system board there are some LED's, on the right hand side labeled 0 thru 7 on 1 side and CR1 thru CR9 on the other.
My system will not post, it turns on and the fan just runs nothing else happen. The reason I ask about the LED's is that I currently have 1,3,4,and 7 or CR1 CR4 CR5 and CR8 lite green. I am trying to figure out what this means.
If anyone can provide som insight it will be great.
Thank you.
I just installed Debian 8.7.1 on a brand new ProLiant ML10 Gen9 which I am going to use as a workstation. I have attached two monitors via the two Display Ports. Everything works except I can't get the monitors configured as an extended desktop. It's as if the OS thinks there is only one monitor attached. Are there any non-free drivers that I need to install to make this magic happen? I have managed to configure extended desktops in the past in Debian Jessie. While not as simple and elegant as the Windoze solution, it is not rocket science - which leads me to believe I have missed something in the commissioning of this system. Help!?
This message appears in the logs :"POST Error: 1784-Drive Array Drive Failure". how can i fix it.

Hi all,
I have HP proliant DL560 Gen 8 server running Windows server 2012 R2 standard at my client location.
Network adapter - HP Ethernet 1Gb-4-port 331FLR...
My query is I couldnt find NIC teaming option in this server. Can anyone advise whether this server has NIC teaming option or not ? If yes, how could I find it ? I have installled Broadcom advanced control suite 4, but still I didnt get teaming option. Even in Braodcom control suite, I didnt have teaming option in filter...
Please help me in this. Thanks
Friends,
I have noticed that the HP Proliant DL560 Gen8 server in my client office has amber light blinking on the HDD in the middle (surrounded by green lights). I checked about it on HP website and it states that this indicates HDD failure. But for me, the server working fine... I have updated my firmware and few HP softwares, still I am getting the same status... Is this critical ? Do I need to change it immediately ? It will cause any other issue if I didnt change it soon ? Please advise. Thanks
Hello,
My company is running CentOS 7 on Dell R730 servers, about 600 of them. My company has been tasked with migrating from Dell to HP DL 360 Gen 9s.
The OS iso image I'm using to load onto the HP has all packages and configurations and has always worked on Dells.
The image does not work on the new HPs. Get an "opcode error" and red screen of death.
It may be helpful to note that the image has an install script that runs parted to partition drives. Also, there are no errors on install but get a red screen on first reboot.
Many thanks. Let me know if you have questions, be glad to answer.

Hi,
Does anyone knows which version of HP SIM can i install on a DL380 G6 with Server 2008 W32? Also, i tried to download the version 7.x from HPE website, but somehow it mentioned that their website is under maintenance.
Thanks in advance.
I have a Proliant ML350 server that is running out of space. It has room for 6 hard drives but only has 3. It currently has 3 - 250GB Sata drives. Am I able to add three more larger drives or do I have to go with 250GB? Can I replace the 3 with new larger ones in addition to the 3 new? Say add 6 1 TB drives. I believe it's set to Raid 5 configuration. I am definiately no expert and appreciate any advice or help on the issue.
Intel has announce a vulnerability with AMT technology:
https://security-center.intel.com/advisory.aspx?intelid=INTEL-SA-00075&languageid=en-fr
My understanding is that high-end servers, such as the ProLiant DL models do not use this (they use iLO instead), however I need to confirm this. Can someone with knowledge of this subject confirm whether HPE servers use this technology and if so, is there a patch coming for this issue?
Thanks
NK

So I have this beast Compaq ML350 G3. Only one problem.
Last day I installed Windows 2000 to do firmware upgrades, and today the server just refuses to do anything at all.
Its stops at the Broadcom Ethernet Boot Agent and just does nothing. I tried swapping all cables, using new hard drives, clearing BIOS and NVRAM, tried F1 and Enter, tried to swap network cables and new CDROM drives. But whatever I do, it just does nothing and beeps at me when I touch the keyboard. Also, seen that it hangs especially at this point, I cannot enter the BIOS nor does the last "POST Successful, press F1 to continue" appear. Not even F9 or F10 to let me in the BIOS or configure the RAID.
I've asked a facebook group especially for these old machines, but no one could help me or find out what the problem is. The manual said that the system lights indicate that it is wortking, but some lights are actually on and the manual says nothing about that.
Lights from left to right: on, off, off, on, on, on, off, on
Might the MoBo have died? Click me for the FB community post. With pictures.
I'm just lost what the issue might be.
I have a Proliant ML350 G6 server that is running out of space. It has room for 6 hard drives but only has 3. It currently has 3 - 250GB Sata 3.5-inch LFF, hot-plug drives. Am I able to add three more larger drives or do I have to go with 250GB? Can I replace the 3 with new larger ones in addition to the 3 new? Say add 6 1 TB drives - not sure of the maximum storage configuration. I believe it's set to Raid 5 configuration. I am definiately no expert and appreciate any advice or help on the issue.
I like to install Freenas on an sata ssd and use all 8 bays for storage. I know I can install Freenas to a usb as well, but I prefer to use an SSD.
Can you tell me how can I use the Optical SATA connection to connect a SATA SSD hard disk? I can fit the SSD fine, but I'm not sure what kind of cable I should use to connect it. Please suggest any soltion for this, as always I'm open to "hacks". :)
Thanks up front!
Current NIC is an HP NC365T PCIe Quad Port NIC, it does not support SR-IVO. Win2012 R2 running Hyper-V, SR-IVO is needed.
Any suggestions?
I have a DL360e with a PCIe P410 Raid Controller. Since I will be installing FreeNAS, and ideally would want to add two NVMe SSDs to the both PCIe slots, I would like to remove the P410 RAID controller card.
However, I can see that from the 8 bay SDD hard drive cage run two Mini SAS (SFF-8087) cables to each of the Mini SAS ports on the P410 card. On the motherboard there is only one Mini SAS connector.
Can I remove the P410 and still use all 8 bays of the drive cage? If yes, how can I connect the two cables into the one Mini SAS port? Will a cable like this help me?
(1 )33-inch (850 mm) mini-SAS Y cable with clip
https://www.amazon.com/754375-001-Mini-SAS-cable-kit/dp/B00ELOEESA
The one that is contained in the Mini SAS cable kit Spare Part Number: 754375-001
Any suggestions how to solve this are most welcomed!
Hi Team,
I am trying to upgared ILO 3 Firmware Version from 1.16 to 1.88 for the HP Proliant DL380 G7 servers we have at our organization. I have gone through various posts/discussions/forums and they suggest to first upgrade to version 1.20 from 1.16 and then further progress with the firware version uptil 1.88.
However, my team and me have been strugling to find a usable link to download the ILO3 Formware version 1.20. Can someone please help us with this.
Thanks
Vedika
I've recently picked up a second hand DL580 G7.
Initially the Health LED was flashing red - 'Internal system health critical'.
After removing the battery and clearing the NVRAM the health warning has gone.
Now there is a new problem:
- Almost all the component LEDs are amber suggesting the components are failing (CPUs, PSUs, RAM etc) see attached.
- All PSU lights at the back are off
- The power button does nothing.
Any ideas what is going on?
