DL380 G7 very noisy.
I have this DL380 G7 server with 96G RAM, 2 ST 300G SAS hard DRIVE / a INTEL 180g ssd / P410I 1G CARD.
I don't know when the fans became very loud. I think the TEMP 30 is the root cause.
Where is this sensor? How could I drop the fan speed down to normal? Please Help.

HPE ML310e Gen8 v2 - P420 Controller wrong temperature readings from iLO 4 and HP SSA
First post here - Hello Everyone ;)
So we have upgraded from B120i controller to P420 - sitting in Slot 3.
We have RAID 10 setup with 4 Sata - 1TB HDDs.
Server is sitting in room without Air-conditioning. Room temps are between 25 - 29 Celcius. Now, it's been 3 years that our server is running 24h/day without any failure.
All server components are up to date with firmware and drivers (double checked). I'm using regulary ProLiant Service Packs (latest is from April 2017). Among others: iLO has 2.53 firmware, P420 has 8.00).
Temps reported by iLO for all components are very cool, except P420 controller.
No matter what temperature is in the room P420 controller temps are always:
- reported by iLO - 85 (controller)
- reported by HP SSA - 88/43/28 (controller/cache module/battery)
I know, that controller temps goes up and down only from fans going faster and slower. Normally, for 3 years, fans were at: 5% and 9% (front and rear one) no matter room temps. Now, after P420 installation they are at: 14% and 23% raising to 15% and 29% when room temp is 29 Celcius. (still rather silent to me which is nice).
Now, don't get me wrong, nothing is bad with my server and setup from my point of view, I'm just curious, why iLO 4 and HP SSA give me different temps readings. From what I know after forum reading, this controller had some issues with different servers but appereantly all flaws were patched with firmware. Some users have temps from 50 C to 90 C and I'm almost 100% sure that it's because from false sensor readings or something similar.
Any tips or tricks here masterminds?

iLO says "Please Wait Scanning" then closes
Trying to install an OS onto a HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen8. I've updated the iLO to the latest version. Had the problem with the original version. Everything appears to be fine I'm able to put in all the info I choose the iso file from a flash drive. It says "Please Wait Scanning" and that appears on screen for maybe a second then that vanishes and nothing happens.
Any suggestions would be helpful

Is it possible to add a drive and migrate to RAID 1 (off-line is ok)?

Proliant Dl380p and remote syslog
Hi,
I own proliant DL380p Gen8 server and have windows 2012 installed on it, I'm lokking for solution for send all system logs and alerts to my syslog cacti server - is any way to do this?
Inside ILO v4 I see that there is option for remote syslog, but I don't have licence to enable this option.
I thinks that there are the last HP brand servers in my company, our new IBM system X server in IMM (something like ILO) have option for remote syslog & SNMP without need to pay for this- shame HP!

HP ProLiant DL360 G5 without network
Good morning
I had a few days ago a problem with an HP ProLiant DL360 G5 that works with Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, that when I tried to connect via RDP it gave me a blue screen and it was rebooted. This was because there was a bug in Windows Server 2003 that after X time an error occurred that caused an error to be generated in drivers of the network card. I updated it to SP2 and it was solved. Now the problem is that I have no network, I have reinstalled all the network drivers, uninstalled and still not working. Now the network detects me, but it only sends packets, it does not receive absolutely any package.
Someone could tell me how to fix it ??

Move array and controller to hew hardware
Hello,
This has been asked before and there is conflicting information with differing set ups, so thought I would perhaps try asking my exact question and seeing what the response is.
My final remaining legacy server and array is in need of replacement, the server has become unstable and in short is just too old to run any longer.
The old set up is as follows:
Server, Proliant DL380 G5, Windows 2012 R2, P812 controller connected to an MSA60 array RAID 6 via SAS cable (no comments on this please!). Of course, all data on the array is backed up to a NAS on the network and tape off the network.
As said, the server is unstable and the array is just old, but while waiting for a replacement enclosure (5 to 7 days lead time) that will have the data from the MSA60 restored to, I need to keep the MSA60 running on the new server which is already set up, but is not in production yet.
The new set up is as follows:
Server, Proliant DL180 Gen9, Windows 2012 R2, controllers are different, P440 and P441.
My questions is:
Can I shut down the existing MSA60, remove the P812 controller from the old server, install the P812 controller in the new server, connect the MSA60 to the new server, and have the data on the MSA60 remain as it is?
I know all the in's and out's of copying the file shares and NTFS permissions to the new server OS and have done this in the past many times during migrations.
All I really need to know is, will the MSA60 data be OK with this type of a move, taking the enclosure, cabling, controller and drives as they are, to new different server hardware.

Accessing ML350G6 RAID in a DL380G6 Server
To anyone who is familiar with Raid configuration on G6 Series.
I have this situation:
An ML350G6 server with P410i Raid controller and an 8SFF Cage with, on bays 1 and 2, 146GB SAS Hard disks, 2 units, and on bays 3,4,5 and 6, 300GB SAS Hard disks, 4 units. The server is down, no power, no access. I don't know which Raid is setup. I'm planing to use a DL380G6 with same controller type on it, and attach the hard disks there in order. Whill this work? Will I have access to the information? Will the P410i on the DL380G6 read the Hard Disks ID and restore the Raid? Or will the hard disks' ID be overwriten? I have no way to revitalize the ML350G6 and I need to acces the information. Can anyone help me?

Hard Drive Data recovery

Our ML 150 has run faithfully since 2003. We had to shut it down. Upon rboot, it makes it to the Windows Server 2003 Moving Gray block and then turn off the video and restarts. The are two SCSI drives and some data we would like to recover. If I can get to the dos prompt...
When the Adaptec SCSI Bios prompt appears the drives are found, then

When I press a key, I see the Phoenix Bio setup screen with the prompt press a key to continue and then (repeating from above) The Windows 2003 Server moving gray boxes about 5 sets role byu and then reboot.
I tried swapping the drives

Server Restart - HP DL380 G7

The system was unexpected....
I read all the entries at the event-log but there is nothing special bevor the server reboot.
Could you help me with some ideas?

ILO 3 & 4 BSOD if Citrix Receiver is installed (ctxusbm.sys)

we have some DL380 Gen7 and Gen8 Servers with ILO3 and ILO4 and running Windows 2008R2.
If we connect with ILO and start Remote Console (Doesn't matter if .NET IRC or Java), we get a BlueScreen. After debugging the crashdump, I've seen the crash was caused by ctxusbm.sys (Citrix Receiver). We updates the ILO Firmwares, installed new ILO ControllerDriver and everything. But still same problem.
Citrix Receiver 4.5. Can't update to 4.6 or 4.7, because 4.5 is needed because of some other problems.
Any idea how to solve this problem ?

Proliant ML150 power light is amber
I basically have the same problem. Server will not power up. When I plug it in the lights flash green i can hear the fan, then the light goes amber..I have 2 PSU's. I have removed them, removed memory, unplugged all devices, (tapedrive etc...) Replaced battery, still amber light.
