HP ProLiant G8 Gen8 + P420i Controller + H222 SAS Controller didn`t work
Hi everybody,
I have a problem and I don`t find any solution for that. One of my customers need more space. I bought for the HP ProLiant G8 Gen8 two things:

Gen8 Server
I installed the H222 card and connected the D2700. After I have started the server I joined the HP Intelligent Provisioning with F10. Bevor HP Intelligent Provisioning started I have saw that the 4 new Harddrives were detected. Now I started the Firmeware update. After this the latest Version for G8 Gen8 of the HP Intelligent Provisioning was installed and all the other firmeware to. If I start the SSA I only see the iP420 controller. I don`t see the H222. So I can`t create a raid and I can`t add it to my ESXi system. Is there anything wrong?
Could someone help me? I called the HP support and they told me "You must see the H222 at the SSA". I told them I don`t see nothing. If I want to add a datastore to the ESXI I see all 4 single hdds. But I need a raid.
Sorry my englisch isn`t the best and I hope you understand my problem.
1. Added H222 to ProLiant G8 Gen8
2. Connected D2700 with SAS cable to the H222
3. Started HP Intelligent Provisioning -> SSA and nothing to configure

problem with specs of DL385G7
Found two different versions of the DL385 G7 server:

In spec 6663 it says 256 GB of RAM, in 4499 512 GB.
Does the maximum RAM-size depend on the board's revision or is it a question of the installed firmware.
Same question on CPUs.
Is there any way to get out, what CTO chassis contains what board revision?

ILO ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD RESET FROM CMD
How can i reset the ILO password for ProLiant DL380 G7 linux without downtime from commandline.Can you share the steps to reset the ILO administrator password and also steps to configure the ILO as well.

Proliant DL380 G6 it reboots every 8 - 10 minutes with Overtemp amberlight error

amber/green led cisco switch when connect nic hp dl380 g8
hi
i have dl 380 g8.install esxi on.that is work ok.but last week i disconnect all vm in server.i check it .i see led port that server connet to swhitc cisco amber/green.
1- i connect a nic of othe server on this port switch and this port is ok
2-when i down server and disconect power cable and again power cable(server is off) the led amber/green
3-i replace network card whit other dl380 g8 ,but not correct
please help me

Windows Server Installation issue on HP Pro DL380 gen8
Hello there,
I am unable to install Microsoft windows server 2012 r2 in HP Proliant DL380e Gen8.
I downloaded the Evaluation version from MS site. When installing it asks for the license key through Intelligent Provisioning, for evaluation software there is no need for license key. But i gave the license key from https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj612867.aspx.
After the intelligient provision formatting, when the win 2012 loads up, I am getting the Error " No images are available" . I tried installing through USB and Disc. Still the same error is showing up.
Could anyone help me on this?

expand logical drive hpssacli
I have a dl380 g9 with an H240ar card, running ESX. I have 4x1.6 SSD drives in a raid 5, = 4.4TB. I physically added two more drives and ran the followin command
/opt/hp/hpssacli/bin/hpssacli ctrl slot=0 ld 1 add drives=2I:1:5,2I:1:6
This took a LONG time to transform but completed, however my logical drive still shows 4.4TB, I would expect it to show 8TB. Did I miss a step?

Expand Logical Drive (RAid1) for HP DL 380 G7
Hi All,
How do I Expand Logical Drive (RAid1) on a HP DL 380 G7 ? The array is made up of 2 146GB drives and this is the system "c" partition. Can I pop in (2) indentical drives and simply expand (and then extend ) the array? Do I need to break the mirror first? Can this be done "hot" with no service interruptions. The array is on the P410i Embedded Slot. I saw another post that said a right cache battery is needed to do this. Can I verfiy that i have one from the Array confiuration utility? I basically need step by step instructions on this Thanks in advance .

HP ProLiant SL230s
I have SL230s Gen8 blades and I'm trying to upgrade to v2 CPU, firmware is up to date. Blades are working absolutely fine with V1 CPUs but when I upgrade to CPU v2 it wouldn't POST, ILO is not loading and when I check the logs after downgrade back to v1 CPU I have no errors. AS number is 650050-003, Rev 0K. Anyone encountered the issue before? I've tried Xeon E5-2609 v2 and E5-2650 V2 Thank you.

2SFF SAS/SATA drive cage assembly option
I've added 2 aditional drive bays using the 2SFF SAS/SATA drive cage assembly option to our new DL360 G9 server but it looks like it's only possible to connect these two extra bays to the built in Software RAID controller (B140i) and not the P440ar RAID we have installed.
The purpose of adding the 2 aditional drive bays was to instal 2 SSDs to use Smart Cache on the P440ar.
Is there any way to attatch these two extra drives to the P440ar?
The B140i doesn't support SAS drives as far as I can see so I would need to purchase two SATA drives to install the OS on, and then use the 8 drives pluged into the P440ar for the Data drives + smart cache, not ideal.

ProLiant DL360 Gen9 & Win2k12 R2 - does not recognize domain network
Hi all,
i've a problem on 3 new DL360 Gen9 Servers.
I've installed them with Windows Server 2012 R2 current patch level.
I added them to my Active Direcotry as member servers.
After the frist reboot they all do not recognize that they are inside of a domain network (ncpa.cpl)
Due to this the "public profile" of the windows firewall is active. Normaly it should be completly off (Domain Profile)
I've disabled IPv6 and installed the Drives of my NIC (Boradcom NX) which i downloaded from the HP site.
My internal DNS is reachable and working perfectly.
I have this problem only on my HP Servers .... Clients, VM's are working perfectly in this case (also in the same subnet)
Any Ideas?

probe con iso de x86 y x64 y nada tanto el cd y usb ....mi servidor es Proliant ML110 G5 Intel Pentiun(R) dual CPU E2160 no me reconoce el disco aparentemente !!! no tengo mucha experiancia en estos temas ah este servidor le puse una tarjeta pci con 2 puerta Gigabyt para hacer un balanceo de cargas, no se debo habilitar algo bios o actualizar algo POR FAVOR ESPERO QUE ME PUEDAS AYUDAR!!! te agradeceria mucho. Hello everyone, I have two servers with the same key, when i try to activate them i get this error:
"Error installing license: The given activation key is not supported on this system."

HP Proliant ML 310 G8 access by LAN unavailable.
Hello my friends,
we have a HP Proliant ML 310 G8 . Sametimes stay unavailable from any desktop, but, from local, is normal. Ping working properly from any desktop, but, none application hosted in this server working, only local.
I search in event ID and not appear.
Any help are welcome.

ILO4 security issues
Hi! I have already posted this problems 2 weeks ago, I though it was solved but unfortunately not yet.
My University is scanning all the campus servers with Nessus Vulnerability Scanner and they are complaining that my ILO4 (now just updated to firmware 2.53 May 03 2017) on ProLiant ML350p Gen8 HP server has a "medium" risk level of vulnerability, so they are asking to solve this issue as soon as possible, to avoid potential attacks.
I enclose the "medium" risk entries of the report: all the problems are connected with the 443/tcp port, it seemed I should update the version of SSL protocol to improve cipher, encription and certificate... however I have just updated also OpenSSL to Version : 1.0.1e Release : 57.el6 but the problem persists.
Is anybody able to help me in this respect?

Replace bad hard drive in an HP ML350 G6

I wanted to know if i need to shutdown the server in order to replace the bad hdd.
I already have a new hdd with the same part number as the faulty one (626162-001)

Hp Proliant g6 Server
Hello everyone,
I recently got a Hp Proliant G6 server. This server worked smoothly and was pretty quiet for me.
Now since yesterday i added an extra drive hdd sata 2.5 inch ( seagate firecuda) and since then my fans always after a while go up till 78% the whole time even tho max temp is 48 degrees which is not to much i think. Does anyone have an idea what the exact cause could be of this. I assume something with the drive and the server but how exactly do i solve this?

bios gpu driver
The bios in my dl580 g5 won't recognize my gpu. I presume thus that installing approriate drivers will prove useless. I am looking at a bios update:
Type: BIOS (Entitlement Required) - System ROM Version: 2015.08.16 (A)(1 Oct 2015) Operating System(s): Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x64 | View all File name: SP73042.exe (3.0 MB)
This is the only possible bios update available beyond what I have installed.
Two questions:
It seems that this update is a security fix essentially. WIll it also contain general updates such as those which would effect gpu functionality?
It also seems as tho this update is only available to registered users. As I have acquired this dl580 g5 unit second hand is there any way to either register the unit as belonging to me even tho it is surely out of warranty? Or is there a resource where such a download might be found by those of us who are dumb and new lol

I'm planning to purchase a sata HDD and add it to the server, not SAS, So does DL380 G9 accept these kind of HDDs?
Or is it possible to add HDD to DL380 G9?
