Hi, We have a Proliant ML30 server with an array with 3 HDD in a RAID5, with 2 partitions (system and Data), each disk is of 1TB of capacity. At this time we need more free space, the server can support other SATA HDD (3.5"), How can we add other 1TB HDD to the same array without losing the data?

We are using HP DL380 G7 server. its loaded with 3 300GB SAS disks configured in RAID 5. now our Local C partition is nearly full. So we want to increase it. I bought 2 new 300 GB hard disks.
Should I rebuild the array for this??
How will I specifically increase the Local C partition? for this if i am doing shrink and extend feature.. will i have data loss??

When I click revision history I can download and install succesfully these later versions;

If i navigate to this collection of Gen8 drivers I get the same 'older' drivers.

I assume the installer has logic to detect if installed on a SUPPORTED server so because this installer DOES install it seems to be 'supported' on a Gen8 server. Also, I think its normal to click on revisions to choose the latest version available.
But because the PSP is an tested bundle my question is, is this later version of the HPE Broadcom 1Gb Driver and Firmware supported on a Gen8?
I would stress the fact that the installer doesn't prohibit the install on a Gen8 server and therefore if used in a mixed Gen8 and Gen9 environment you could accidentally install these drivers on a Gen8.
So are these drivers supported or not? :)

I have just bought an HP Microserver gen10 for private home use, I am trying to register the product so that I can access downloads but the registration form asks for an Entitlement Order Number. Ther is virtually no documentation with the Server and I have no idea what the Entitlement Order Number is or where to get it.

The server have now 48gb ram, 24gb on each CPU and 3x300gb in RAID 5
I have 2x16gb RAM and 3x600gb disks
Where do I place the new RAM? and how do I configure the new disks in RAID 5?

So our company went out and spent 30k on a new DL360 G10. I was looking forward to getting it into our environment but after hours of frustration I'm about to send this thing back.
HP has apparently modified the bios so much that there are no more hardware diagnostics to run to burn it in, and the bios settings to get it to boot to a usb stick don't work.
I've disabled, enabled, uefi, all security options for booting to a usb stick. The deployement software built into the bios won't accept a microsoft iso file to install the OS. It just says verifying, then does nothing and won't let me select the iso file on the usb stick.
Even when I can get it to boot to the usb stick, for some reason I don't have any mouse or keyboard options to use. I've tried usb mouse and keyboard, and even the one on the kvm...no luck nothing works.
I've attempted to connect to the ilo interface to get thru it, no luck.
I've worked with HP products for years and this one is one of the most frustrating ones I've ever come across.
I've tried searching blogs and everything else but apparently there's nothing out there yet.
When I try using HP's site and search specifically for the model and the results I get are for g9's and earlier, which doesn't apply.
Completely frustrated with this new model!!!

but there are very few drivers.
for example, there is no "system controller driver". i need it to install "Insight Management Agents"
when i install "Insight Management Agents", i get error:
"The software is not supported for installation on this system.
The installation program couldn't find the appropriate system management controller driver which is required but is not currently installed. Please install the appropriate system management controller driver and then rerun the setup program.
Press 'Close' to exit Setup."

I have an HP Proliant MicroServer. Bios is set to use Raid. The Raid setup is configured for Raid 10 using four 2 TB drives. I see the drives in the Raid controller setup. When I try to load windows, I get to the point where I need to reboot and i get the message, "Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation. To install Windows, restart the installation." I have tried multiple sized partitions. I have formatted the drive prior to attempting the OS install. BIOS version 041. AMD Turion II Neo N40L Dual-Core Processor, Speed 1500MHz, core count 2. Memory, 6GB.
This happens for Windows Server 2008 R2 as well as Windows Server 2012.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have a DL185 g5 server and the mobo broke, so I bought a refurbished one.
Now when I start the server, it says that don't detect any fan (it says 6 fans but I only have 4).
I can not eather enter on the boot menu or bios to update firmware.

Having problems getting it to install. Tried Intelligent Provisioning, but when it attempts to install, get an error that says "setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition".
Tried to create a uefi bootable drive but not having much luck with that either.
Open to any suggestions.
Server ML 350 Gen 9( OS : Win 2008 R2) getting very slow after warranty repair ( MB Changed).

Hello, we are using a Proliant ML350 G6 with an internal HP HBA221 SAS adapter. We have connected an Ultrium/LTO6-Drive externally to this adapter with SFF8088 cable. The OS is Windows 2008 R2 SP1 - full patched. Is it possible to disconnect the external tape drive without powering down the server? We want to connect the drive to another server-hardware (at the new hardware we have the option to reboot the server without problems). Regards, Jörg

Just to understand that have a DL180 G6 server which is outdated (I know), and we're just using it as backup server. This server is configured with RAID 6 using the smart array P410 controller and is currently on degrade mode.
Out of the 12 disks on bay, 3rd bay disk showed it was rebuilding while the 8th bay showed a predictive failure until yesterday. Below seen is the result till yesterday.
So, I let it rebuild to see what's happening and then the result showed as below; (as at today)
My question is, when I saw the predictive failure itself, I had order for a disk making sure I have everything ready in case of multiple disk failures.
Now my question is, since the 3rd bay shows that its failed, can I hot-swap the disk while the 8th bay shows rebuilding? Is it recommended or should I wait until the rebuilding process complete.

I am trying to configure our new Proliant DL380 Generation 10 hardware using automation. part of the solution is to configure the P408i controllers with a Raid 1 logical drive using SATA SSD drives, configuring with the REST API, (Note the Restful Interface client). When using the PUT Method, I get a 200 response, and the configuration shows, however, on reboot the config is not persistent.
The drives show as Mixed mode in the GUI, which I am not sure is a red herring, has anyone managed to successfully configure the drives by this method, and know that it is possible?

So I have a HP ProLiant ML 150 G6 server desktop, and its missing some parts- I got it from a friend. I does have a power supply, and it has 2 CPU sockets, one of them is already in there, need to find out the other one, but I don't know what CPU it is. I have no ram whatsoever, So I don't know what kind of ram I need. and there is no hard drives in there, but I can supply that assuming it works with any hard drives to date. I think there is 12 ram slots. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
