Hi,

when i try to use hp insight diagnostics online edition (last version) , on this HP DL 380 G6 , the web page opens , is tshow some buttons ( Survey, Status, Log, Admin, Help ) , but does not show Dignose Button, which is the one i want, so I can test Disk issues, like eminent faillure, etc.

some errors show on event viewer, source: sidebyside event ID 78 , with text like this one

"Activation context generation failed for "C:\hp\hpdiags\vmlhw_dl.dll".Error in manifest or policy file "" on line . A component version required by the application conflicts with another component version already active. Conflicting components are:. Component 1: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\amd64_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.4016_none_88dc01492fb256de.manifest. Component 2: C:\hp\hpdiags\Microsoft.VC80.CRT\Microsoft.VC80.CRT.MANIFEST."

there is another server , on the same LAN , and it runs insight diagnostics with no problems, but on this one , i can't.

operating system is  Windows 2008 64 bits on both servers.

i have allready copied hpdiags from the other server to this one but ... same result.

is there anything i can do to solve this?

Thanks in advance

Bonjour,

Server 1709 (Server 2016 Fast Track) on BL460c Gen9

Has anyone been able to install Server 1709 on HPE Blade hardware?

If running directly from the the DVD (No intelligent Provisioning), the installation process hangs when loading the splash screen.

If intelligent provisioning is used the bits are transferred to the disk but the first boot of the OS after the initial boot files causes the OS to hang at the splash screen with the circling dots.

The ISO image was downloded from Microsoft Volume Licensing Web site

Below is the image's title.

Patching Servers - iLO version, BIOS Version etc

Hi, we have some ProLiant DL360 Gen9 servers that have recently replaced our older fleet.

We are looking to introduce regular patching/updating of BIOS/iLO version etc, we are running VMWare 6.5 on these servers.

If I login to the server using the iLO it tells me the current version of the iLO/ROM etc, can someone tell me exactly where to find the updates for these that I can upload directly via the iLO. It is asking for a .bin file, but for some reason I am struggling to find these on the HPE drivers/patches website. When selecting the iLO updates for example, it is asking for the OS, such as Win Server etc, I want to apply it directly via the iLO, where do I get the files for this?

I feel like I am being a bit stupid with this to be honest, but if anyone is able to point me in the right direction it would be much appreicated.

Thanks very much.

DL360p Gen8 - ILO 4 "close" port 80

Greetings,

After a scan with Nessus on DL360p Gen8 machines, with ILO 4 2.55 installed, port 80 is active and listening.

This is a big "NO NO" for PCI DSS compliance, and I need to close it.

When I try to access ILO via HTTP, I am redirected to HTTPS, so at least that's good

However, going to the ILO 4, Administration > Access Settings > Web Server Non-SSL port, I can change the port 80 to something elese, but I cannot disable it.

Strangely, I have another machine with ILO 4 2.55 as well, BUT a DL360 Gen 9 instead of 8 like the others, and this machine returns no open port 80 in nmap, while having the exact same configuration in Administration > Access Settings.

Can anyone shed some light?

How can I disable port 80 in ILO 4?

Thanks in advance,

Ricardo

HP SUM 8.0.0 - “component signature file missing”

Hello,

We have recently installed a HP SUM v8.0.0 to manage our hardware updates on BL460c Gen9.

Also, we have added a baseline with SPP 2017.10.1.

We have lots of warnings about "component signature file missing". The affected components do not have the associated .compsig file.

Due to this, these components are not considered for upgrade.

How can we solve this?.

Thanks.

DL160 Gen9 Driver for G200eH

Hello all. I have an HP DL160 Gen9 server running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and the graphics are terribly laggy. Even on a blank desktop from a fresh reboot, just opening a Windows Explorer window is choppy. It gets worse when running a program or two.

I looked in the Device Manager and the graphics card is an onboard Matrox G200eH. I've tried the default Windows Driver search from the OS and of course it says the best driver is already installed. Looking on the Matrox site hasn't been successful, as the drivers I've found were either meant for Windows Server operating systems or for cards that aren't of the G200 series.

Anyone have a solution or ideas? Thanks a bunch!

HPE branded Windows Server 2016 OEM bios lock on Hyper-V server 2016 Host

Hi,

I tryed to install Win server 2016 as a VM on a Hyper-v server 2016 Host but get the following erro:

"Failed Bios Lock: "

Tried to solve with a solution posted for Win server 2008 and win server 2012  in this same HPE community:

https://community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/TIP-How-to-install-a-HP-branded-Windows-OS-as-a-virtual-server/td-p/6880089

but it didn't work.

I can find a solution for VMWare host, but what I need is for Microsoft Windows Server 2016 on a  Hyper-V server 2016 Host.

Can some one Help?

Thanks

HELP DL380 G5 RAID array lost due to two failed hard drives

Where I work has an old G5 working as a share drive for the employees and if failed two drives.  It has the P400 controller and when I run the HP Smart Start CD and array diagnostics I get...  Bad news

"This logical drive has failed and cannot be used.  All data on this logical drive has been lost."

I got some new drives before I started looking into this thinking that by replacing the bad ones it was possible to rebuild with the HP software but when I went to do that I received the error.

My obvious quesiton is how to fix this and get my data at least and at best the server working back to the way it was?

Thank you for your responce

DL380 G5 updates refurb unit

Let me start by saying I am completely new to HP servers. I recently bought a refurb DL380G5 from a buiseness to fiddle with at home and to further my education on working with servers.

While searching for any possible driver (BIOS or p400) updates on the, in my opinion horrible to use, hpe website, I found that all of these said 'entitlement required' . Since I cannot inn any way get a support/warranty contract for this server does this mean I'm just out of luck and can never install any of these updates?

I hope someone can clarify this for me as I am not completely sure and I'd like to be before I potentially invest any money in this server or HP servers in general.

Kind regards.

Proliant UEFI no boot command, can't boot Ubuntu 14 USB

HPE ML10 Gen9 G4400 4GB Entry Server;

EFI Specification Version 2.4  EFI Revision 5.11 American MegaTrends

EFI Shell 1.0 IA32

I tried to upload pictures but I was denied.

When I boot to EFI shell, there is no boot command listed.

When I try to mount blk0 Ubuntu USB to fs0 it forgets it in the next command. Next time I map -r it's gone.

How do I set up (Legacy or UEFI) to install from a Ubuntu-written USB drive?

Thanks,
