Proliant 380gen9 & P440ar & Mixing 12g SAS & 6G sas

This seems like a basic question but I have to ask...

With the DL380 gen 9 and P4540 controller, can I mix 6gb SAS and 12GB sas in the same RAID 6 array?  I assume the 12GB sas drive would know to slow down but I have read some places that some controllers may have issues with this and won't slow down the faster drives to accomodate this.  Is there any official documentation from HP that would state this?  I’m looking to expand my storage on my g9 and it currently ahs 1.2TB 6g SAS drives -  718292-001 with 12GB sas drives - 872479-B21.

P.S.

HP please stop placing all MIB files together in one file. I toke me days to get the right MIB for my switch and now I am stuck with my server.

ML110 G7 Centos 7 possible?

I've got a new in box ML110 G7 that I'm going to set up for home use and I'm considering Centos 7. Centos 6 has drivers on the HPE website for the storage array (RHEL 6 driver disk) but I'm wondering if the 2020 end of life of Centos 6 will be an issue since it will be internet facing for a Owndrive instance.

Anyone have any experience setting this up with HPE drivers for the array versus just flat disks? I'd appreciate any experience you all have.

Dear experts ,

HP DL360 Gen9

smart array P441 controller

Enclosure D3700

During testing Physical disk removal alarm (SNMP Trap) from the D3700 enclosure, in the NMS system they are receiving two alarms, one is related to the logical drive faulty, another related to the spare disk which took place as a backup for the faulty one. We should receive a 3rd trap notifying about the phsysical disk failure. Unfortunately this is not recieved in the NMS monitor.

Disk details with Firmware version is attached for reference,

Can you help me here?

Creating a logical array with iLORest - correct syntax?

$

I am running the ilorest.exe tool from WinPEv10 on some test 380 Gen9 and 10 servers.

Looking through all the documentation doesn't give me the correct syntax for creating a logical drive.

I am running this command from powershell:

ilorest.exe --nologo --nocache createlogicaldrive customdrive RAID1 "1I:3":"1,1I:3:2" --name=LogicalDrive0 --spare-drives="1I:3:3" --spare-type=Dedicated--capacityGiB=-1 --accelerator-type=ControllerCache --controller="Slot 0"

It tells me "One or more properties were changed and will not take effect until system is restarted"

So it all looks fine.

When I run ilorest.exe pending it shows the logical drive pending creation but the "Sparedrives=" and "Datadrives=" sections are both blank, no drive identifiers are listed.

Does anyone know how to tell this command which drives to use?

I have tried the drive identifiers above (1I:3:1, etc) and [1] and 1 but none seem to work.

Drive keeps on being unassigned after reboot - B120i Raid Controller (DL320e G8)

Hello,

I've disconnected my disc drive, and instead have opted in to install a SSD instead. The SSD is recognised by the system, under the B120i Embedded Raid Controller. I create a logical drive of RAID 0, rescan the system to see if it's completed, and it's all good! After I reboot the system, the system states that no logical drives have been installed on that raid controller. I open up the raid utility, and it shows that no logical drives have been created! What's the issue?

I also have a B220i raid card installed in the system as well, which works perfectly fine with 4 x 3TB drives installed, all under RAID 0, which is not affected by the above.

Thank You!

HP DL380 G8 Nvidia GRID not showing up

$

Hello,

i am currently trying to deploy 3x Nvidia GRID K1 and 1x Nvidia GRID K2 in 4 of my DL380 G8 Servers.
For the deployment i ordered the following parts besides already owning the Servers with Dual V2 CPUs and 1200W PSUs:

3x 710727-001 ( Secondary Double Wide GPU Riser Cage)

3x 670728-001 ( GPU Y-Power Cable ) 10pin -> 8pin + 6pin

I have put 2x K1 and 1x K2 in the riser and attached the cable. After Installing the riser into the server i started it and the Riser card LED showed up as green as well. In neither BIOS or Standard Debian Live the cards are showing up. I tried all 3 riser.. No Luck.

For the sake of comfirming that the cards are fine i tried them in my workstation and they showed up from second 1 in my Device Manager on Windows. For eliminating the Riser having issues, i installed an H241 HBA into it and it got recognized as well without issues.

I would really appreciate any help to get those cards working in my Servers.
