DL 380p Gen9 + NC 365T problems ?

Hi!

Need help, Server DL 380p Gen8 latest firmware update for bios, ilo and etc. All work fine, 4 fan installed - fan speed ~ 8-14 %, nice! We install NC 365T 4 port NIC card (it's in HPE compability list for this server), server boot up normaly, all green in ILO, but ILO see NC 365T as Intel 82850 nic (not HPE NC365T) and fan speed ~ 34 - 36 % with more noise then before. OS: WinServer 2012 R2.

We try install another NIC 365T in this server = fan speed 34-36%, ok, we install 365Tnic in another SAME config and FW DL380p G8 server = fan speed SAME 34-36 % .and ILO show Intel 82850 ...    

So questions: 

Why server speed up fans with this nic 365T ? With add on (2-nd) NC 331t = NO FAN speed up or noise ... 

Why original HPE device detected as "no name" Intel NIC ?

How we can get FW and HPE drivers update for NC365T, it's no FW downloads for it on site for WS2012R2 (((  HPE 2008R2 - 2012 drivers NOT work for whis nic ...

DL380 G6 boot problem

Hi

sorry for my poor english :-(

It's my first post and I'm a beginner about server managment

I found a DL380 G6 in my lab and I'm trying to starting up but without any success

I don't see anything on monitor connected via in front vga

when I switch on the server, the situation is with beeping and red led blinking with

all the dimms switch on

after all, I try to switch off/on again and the situaztion becames with only the led proc 1 and 2 switch on

and always the red led blinking

any suggestions?

How do I get RAID status via BIOS/BMC/ILO only?

I monitor the undercloud for an IaaS operation. RAIDs are configured prior to installation of any OS or hypervisor. Our customers install the software (OS or hypervisor). I have no knowledge of what gets installed, nor I do I have access to the software; only remote access to the BMC/ILO port. I use a Linux system as my monitoring host. How can I obtain the status of a remote Proliant RAID from my local Linux box using only the hardware (BMC/ILO) port of the remote server? I get some information via IPMI sensor query usint "ipmitool", but that is very limited.

Hi!

Hello good afternoon.

I currently have a ML110 G9 server with Windows Server 2016, which has two RJ45 ports integrated and currently I am only using one and I would like to use both.

I am using the Hyper-V with several virtual machines and both the server and the virtual machines are using the same RJ45 port, and I would like to be able to divide the traffic of the virtual machines and the server using the two ports of the server.


How could I configure the network card to be able to split the two ports without any conflict?

Replacing P440ar controller that has bad cache

I have another ML350 Gen with a P440ar controller in it. I'm thinking I should be able to replace the controller and it should detect the array with no issues. The replacement controller has a newer firmware. My question is here something I should do to the replacement controller to make sure the cache is clean or doesn't have any existing settings?

I'm also thinking to leave the battery off the controller during the first boot. Thoughts?

Replace a 6gb SAS drive member of a raid array, with a 12gb SAS drive

I have some HP DL380P GEN8 servers (653200-B21) with 2x 300GB 6gb SAS drives at raid 1 configuration eatch. Originally purchased drives with servers were HP P/N: 619286-001 and some of them have been replaced with part no: 652564-B21. Is it safe to replace a 6gb raid member disk with a 12gb disk like Part No: 785067-B21 (i have a couple of them)  and mix 6 and 12gbs drives at the same RAID1 array?

Hello,

 

I am new to IT and dont understand much yet but my company recently procured a HPE ProLiant DL360p Gen8 1U Bladetype server and I have been asked to monitor the server components via SNMP. 

I have looked around and found that I need the Mib file for in order to extract the required OID. 

I will appreciate any help with getting the Mib file.

Hello everyone,
I have a problem on my server HP 350 gen 8, the LED remains orange by pressing the power button. I reconnected, plugged, press more seconds the power button but the LED is still orange. A friend advised me to enter the ILO and send him the log. Can you help me please. I thank you for your kind collaboration.

Hi, 

I'm trying to get my new HDD's to work but they do not show up and the led light on the tray's are red.
Is there a way to get these disks to work?

P410i is on the latest FW version. 
The old drives work fine.

Cant Install SO on new Server

Hello,

I am trying to install windows server 2016 to a Proliant ML30 Gen9 server but when I enter IP pressing F10 I get the next error: warning unable to mount the file system LABEL

I already update the ROM firmware, reset de NVRAM with the switch number 6 on the motherboard,  download the IP iso and when i try to update de system i get the next error: Error flashing the NVRAM .

I dont know what else to do, since the server is new and dosent have any SO install Yet.

Please i need help

SFF compatibility going from a ML370 G6 to ML350 Gen10

Good day. A customer has a very old Proliant ML370G6 that came with a HP Smart Array P410i.

A RAID was formed with six disks HP 146GB 10K SAS (518194-001). The server after 8 years, had a backplane failure last night and our options to migrate the disks/RAID to another server and extract the data involves locally purchasing another Proliant.

I can get a HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen10 4110 1P 16GB-R P408i-a 8SFF 1x800W RPS Base Server (877621-001) that come with a P408i RAID card.

Questions:

If I buy the ML350 Gen10 Can I just insert the SFF SAS disks into the server and will the RAID be recognized?

I am not expecting to boot (Windows 2008 R2) flawlessly, but was hoping i can get the raid to be recognized and then proceed to extract SQL data.

I dont have other SAS options around. I need to purchase stuff from a local shop. suggestions are welcomed.

I need the software that came with the proliant DL380 G6 server, I've lost the one that it came with, I am trying to restore this server back to factory setting so that I can install window 8 or12 R2 Std OS. Anyone has one to give or sell.

Hi,

we have two ProLiant Servers. One ML 350 G6 and one ML 350 G9. In each we have an Emulex FC HBA. It's working fine, i have access to my SAN from both. But i do not see them, nor in System Management Homepage neither in Systems Insight Manager. I'm running SLES 12 SP3 on both, on one i installed the HP Driver and fibreutils from the most recent SPP, but that doesn't help. The other has the original SuSE driver and no fibreutils, also not visible in SMH or SIM.

SFF to LFF drive carrier conversion

Hi folks,

Server: ProLiant DL180 Gen9 with 8-drive LFF drive bay

Unfortunately, I didn't look out, and purchased HP 400 GB SSD SAS drives for SSF drive bay, as a complement for the existing 6 disks for the server. Imagine my chagring, when I found out I couldn't install the drives. I need to find some kind of drive tray for converting those drives from SFF to LFF. Does somebody know if HP has got conversion kits? Or if there are 3rd party items conversion kits? The drives are pretty expensive and I want to put them to use (badly needed to speed up database use).
