i have a problem with my HP proliant DL580 G7 server, it was working well but all of the sudden it got an issue and now its in loop boot. it displays an error " Slot 0 HP smart Array P410i controller, 1783-Slot 0 Driver Array controller failure! " now its attempting to boot from NIC then it keeps in restarting loop.
how can i fix this??
Just a note before i explain whats wrong. This is my first time working with a industry level server. I have built and managed servers out of old pc parts so i know the "basics" if you will.
So about a week a ago, my college did an upgrade to the servers. Removing 3-4 ProLiant G5 DL380 servers for something fancier and new. They offered them up to my class ( I am in a networking and computer hardware major) to those that want them. I eneded up taking one home to use as a sandbox and learn what industry level servers are like. Everything but the hard drives, ram and a CMOS battery were included.
I did my research for the ram, the offical document said it needs PC2-5300 ECC Ram. Got 32GB (4GB x 8). I also got 2 HP 2.5" drives and a 2032 battery.
Today i went to put it all together and couldn't even reach the point to enter RBSU. I am getting two short beeps on post, the display is active but is a black screen ( i know its outputing as the monitor no longer says no input). I have tried removing everything but one stick of ram, a processor, and one psu, but still the exact beep code.
If anyone has some tips for me i would greatly appreciate the help.

a physical disk of my Proliant 360G7 is in the state of "predictive failure" (honestly I do not know how long it is in this state).
The logical drive has two disks configured in raid 1 with P410i RAID controller.
The O.S. is Ubuntu server 16.04.2 LTS. In linux i don't have a graphic ACU, I discovered the problem using hpacucli utility with this command:
hpacucli ctrl all show config
I have read various theories about making a hot swap of a disk in the state of predictive failure state, but my problem is that I should replace the disk with a disk coming from another server where it was configured in another array.
if I pull out the broken disk and insert another one with foregin configuration, the raid controller automatically clear the foregin configuration and rebuild the disk? if to solve the problem I have to restart the server and enter the raid configuration utility, what are the steps to follow to cancel the foreign configuration and start the reconstruction? please help friends, I have trouble when installing Windows Server 2016 on HPE DL380 GEN 10, always failing, with an error message like this:
"Windows cannot find the Microsoft Software License Terms. Make sure the installation sources are valid and restart the installation."
My windows is original, I downloaded the Windows Server 2016 ISO file from the Microsoft website directly, but why is it problematic with the license?

I tried to find the answer for this question, but couldn't get exact one. Here it's written that it doesn't affect servers warranty : https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-lpn11980 , but it's old document and stated that this answer is for HP Netserver, not sure if it's applicable for current servers.
So can I get anwer from HPE represantative if using non HPE memory (RAM) and HDD/SSD on HPE gen9/10 server will nullify or won't affect server's warranty?
P.S. I understand that non HPE memory/hdd/ssd won't give you full compability, performance, etc.

Was wondering if there was a ACU version which supports windows 2016 on a proliant dl380 g8.
SSA works, but ACU is more insightfull than SSA. to my opinion.

I have 2 old DL380 G7's and 2 (slightly less) old DL360e Gen8's but these have no memory in them
I just want to know if the memory in my DL380 G7's will work in the DL360e Gen8's.
I have 18 x8GB sticks currently in my DL380 G7's giving me a total of 144GB of usable memory. I am aware the dl360e Gen8's only support a maximum of 12 sticks of RAM with 2 CPU's installed so I have memory to spare if I swap it over.
I've read this thread HERE and I know about the official stance around Smart Memory support etc, but putting that aside, will the memory in the G7's
1. Physical Fit for DL360e Gen8's
2. Will the DL360e Gen8's boot up with it?
I'm well aware of all the bad ideas of doing this, but practically, will it work? The post in the link above seemed to imply it will, but I'm asking again just to be sure.

I would like to install my linux OS with strict minimal. I don't need much space. So I would like to install it on the internal Embedded Flash/SD-CARD the same way VMWare does for it ESXi.
it will save me the buying off unnecessary disk, and hopefully be more secure than living a USB key to boot from ouside of the servers ...
is there ant documentation for this on DL380 Gen8/9/10 ?

Troubleshooting i done
- Load BIOS setup defaults
- Replaced CMOS battery
- Disable I/O devices on BIOS (including serial/paralle/usb port)
- Clean motherboard specially the PCIX slot (4 slots)
- Try to move SCSI Controller Card on other PCIX Slots
- Installed different SCSI Controller Card (Card form working form same Specs HP Server)
- Replace RAM
- Try to move RAM to other slots
All of these are no success. Please help me to troubleshoot.

I have a problem I had a server with the configuration RAID 5 and I lost this configuration and I think that I lost the contained data in this kind of array, Is there some software to save the information in this array? or I need to reinstall again this server and can I say that I lost this information???,thanks for your help and thanks in advance, Please Jimmy or another contributor could you help me with that?

Connecting a R/T3000 G2 UPS to a ML310e G8 (Windows Standard 2012) server using the serial cable provided with the UPS. The serial device is recognised but sits in the Device Manager with a yellow explanation mark – driver not installed! I cannot find any reference to a serial driver at the HP Driver and Support site under ML310e G8 or the R/T3000... Automatic Windows driver updates cannot find a driver either....? Any ideas welcome...?

Yes, the USB cable is detected too and the driver for that installs fine. We want to use the serial cable though:)
We recently purchased the ProLiant ML 150 Gen9 Server. In this we would need to work with graphical applications as well. The system has Matrox G200eH Video controller. However, it is not supporting OPENGL applications. Any help regarding this? What driver Can I install in order to get this problem resolved?
