HI guys,

for two months I have this error on my servers, DL380 G9.

  1. Option ROM POST Error: 1719-Slot 0 Drive Array - A controller failure event occurred prior to this power-up. (Previous lock up code = 0x12) Action: Install the latest controller firmware. If the problem persists, replace the controller.

  2. Option ROM POST Information: 1792-Slot 0 Drive Array - Valid Data Found in Write-Back Cache. Data will automatically be written to drive array. Action: No action required

the server freezes and then restarts, it does not show any errors in the /var/log/messages

we have already updated firmware, drivers S.O (hpsa), bios, we did not get a newer fw for the model disks (EG000300JWFUQ), for 15 servers we have 5 restart with the same error.

DL360P Gen8 P420i Question

Good evening:

I have a DL360P Gen8 on the way and it has a P420i RAID controller that I plan to use to implement RAID10 on the server.  (There are only 4 drive bays.)

I'm just wondering:  If I put in four 3TB drives and configure RAID 10 and want to add larger capacity drives down the line, would I be able to just remove a drive and insert the new drive and allow the array to rebuild?

I've never been on the user end of this particular hardware...usually I'm building the stuff.

Thank you!

Dear All,

Greetings!!

We have an HP DL 380 G9 Server with 5 SAS 10K HDD on ADG 6 (01 HDD on HotSpare) with WIN2K16 Hyper-V Installed and 3 Business Critical VM's Running on them.

I need to add an additional 3 HDD  (SAS 10K) to the Server without disturbing the current status.  i.e. (Don't want to break Windows or RAID or Loose Data)

Can anyone point me in the right direction with involved steps.

Appreciate your Assistance Very much

Thank you

Cheers

Hi!

So problem is that, my iLO of HP Proliant DL380G9 noticed that some problems with HDD

Status  Degraded (Predictive failure) Serial Number 03GHYAZC Model EG0600JEHMA Media Type HDD Capacity 600 GB Location Port 2I Box 3 Bay 7 Firmware Version HPD5 Drive Configuration Configured Encryption Status Not Encrypted

HDD MODEL that installed is EG0600JEHMA

i bought another driver HPE MODEL: EG000600JWJNP

I tried to compare them - it's look like everything is the same, only firmware is different HPD5 and HPD1

Can someone tell me can i make a replacement with new drive?

Thank you in advance!

GPU, 10GB NIC and NVMe SSD in ProLiant DL360P Gen8?

I only have 4 bays in my server, so I was planning on sticking a PCIe NVMe SSD in one of the PCI slots. to use as a boot drive and for storage of media items that I'm working on before being moved off to the main storage.

The other slot I was going to use for a 10GB fiber NIC.

As far as I know, these things only have 2 PCI slots.

Well...I would really like to put a GPU in this thing to speed up video rendering.

Can you guys think of a way to get all this working?

Thanks!!

ACU Spare Management | Remove Used/Missing Spare

Hello,

We recenlty removed a spare from Bay 8 and installed it into Bay 5 to replace a failed HDD. I would like to know how to remove/clear the error shown in the attached screenshot. The ACU is very lacking in information that reveals what task(s) will actually be executed. In the screenshot. I am in Spare Management scren under Configuration with the removed HDD checked. Will selecting SAVE simply remove the Spare no longer present in this Bay?

This is a Mission Critical Production server so we must be sure of the action that will take place next.

Thank you!

Corrupt Cache P4500G2

I have 4 SANs and 2 of the 4 SANs are showing cahche status as corrupted.

This happened after they were shut down (properly, removed all connections, put in maintenance mode, shut down management group) and brought online again.

I read that a firmware upgrade could probably resolve the issue, however after downloading all of the upgrades, it will not apply them because devices are in a critical state (because the cache is corrupt)

How can I either bypass the check for critical errors when upgrading, or alternatively uncorrupt the cache?

Hello,

I'm going to install a graphics card in my ML350 Gen9 and was wondering what cable I need to get if I need a 6-pin PCI-E power connector to the GPU?

From what I've seen online there is a 8-pin connector on the motherboard that I need connect a cable that will be 6-pin in the other end but I can't find the right cable.

SPP firmware update on CentOS cli

Hi Community,

we setup a lot of HPE Gen9 and Gen10 DL servers for endcustomer use.
Update the firmware to the level of the current SPP is the first step.

At the moment, we use latest SPP iso on a bootable USB drive.
We boot from USB drive. In the SUM GUI we use automated settings.
The systems firmware is updated with the current baseline with the autodetection of updates in the SPP.

To automize this process I would like to perform this process on CentOS 7 cli.
CentOS is just command line, no GUI.
The system won't have Interent access and I don't want to use any online repository with apt-get or similiar.

I need a tool like SUT that runs on linux cli. (Not with the GUI like SUM)
As repositroy I want to use whole SPP. (so I can specify directory or file location in cli command)

I wasn't able to find out how to do that with the HPE guides.
Which tool can I use?
SUT from here: http://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/repo/sut/

Do I have to use the Firmware Pack for ProLiant (fwpp) instead of SPP?
Are there any license/entitlement tokens required for using sut on linux cli?

If any of you uses this method, what are the commands for automatic discovery and update using a defined repository?

Thanks in advance.

I've recently bought this server and was trying to find the specific specs for the motherboard in particular. I am trying to upgrade the CPU but it seems there is no CPU list? If someone can help out, it would be much appreciated. I have scoured google these last two days and have found nothing.

All 10GB NICs for DL380 Gen10 retired?

Hi.
Was looking for possible replacement cards for HPE 562FLR-SFP+ 10GB 2 port card and I noticed that all of the  10GB Networkcards on the DL380 Gen10 is retired as of August 2018. But they are still there on the quickspec and it seems no replacements has been added.

Someone know if it's a misstake or what Networkcards to use instead?

Conrep not working on Server 2016, Gen10 DL360

I cannot get conrep to work on a Gen10 DL360 server running Windows Server 2016. I take the following steps:

  1. From the scripting toolkit (v. 11.20), copy hpsstkio.sys to C:\Windows\System32\drivers
  2. Make sure the file is Unblocked
  3. Install the CHIF ilo driver
  4. Unzip the contents of the HP scripting toolkit (v. 11.20) onto the server
  5. Run, for example, "conrep -s -f current.xml"

The output on the screen is as follows:

c:\Program Files\HP\Toolkit>conrep -s -f current.xml
conrep 5.3.0.0 - HPE Scripting Toolkit Configuration Replication Program

        ROM Family : U32
        Processor Manufacturer : Intel(R) Corporation

XML System Configuration: conrep_gen10.xml
Hardware Configuration: current.xml
        Global Restriction: [5.00 ] OK

Platform check:
                : [Gen10 ] match

However, no file is created. Running "echo %errorlevel%" yields: -1073741819. So it definitely didn't execute properly but I don't know what the error code means.

Any help would be appreciated.

TPM module

Hi Group.

Question,

If I will enable TPM module in any particular DL 360 G9 server can I use in any other machine or it is assigned to the hardware somehow.

If I will remove the TPM module in the machine where it has been enabled I understand I will loose access to the data encrypted by the key?

Can I use the encryption keys on one machine once I do not needed can I disable the TPM module and use it in different server?

Thanks,

Piotr
