Hello,
I have HP DL380p G8 server in my home lab. I would like to extend my 8 SFF server about 25SFF drive bay. I would like to ask you
thank you
Hello good afternoon!
This next week I have to install this network card to an ML110 G9, and I wanted to ask you if when updating the network card through the SPP, apart from updating the firmware and installing the drivers, it also installs a management software to be able to activate or deactivate the features of this network card. Or simply manage the network card through Windows server 2016, in the section of the device manager?
Thank you!
Dear team,
I have new HP Server HP Proliant DL380 Gen10 with 6 hard drives of 300GB each. I have been trying to configure RAID 5 so that I can combine my disks into one logical drive.
My server has intelligent provisioning with HP Smart Array P408i-a SR.
I have gone through the correct steps of configuring RAID but at the point of selecting the drives to create a logical drive I get a warning message " One or more selected drives are connected to mixed mode ports, and directly exposed to the OS. These drives will become unavailable to the OS after this operation."
When I proceed and ignore this message my logical drive is successfully created . However, on installing Windows Server 2019 Standard the logical drive is seen under drives but has no volumes and can not be accessed or used for data storage. Only the partition where windows is installed is accessible.
I noticed it's possible to configure port modes to HBA or RAID but my Intelligent Provisioning has no such option.
Please advise.
Thanks
I'm using sum-8.3.1-7.rhel7.x86_64.rpm on a CentOS 7.
I'm running the following command in a shell script:
smartupdate --s --use_location "${spp}" --romonly --logdir "${log_path}"
This works as expected on DL380G9 (with ilo4). (with ilo Advance license and without license)
The same on DL360G10 8no ilo5 license) gives me an error:
sum_service_x64 started successfully on port 63001, ssl port 63002 and ftp port disabled. Add Node failed for Node - localhost Reason: Installation of iLO Channel Interface Driver failed. Please refer scouting log file for more information. Sending Shutdown request to engine Waiting for engine to shutdown Successfully shutdown the service.
Somehow there is a problem with the CHIF driver for iLO 5.
I was able to install the CHIF driver manually from:
/var/tmp/localsum/x64/chifdriver/ilo5/rhel7/kmod-hpilo-hpilo-1.5.0-337.9.rhel7u3.x86_64.rpm
But again there's an error:
sum_service_x64 started successfully on port 63001, ssl port 63002 and ftp port disabled. Deploy skipped for localhost as one of the installables has failed dependency and Omit host is set. Deploy failed on Node - localhost Deploy error. Deploy skipped as one of the installables has failed dependency and OmitHost is set. Sending Shutdown request to engine Waiting for engine to shutdown Successfully shutdown the service.
I'm using custom SPP with all firmwares for all DL Gen9 and Gen10 servers for RHEL 7 as package.
Does anyone know the reason for the error?
It's the latest SUM for RHEL 7 and I'm using firmware files from latest SPP.
How can I troubleshoot the problem?
Are there any new dependencies on ilo5? (I'm using standard license)
HP ProLiant ML350p Gen8. ILO4 is version 2.0. I'm trying to update it to 2.61.
If I do it through the local Windows install, it sits at "The installation is being performed...." for a good 45 minutes, then quits with an error along the lines of "upload failed".
If I do it through the ILO interface itself, the upload is incredibly slow, and times out after 12% or so.
One possibly relevant thing to note (and the reason we are trying to updated it) is that the ILO is very very sluggish. The web interface is abnormally slow to respond and even simple SNMP requests to it frequently time out. We of course tried a complete factory reset (no change).
An automatic (Windows update) reboot last week seems to have crashed our DNS and DHCP services in our domain controller (HPE ProLiant DL160 Gen9, Windows 2012 R2). It is not possible to login to it (via RDP or directly on the machine) with any domain account (error message claims no login servers are available), shares are not available and printer queues are not available neither.
Nobody has the local Administrator-credentials noted down so I need to start up the server in Windows 2012R2 repair mode to manually reset the local Admin password. I have managed to do that (manually fixing the 2012R2 installation USB drive to boot in UEFI-mode according to chapter 4 in "UEFI Deployment Guide for HPE ProLiant Gen9 Servers" and the USB boot chapter in "UEFI System Utilities User Guide for HPE ProLiant Gen9 Servers and HPE Synergy", pen drive in NTFS format instead of FAT32 since the install.wim file is around 5.73 GB), but it refuses to boot from my USB pen drive in UEFI mode. If I try to boot in Legacy mode, it boots, but I do not have access to the RAID array (even after manually loading the drivers).
So clearly I am missing some step to make the pen drive to boot in UEFI mode but I am not capable of finding out what it might be.
Good Day Experts,
We have a mix of these Hard Drives in our HP Proliant DL380p Gen8 and wants to know exactly the difference between these two models.
thank you in advance.

Good afternoon.
I just installed this network card: HPE Ethernet 10Gb 561T (In Windows Server 2016)
According to the specifications, with Segmentation Offload technology, you should reduce the processor load when using a large bandwidth. The truth is that I have not noticed any reduction in processor consumption. I have accessed the device manager and I see that all Offload options are activated. I am currently using a bandwidth of 600Mb, and I see that the processor works the same as with the integrated network card.
With this technology should you notice a significant reduction in processor consumption, or is the process of these tasks a minor percentage?
Thank you!
Hello,
We have several HP DL160 servers with video card Matrox Extio F2408 that is connected to Matrox Box.
We had some issues with these cards and we installed the latest drivers WDDM and also disable the Embedded Videooutput (BIOS->Advanced Options->Video Output -> Add-in Video Enabled, Embedded Disabled) and finally it works ok.
However there is a problem when the Matrox Box is powered down and server is restarted. Then, BIOS is losing the settings and it turns to "Both Add-in and Embedded Video Enabled" . When Matrox is powered up again, after the restart of server, the screen is black connected to Matrox is black and Add-in Video is disabled.
Is there any solution for that? To keep Add-in Video Enabled?
Best regards

We are using HP proliant ml10 having Win server 2012 R2 OS, on which is running a warning software, but on this HP machine does not have sound support. How can output sound from ML10 gen9 running win server 2012 R2.
Thanks.
I bought a couple of old DL380 G3 servers last year to mess around with, and have been unable to get a monitor to work on them. I keep getting the error message:
1 Analog Input
Cannot Display This Video Mode
Optimum Resolution 1280 x 1024 60hz
I tried running them headless, with some success, but I'm not an admin type, and I've forgotten what I did. If I can get the monitor to work with them, that would be great. Seems to display text ok. It's when it goes to do something graphical that I THINK might be the stumbling point.
I even bought an old Dell monitor that someone else who was selling the same servers said he had success with. No luck yet. Any ideas?
Hello,
I came in to to work this morning and my HP Proliant DL380p/Gen 8 had an I/O error on the display. After looking in the logs I found: "Array controller P420 located in server slot 2 has reported that it previously locked up with code 40895763" and the server shut down last night at 7:41:41PM 12/4/2018 (last night).
I looked at the HP Smart Storage Administrator and checked the Smart Array P420\Slot 2. There were 0 status messages listed.
I am not sure what else to do at this point. I can run Diagnostics after hours when no one else is on the system.
Can an export please advise on what to do next?
Thanks,
Reeze

Hi,
I've recently enabled Third Party Updates in SCCM (SCCM 1806).
I've come across a problem.
The HP integration seems fine, all updates show up, I can publish them and after a sync they appear "green" in SCCM and are supposedly ready for download.
That's where it goes wrong.
The "Content Information" on these updates points to http://WSUS_SSL_SERVER:8530/Content/xx/xxxxxxx.cab
This content folder exists, but there's only a text file in there. I've found out that the actual content resides in a folder next to that folder called UpdateServicesPackages
Hi, I have just purchased a DL360e G8 Server and it has a B120i Strorage Controller.
It cames with 2 x Kingstron 60GB SATA SSDs. in drive bay 1 and 2.
I would like to add some more capacity to the Server but I understand that.
1. It will only see the smallest drive size in the array so the rest of the space any others drives will go unsed. Meaning that if I put in anything bigger than 60GB it wouldnt use the sapce and the only way I could get it work at a later date would be to replace the 60GB drives.
2. It says that I can only use 4 drives with the B120i even though I have 8 SFF bays. Is this true?
3. Can I use a standard 2.5 SATA SSD as a replacement drive?. Like the Kingston SSD Now 300s, or any other make?
Thanks
We've a new Gen10 hardware in our enviornment and we're trying to install the Windows Server 2016 OS in server through SAN, but are unable to install.
Storage adapter is always becomes disabled whenever we enable it from Boot Setttings and there's failure when trying to install the OS
Hi
I'm going to buy an used HP ProLiant DL380 G6 Server and I found it seems to be compatible only with Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012 and with Windows Small Business Server 2011.
I'm using a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard OS in the old server I'm going to change with the new: can I use this license in the new server?
I found a this Windows Server 2012 license on Amazon: is it good for my new server?

Thank's a lot,
