I have a question about redundancy of the the follwoing RAID config.
I have 4x 4TB drives and set up 1 array with 3 logical drives
1) RAID 1+0 150GB,
2) RAID 5 with 10.3TB,
3) RAID 1+0 290GB
How many drives can i loose in the above scenario? Only 1?

I have a problem with installing Windows 2012r2 operating system on HP DL120 G7 server.
How to set up RAID, I'll load controller drivers, but you can't see the disks
I will run as AHCI or Legacy, then when trying to install I have:
"we could not create a new partition or locate an existing partition"
the drives are good because I checked on several drives.
When I try to install via SmartStart I have the same message as above
Do I need to set something in BIOS? I reset to factory settings

I have a strange error with my homelab and is not been easy to fix it.
Like to know if anyone have ever seen this error.
When I try to boot the server I always get this image after the controller test and when is supose to boot with the select boot device(this case is a SD card), but is the same if I select local disks or whatever.

I have already changed the CPUs (from E5620 to E5520), memory and also removed the controller cash to check if this is the issue, but no luck. Always I get this.
Have anyone seen this error?

hi, we are currently using HP Proliant DL 180 Gen 9 server, and for last 1 week, my server Fan is moving at full speed making a loud sound. when it starts it was happening for some time and then fan speed reduced but last 2 days its all the time moving at full speed.
I checked regarding this on the web and found out that the firmware needs to be updated.so I am little confused if I update the firmware will it affect to my raid plus other configurations and my server data.

I've just updated a bunch of gen9 servers by running HP Sum on a Windows server and inventoring the Gen 9 vmware hosts & installing the updates - easy...
Tried to do the same thing on my gen 10 servers and it tells me I need to use iLO to update. I've searched but not found any documentation on how to do this. I can't upload the HPSum iso to the iLo so how can I inventory and check what needs updating? Sorry if I'm missing something really simple here.

I want to collect the firmware version details for all HP servers (all Proliant DL model). I am using HP iLO PS cmdlet and it works for all the iLO 3 systems but getting error for iLO2. Is there any other method to collect the iLO firmware version details perticularly for iLO2 ? Kindly help.

An automatic (Windows update) reboot last week seems to have crashed our DNS and DHCP services in our domain controller (HPE ProLiant DL160 Gen9, Windows 2012 R2). It is not possible to login to it (via RDP or directly on the machine) with any domain account (error message claims no login servers are available), shares are not available and printer queues are not available neither.
Nobody has the local Administrator-credentials noted down so I need to start up the server in Windows 2012R2 repair mode to manually reset the local Admin password. I have managed to do that (manually fixing the 2012R2 installation USB drive to boot in UEFI-mode according to chapter 4 in "UEFI Deployment Guide for HPE ProLiant Gen9 Servers" and the USB boot chapter in "UEFI System Utilities User Guide for HPE ProLiant Gen9 Servers and HPE Synergy", pen drive in NTFS format instead of FAT32 since the install.wim file is around 5.73 GB), but it refuses to boot from my USB pen drive in UEFI mode. If I try to boot in Legacy mode, it boots, but I do not have access to the RAID array (even after manually loading the drivers).
So clearly I am missing some step to make the pen drive to boot in UEFI mode but I am not capable of finding out what it might be.

We have just received one out of the six servers we ordered from HP. All of these servers are DL380 Gen 10 servers (Product Number BD505A 0D1). Since we have not yet received our KVM consle so we just connected the VGA port provided at the back of the server to a Siemens monitor that is available to us at current point in time, but unfortunately the server is not rendering any display. We have already connected the same monitor to other sources and it is working fine. Could this have something to do with any software/hardware upgrade in Gen10 Servers? An alternate solution here would be to simply access ilo5 but at the moment after connecting my laptop to this server via ethernet cable, i am unable to access ilo (169.254.1.2) over the browser regardless i assign the same LAN IP to my laptop or not. There are no alarms on the server, i have green stable LED's and it is very clear that the server does send some output to the console (monitor) as it detects input and goes from standby mode to active blank screen. Kindly help or please guide me regarding any work around if some one is facing the same issue already.

i have generation 10 server and if i try to install windows on it through F10 Cycle. and select assised install. it worked. but when i try to insert the media in DVD Rom and try to install windows manually it dnt show me
hard disk . and i was also trying to restore backup on new server through Backup recovery media it failed to detect har drives. i did nt find any answer for this reason. why this G10 server are having issues or any thing new it has which i dnt know. please help and advise.i have to fix this issue through manuall installation.

I´ve one DL 380 G8 with two cages, first one connected directly to P420i original controller, and second cage connected to a P420 controller connected at riser Slot 3 PCIe. O.S. is Vmware ESXi 6.0.0, a few days ago all virtual machines using Datastore of cage two, was without contact, after one reboot with error reporting cache module, and other second boot hardware starts disks at cage two. They have enought time to migrate VM´s.
Now at ILO views System Information->Storage Information, as picture shows the controller at slot 3 P420 is ok at Status, but it is red at Cache Module Status as "Failed", my first action was change the battery capacitator, they change it yesterday at afternoon but status is the same at report !
Obs.- Raid is also degraded for this cage
Can anybody help me ont this error? I also noticed something about PSU´s generating this situation, this DL380 G8 have P420i dor first cage and P420 for second cage and works fine near one yar and half without any error, PSU´s are reporting normal condiction.

After the last power failure my server will not start, I still get the recovery mode, but I can not do anything there because I can not see the hard drivers (partition), it seems to me that there are no Raid drivers in the system or files are corrupted. I tried to boot from the windows server installation CD to run cmd and try to repair, but from this point also does not see the hard drive because there is probably no driver. Where can I download the driver? I only see Linux drivers on the page https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home/driverHome?pmasr=0&sp4ts.oid=5449156. I will just add that i have raid 1 , hard drivers are witohut bad sectors.

I've just done a P2V from a Windows 2003 prolian server to a vmware virtual machine.

I've also uninstall manually some application (via Add/Remove programs).
After having done that, I've stil the following services on my virtual machine :

Can you help me to properly remove all the HP agent from the virtual machine ?

We are currently testing a storage cluster setup involving the use of RDMA(RoCE) Feature of the network adapters. We have 3 Gen9 Servers equipped with HPE NC546 SFP+ Network adapters - but we would like to integrate Gen8 Servers into this system and there does not seem to be any supported network adapter that supports RoCE for Gen8.
Will HPE NC546 Adapters work in a Gen8 server? At least those machines have PCIe 3.0 x8 Slots available...

I don't know nor active warranty nor support agreement of this server to download ROMPaq.
Could you help me upgrade bios version?
