RAID is created from 2 SSD disks, on the front ponele there is no indication of HDD activity. Only the RAID sign is lit.
I wanted to know if I have a blade in one enclosure and then I remove this blade from present enclosure and then place it in new enclosure then will I have to again assign a new profile to server.
Can we use old server profile by unassigning the hardware from profile and after it gets placed in new enclosure then again assigning it to hardware.
I want to know how the OneView segregates the hardware types, like we have Gen 9 and Gen 10 servers in hardware in our enviornment.
If we see in server hardware type, its Gen 9 1 , Gen 9 2 , Gen 9 3 or Gen 10 1 , Gen 10 2.......
How it is defined here?
Dear All,
I came across an interesting issue when I installed HPE STK v. 11.20 (Scripting Toolkit) to automate servers deployment.
The server hardware is HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 with two network cards :
SOLARFLARE FLAREON ULTRA SFN8522-PLUS NETWORK ADAPTER PCIE 3.1 X8 10 GIGABIT SFP+
After starting the HPE STK boot image from PXE (Linux installation) the network devices are not present.
For networking we use only Solarflare cards. The internal 1Gb Ethernet controller is disabled.
The lspci command shows the cards present, but "ip add" or "ifconfig -a" show only localhost interface.
The HPE STK User Guide tells to use ./loadnet.sh script but the output of this command is that the interfaces were not found. The sfc module is not loaded.
Do I need to build my own kernel (vmlinuz) and new initrd and add hp tools to it, or am I missing something?
This seem to be a drivers issue to me. Any hint would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg
Hello, I am working with the HPE XL170r Gen10 servers. I'm attempting to enable the virtual technologies in the bios, however, the options are grayed out. Please advise.
We've purchased a few Proliant ML110 Gen10 servers and notice quite an increase in the fan noise over the previous Gen9's.
We have installed secondary Graphics and network cards and have installed the additional fan and baffle kit.
We've looked at the BIOS updated the iLO but their still quite loud, not excessively but enough to annoy other people in the office.
Does anyone have any suggestions that could help lower the fan noise without putting it in something.
Many thanks,
Took over a project from a previous employee, so I don't have much background info.
This ia a 2-processor system that they added HDD's and memory to (I checked and the HDD's and DIMM's are compatable with the system). I had to re-configure the DIMM's.
When I power the server the monitor remains blank but does get a signal. The Processor LED's both remain amber starting at the initial power-on. No other LED's are lit.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Hello!
I'm having an issue with an ML350e v2 gen8 that I received to setup, but I'm trying to install Windows Server 2019, and it doesn't see the disk/array. This server has 2 phisical 300Gb SAS disks and 1 logical disk in RAID 1 out of those two. For comparison, I've installed the same Windows (via a bootable USB) in a DL380p gen8 and it worked just fine; the only significant difference I see between the two servers is that the DL380p comes with Smart Array P420i, whilst the ML350e comes with DYNAMIC Smart Array P420i and I'm not sure what the difference is.
I've already tried deleting and recreating the array, running the OS installation from the HP utility tool or from the boot up.
Please let me know hnow can I get the Windows installation program to see the logical disk so I can install it. I have a growingly inpatient client waiting for this.
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
Would someone please be able to give some advice about what cable(s), if any, are needed to add a P440ar controller to a DL380 Gen9 server?
Thanks!
HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen9, does not recognize hard drive when try install W2019 svr X64
where can i get the HD driver
Hi. we have several Dl 360 g10 HP servers with 534FLR-SFP+ 10GB cards aboard. Having little budget to built 10gb LAN i want to pick up this swithes SG350XG-24F-K9-EU. Unfortunatelly, HP doesn't offer an appropriate same price analog, only HPE 1950 12XGT 4SFP+ but it has only 4 SFP+ ports.
My question is will HPE adapter works with Cisco SFP-H10GB-CU3M cable. As far as i know, adapter doesn't care what DAC is plugged in but the swtich does.
I've found some topics on this theme here. One was helpfull but still need extra confirmation to be sure.
Thanks.
Hi Guys
I am trying to install the HP SUM onto one of my customers ML10 Gen 9 servers, so that i can upgrade the firmware of the server. When i go to install, i get the error that i am unable to communicate with the ILO channel interface. Is there a way to run this software without it looking for the ILO Channel, as i do not have one on this Server.
I used to be able to go into the BIOS on my ProLiant ML350 Gen9 server and disable the "Virtual Install Disk." However, that option has apparently been removed.
Now, when I install Windows, I am stuck with another Disk in Windows.
Has anyone found another way to remove this so it doesn't show up as a Disk in Windows? I've already tried downgrading the BIOS to version 1.20...and tried each version all the way up to 2.00 (per HP Support), but, I always get the 275 error stating that the processor is not supported.
Not sure why they would remove that option, as this is kind of annoying.
I did go through Disk Part and select the volume and remove all, but it just comes back after a reboot.
Thank you in advance.
Hey Guys!
We have a problem and I already invested some hours to resolve it but unfortunately I can't fix it without help.
We have an MDT 2013 with Windows 8, Windows 10, Server 2012 and Server 2016. Every task sequence (we also have Win 10 1703 / 1803 / 1809) works fine with virtual machines. But when it comes to Windows Server 2012 and 2016 with physical servers from HPE we run into an error after deploying it. If we install the host system with a CD it works flawlessly.
We are using HPE Servers such as ML350 Gen 10 and want to deploy the host system (hyper v) also with the MDT but this doesn't seem to work. When we install the host system with a windows cd it works without any problems and later we can just run the MDT task sequence with Server 2016 for the virtual machines without problems. So it is just the physical server which doesn't work.
I am currently testing the deployment with a ML380 Gen 10. The server has a raid controller where a RAID 1 with 2 x 240 gb ssd is configured for the windows system (we didn't create the raid partitions for the data yet). I already tried to change the storage controller to Smart Array Raid SW support in bios and back to SATA AHCI without any effect. The RAID 1 is also configured as boot partition in the BIOS.
I thought that maybe something is wrong with the drivers and I just downloaded and imported them to the MDT (for every single server model we sell). I added the "inject driver" to the task sequence in Preinstall --> Refresh only with selection profile "Windows Server 2016" (where I imported all drivers for the servers) but this didn't work either....
The deployment or the install of the operating system itself runs without problems.. just right after it finished installing and it wants to restart it shows the loading bar of windows and after some seconds it shows a BSOD with "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE".
I already asked in the MDT forum from Microsoft but it seems like there is no one who can really help. What I checked so far:
-BIOS settings
-Boot partition format (MBR, GPT)
-Setting the RAID1 SSD as boot partition
-Adding the drivers by model name into the deployment sequence (I downloaded the drivers directly from HPE (for example the ProLiant ML350 Gen10 storage drivers) (Scenario 3 : https://deploymentresearch.com/Research/Post/325/MDT-2013-Lite-Touch-Driver-Management)
Has anyone of you an idea how I can fix this? If you need any further informations just tell me and I will add them to the topic.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Everyone,
As per HPE Scripting Toolkit 11.20 Release Notes, the HBA management cli commands are now gone.
If HPLPCFG and HPQLAREP are not there anymore, how can we automate the LUNs setup with STK?
Release notes also mention that STK version 11.20 has got a new conrep for Gen10 servers, however I see no HBA/WWID configuration in the conrep.xml file.
With a view of deployment of another 300 Gen10 hosts any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg
Hello,
We have an Overprovisioning problem with our HP Storage Works P4300 G2 SAN Storage System.
The system is connected via ISCSI to 2 HP ProLiant ML350 G6 Servers running XenServer 7.0.
Free disk space has shrunk a lot in the last 6 months.
The current employment rate is 94%.
In reality, the space used by the application servers is lower than that used on SAN.
On the application servers are visible three volumes where the total sum reaches about 4 TB instead of SAN are allocated 5.6 TB.
On SAN there are three volumes, two of which have the provisioning space lower than the consumed space.
How can I reduce the overall occupied space and lower the occupancy rate?
Thanks for your suggestions, they are welcome !!

Hello dear community,
I've a problem with my server.
I've DL360 Gen9 with two sockets (Xeon E5-2690 v4).
Now I'm trying to expend the memory ( 8 * 16GB = 128 >>> 192 GB) with 2 x 32 GB bars.
After I studied the guide "HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 Server - Configuring Memory" , I pluged in the two bars in slot 11. But after starting the DL-server, I'm get this messege in iLO:
"POST Error: 207-Invalid Memory Configuration - Processor 1, DIMM 11 incorrectly installed. Please refer to Memory Population Rules in Documentation. This Memory will not be utilized."
"POST Error: 207-Invalid Memory Configuration - Processor 2, DIMM 11 incorrectly installed. Please refer to Memory Population Rules in Documentation. This Memory will not be utilized."
Here in attachment a screenshot of my memory configuration. What is my mistake? Does I've got to less bars (4x 16 and not 2x 32GB)?
Thanks a lot for any help.
