Dear HPE Community,
I am installing "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP3 Installer for SAP Business One" on a "HPE Server Proliant DL380 Gen9".
I am using a DVD containing an ISO image downloaded from https://download.suse.com/Download?buildid=j5aaHMFkICw~
When i boot from this DVD, i am able to start the installation process, i am asked to fill the required information, which i do.
However, when i now click "next" to now complete the installation, the server reboots .
When i now want to reboot from the hard disk, i get the following message below:
can't read ctr while initializing i8042 hp proliant
No caching node page found
Assuming drive cache: write through
How can i be able to resolve this and proceed?
Thanks,
Davis

Hi ;
NIC: HP 10gb 530 sfp+ 2port
I have installed Windows Server 2016 on Server DL380g9. The Windows Server 2016 does not detect the network card, but the BIOS is the network card server. What solution do you have to solve this problem?
Hi Team
I'm looking for an option to fetch Server OS details from the HP ILO using any HP utilities like hponcfg or redfish api
we have a lot of HP H/W Servers which are idle for a longtime. these are not accessible currenlty and can't login each ILO console to get OS details
Thanks

Hi Friends,
New bee here and also for Physical Servers too,
basically we trying to automate the Server deployment task ( Configure the BIOS settings + Configure the RAID 1 + Deploy OS + Deploy the respective Service Pack ) using ( Orchestrator and SCCM )
i would be using SCCM 1810 for the OSD + Serverpack installation part,
i need help with configuring RAID 1 , i found smart array commandlets but i read that they support starting from Gen 10 and not for Gen 8 & 9 , ?
is there any way to achieve this ? if anyone has step by step guide etc please share
any guidence will be highly appreaciated
Thank you !!!

When I'm trying to update some hosts with SUM, I keep getting this error now where before I never did.
Warning: Integrated Smart Update Tools was not running on the OS. If components are selected to install via an iLO install set that require installation in the OS then they will not run unless iSUT or Smart Update Manager are run.
I've been trying to get this iSUT figure out, but the documentation makes no sense. I was wondering if anyone has figured this out on how to get it installed. I've been going through so much documentation but it seems so poorly documented.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I have two ProLiant DL360 Gen10 servers. Both are currently on iLo5 firmware 1.37. I am attempting to update, it appears there is an update to 1.40. I have gone to HPE Support to download the update, but I am very confused on how to install this update. I tried to download the package that shows up under those search results (S independent: RECOMMENDED * Online ROM Flash Firmware Package - HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (ilo5_140.fwpkg))
In order to install this the instructions say:
To flash this firmware package, use the following iLOrest command. See http://www.hpe.com/servers/resttool to download the latest version of the iLOrest tool.
If I try to download this though, there is only a Linux Version and Windows Version, but no Vcenter verion. I haven't worked on HP Servres before, but I feel like I'm missing something. Does anyone have any experience they can share with how to update the iLo Firmware in this setup? I have read and watched youtube videos when using Windows servers, but can't find much for Vcenter.
Thanks You.
Hi,
I'm going to prefix this by saying this server is used for home NAS purposes and is out of warranty so I don't "care" about HPE support.
I needed more disk slots than this server provides so I have transplanted the internals into a much bigger case (11x 5.25" drive bays with 3x 5-in-3 hot-swap caddies) and added 2 HPE H240 HBAs to connect them all. So far, so good... except the fans.
This server comes with a 92mm rear fan and an 80mm front fan. At least the 80mm one gets WAY too noisy for a home environment plus my replacement case only has mounting holes for 120mm fans. So I tried with Noctua's Industrial 3000RPM 4-pin PWM fan but I get a flashing red light and:
1611-Fan 3 Failure
Fan Solution Not Sufficient
Even though the Noctua has more CFM; 109.8 vs 86.44. I even tried disconnecting the PWM wire so the fan spins at full all the time with no luck, so it seems HP are forcing a minimum RPM on power-on to determine a 'sufficient cooling solution', whch is totally illogical because air flow > RPM!!
So bascially, what 120mm 4-pin PWM fans exist that aren't jet engine noisy and won't stop a ML110 board from booting. Do any of HPE's other non-enterprise servers come with 120mm fans that i could use?
Thanks.
Hi,
When I'm trying to install Windows server 2019 datacenter on a Proliant ML350 Gen10 server using Intelligent Provisioning, the install halt at this error:
x:\windows\system32>hpev CQTESS=
ERROR: deleting EV CQTESS
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<EnvironmentVariables Count="0">
<Environment variables>
x:\windows\system32>exit /b 0
x:\windows\system32>
I got those firmwares on the server:
System ROM U41 v2.00
Intelligent Provisioning version : 3.30.213
Someone knows what causing this to fail?
Thanks

Hi,
We have a Oracle RAC deployment(on OEL 6.4) with two nodes(Proliant Dl360e gen8) connected each other through private LAN through a CISCO mananaged switch.
Recently we have observed that any status change(up/down/freeze) in the Private LAN NIC causes one of the node(standby node) to reboot abruptly.Later we connected the two nodes directly through ethernet cable bypassing the switch and after a while one of the standby node got rebooted abruptly.
We still do not understand the root cause of the problem and looking for some input from this forum.
Thanks in advance.
Hi there,
We have a proliant Gen 8 running 2008 R2 and recently one of the drives failed, so I got a new one but the Smart Storage Administrator software is saying the firmware should be updated from HPD2 to a minimum HPD4 .. problem is the latest one I can find for the drive is HPD2.
Drive: HPE 300GB SAS 6G Enterprise 10K SFF
Model: HP EG000300JWFVB (It says this model is a 12 GBPS but it's definitly 6)
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Dear all,
Who can help with following issue:
unboxed dl360 gen10 server - hpe rapid setup used to create logical drives and OS (vmware) deployment. Everything seems to be ok till the server reboots and start everything over and over again. It seems like there is some kind of overlooked "save all" bouton in order to lock the configuration down... Can someone of you be so kind and try to explain what's going on? Any input is more than welcome!
Thank you very much
Can one move the P822 RAID Controller from an HP DL380 Gen8 and the two external storage enclosures to a new DL380 Gen10? The long term goal is to upgrade the RAID Controller and the older MSA60 and the less older D2600, but for now just want to get them up and running.
I have two servers DL180 and DL 60 with Vmware 6.5 and Vmware 6.0 OS. I want find and monitoring server uptime .
Hello, I work in a small no-profit organization, and we got as a donation an old, but perfectly working ML110 G6 to use in our lab for education activities of unemployed people. Since the orignal owner bankrupt I don't have access to official support or download of stuff like bios update.
I've installed Windows 10 on it and it works flawlessly (with a NVIDIA video card we bought), even if I guess it's supposed to work with Windows Server. Only glitch: sleep is not available neither in start menu nor as an option in power management control panel. Tried as usual under "choose what power button does" and I have only "fast boot", "hybernate" and "lock". It's weird because I can hybernate without problems, but not put the machine into sleep.
I've installed latest video card drivers as suggested elsewhere, but nothing changed.
Is there some driver I can install to fix it, or is it an hardware incompatibility because it's a server?
It's not a major issue, we can live without it especially because hybernation works, but if it possible I'd like to fix it.
Thanks in advance!
