I'm trying to install an operating system to my B120i Raid array.  When I enter the Smart Storrage Administrator all three array controllers and drives show up. When I boot from a Bootable drive when I get to the part where I need to slect the drives to install the operating system both P420 arrays are avialible but not the B120i. I have tried to download all the drivers without any luck.

Thanks in advance for any help

David

Issues getting into Intelligent Provisioning - DL360E (Gen8)

Hi all,

I'm currently having problems booting into Intelligent Provisioning, I've attempted to re-install using the recovery media (v1.71) and had no luck. Each time it attempts to re-install I'm met with 'Error flashing the NVRAM'.

From there, I've used the service switch with reboot which hasn't changed anything along with flashing the NVRAM via the ILO.

Within the ILO when I check the ILO health I can see; "Controller firmware revision 2.10.00 Embedded media initialization failed due to media write-verify test failure".

Finally, I've installed the latest SPP available to see if this would fix, but also to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HPE Proliant DL20 NIC 2 Unplugged

I have a ProLiant DL20 GEN 10 server using Windows Server 2016 Standard OS. The server has 2 NICs. iLO is configured with IP Static: 15.10.254.11. Then in Windows Embedded LOM 1 Port 1 with IP Static: 15.10.254.12. Everything went smoothly. After I connect the LAN cable to NIC 2 (Embedded LOM 1 Port 2), the cable is Unplugged. I think maybe a bad LAN cable. But after checking, it turns out that the cable is good. Does the iLO port have to be disabled so that both NICs can be used?

Note:
Once plugged (on NIC 2), I set IP Static: 15.10.254.13, but it can't be accessed (it doesn't point to the host).

HP Proliant ML370 shutsdown unexpectedly

Hi,

We have this HP Server (mentioned in subject) running in Windows Server 2003. For the past several years, it's been working without any issue, until recently (a few months back) when we transferred to a new office, our server shuts down causing our work to be interrupted (minimal).

Based from the LED indicators - PPM 1 has an Amber light and Internal Health LED is flashing red which means System Health is critical.

Now the issue is, given that PPM is Amber, based on information on manual, it is assumed to be "failed", so we bought a new PPM module.

Now we installed the the new PPM (same model part btw).

Still we're experiencing the same problem, PPM LED is Amber and Internal Health LED is flashing red.

Please help guys. TIA!

Would love to know What the warranty cover on HPE DL360 Gen 9 Server

I just purchased an HPE DL360 Gen9 E5-2620v4 1P 16G Svr/TV server and I would love to know what the warranty entails and what the warranty covers. I checked the HP support website and it was not really clear and detailed. I would love to see more of what it covers. I would love to get more information if it covers the motherboard, the hard drives, the power supply units and much more.  Expecting feedbacks

F10 and ILO Reset does not work for DL320 G8 v2

Hi,

i has a "special" DL320 Gen8 v2 server in our lab which i can not start the intelligent provisioning tool. I see a blinking cursor but after 10s the machine starts to boot from other devices (cdrom,hdd...)

I read a lot in the forum how i can flash the nvram but this did not work for me either.

A allready upgrade the SSP on the blade machine and install the last ILO version 2.27.

- I try to flash the NVRAM by Recovery Media (HPIP171.2019_0220.23.iso & HPIP163.2016_0720.i192.227.iso) both of them fails with the same message - NVRAM Flash failure.

- flashing the NVRAM by HPONFCG Tool (hponcfg - linux) the reset command (-r) works fine for me but did not solve the problem.

- flashing NVRAM by HPONCFG and XML file stucks after command was typed and executed a temporary xml config file will be created but then nothing happens afterwards

- manually installing the provisioning version from rpm manuelly in linux works but did not solve the problem

Is there anything i can try more or do i have to assume that the ILO Chip is broken?

Write Back Cache Battery for ML150 Gen9 + Smart Array P440

Hi there,

ML150 Gen9, Smart Array P440, cache battery model # 727258-B21 and the following POST error messages:

313-HPE Smart Storage Battery 1 Failure - Battery Shutdown Event Code: 0x0400

1797 Write Back Cache Backup Previously Falied. Caching is disabled. Action: Replace the Cache Module

We updated the firmware, BIOS, iLO, P440 firmware with "P19089_001_spp-2019.03.1-SPP2019031.2019_0425.6.iso" with no luck. Also tried to "re-enable cache module" using the array configuration utility that returned with a "operation failed, unknown error occurred".

Then we ordered new "Model: 727258-B21 (iLO) / 727260-002 (tag); Spare: 815983-001" battery.

Battery replacement did not solve the issue and our server is very slow.

Are the P440 controller and this battery compatible with out ML150 Gen9 server? Or should we order a new battery version, replace the controller, or may be the whole server?

Thanks in advance,

Hugo

DL360 G7 Server Phantom Logical Drive

I am currently working on a DL360 G7 server, in which after a defective system board was replaced, the unit is seeing a phantom logical disk # 2, when there is only one physical and logical drive setup. So far I have cleared out the RAID configuration numerous times, and also secure wiped and re-imaged the HDD. After reboots the system is still reporting a failed logical (phantom drive) and missing 300 GB HDD. There is only one physical 146 GB HDD in the server. Thanks in advance to anyone who may have any insight. I ran a Google search on the subject matter, but came up with no information pertaining to what I am facing.

Hi All,

I got this email alert after I upgrade the firmware using HPE SPP 2019.03.1(4 May 2019)and then followed by iLO firmware 2.70 May 07 2019

POST Error: 338-HPE RESTful API Error - Unable to communicate with iLO FW. BIOS configuration resources may not be up-to-date. Action: Restore Manufacturing Defaults in RBSU.

Upon further digging in the iLO screen and diagnostic info, I can see there is some error message:

Error.pngError in iLO?

How can the error above be rectified?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HP DL380 G6 not loading - two out of six coolers are faulty

Hello! I have a two-unit server HP DL380 G6 (two processors). This server has 6 coolers (hp 496066-001) . Two coolers failed. The server is not loading. Error loading: "1611-Fan 2 Failure 1611-Fan 3 Failure Fan Solution Not Sufficient" and reboot again. After checking, it turned out that one socket for the cooler was also faulty. Thus, even if I replace faulty coolers, I will have five working coolers instead of six. Will the server load and work normally with 5 working coolers? Is it possible to start a server with four coolers? For example, if I turn off one processor?

Is impossible to work in the same room. In the bios I have set the option "Optimal cooling"

Server rebooted

My HP Proliant DL 380 Gen9  rebooted this week, with no reason. It is connected to a UPS. In the log files of the UPS there is nothing to see. In the logs of my server, there was just the power kernel error.

Now the warning led under the power button is blinking.

Maybe a problem with a power source? There ar 2 power sources in my server. Maybe one of them is broken? How can I know that? Is there software where I can see hardware diagnostics?

My server knowledge is not quit high.

Thanks.
