Probleme beim Server HP DL380p Gen8

Hallo Gemeinde,

habe Probleme beim meinen Server HP DL380p Gen8 , der in einen Kritischen PCI-Fehler läuft wenn

ich meine GRafikkarte unter ESXI 6.0 an eine Windows 10 VM durchreichen will.

Install der VM geht , reiche da auch gleich die Grakfikkarte durch , nach einem neustart der VM rast mein Server in den Fehler rein und startet neu durch.

Hab keine Ahnung was ich noch machen soll, jemand eine Idee dazu???

DL560 Gen10 was rebooted often by itself at dawn

Hi Everyone,

We have a DL560 Gen10 that rebooted often by itself, especially at dawn.
In the morning, we checked the Windows Server 2016's event log to find out, what's going on?


In summary, we found that, critical event occured with ID 41 - Kernel Power, and the message was:

"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

 

We also checked in ILO 5 IML, and found that


Class : UEFI

Cause : undetermined

Error
Class : 0x0032 | Error Code: 0x0389


Action: to contact HPE Support, and open a support case, so they'll contact me. (DL560 Gen10's warranty still valid until Dec 2021)

We had already updated the BIOS firmware to the latest, almost anything that has a new firmware, we updated it to to the latest one. And still no luck.

We also checkout MSA 2050's log, APC UPS's log, and found no errors or sort off.

Any idea/ experience with these kind of error?

ILO3 and SNMP

Hello,


I don't know how to configure ILO3 SNMP in order to entered V2 public and access to my monitoring server.
ILO can't connect to monitoring server and I've installed ILO3 latest version.
MIB walker don't work too. OS is an Hypervisor and I can't configure SNMP from OS like Windows Server.

Is there a release note about that issue ?

Cache Module Status failed (battery is ok)

On my HP Proliant DL 380 Gen9 server I have an error.

In ILO on the storage tab, the 'cache module status' is set to failed. However when I look at the HP Smart storage battery the status is ok.

Any suggestions?

ML150 Gen9 - FANS and PSU FAN on when server is shutdown

I recently upgraded one of my lab servers to a ML150 Gen9 and noticed that when the server is shutdown the PSU Fan is still on (iLO says the server is off). Is this normal and apart from turning the server off at the wall is there a way for the server to actually be shutdown i.e no fans, but iLO is still accessible?

Also is is it possible to turn off the full blast (Blow out?) fan noise on system power up/post? I Know it goes away after couple of minutes, but its extremley load for a server in a house:)

DL360P Gen8 - P420i - Controller Lock Up's

Hi folks,

Seen a lot of issues and there sollutions over the last years, but this one is killing me.

Im the private owner of a DL360P Gen8 and while testing this server, all went fine.
When I placed the server in the rack and put hm to work, the issue begon.

Onboard P420i gets different lock up's (0x11, 0x13, 0x14), and I can't see the problem.
Problem occurs when disks get under load (I can reproduce the issue while running a backup).
Devices:
- 2x HPE 6G 100GB SATA SSD (MK0100GCTYU) (RAID 1)
- 2x OEM Seagate 1.5 TB SATA (ST1500LM006) (RAID 1)

RAID sets where recreate, controller is at latest firmware, also is the drive enclosure/drive bay.
No warnings, no errors.

Anyone who can push me to the right direction?
Better: anyone (HPE Employee) who can read-out my ADU?

I'm guessing its a bad cache module, but not sure.

DL380 G5 won't boot past Broadcom NetXtreme II Ethernet Boot Agent

I have an old DL380 G5 that I use for learning and testing purposes, but suddenly it won't boot past the Broadcom NetXtreme II Ethernet Boot Agent v2.8.5.
I then tried transfering CPU's and RAM to an identical server - same problem. 

I cannot access the RBSU even if I press F9, NIC's are integrated, so I don't really know what to do. 

Both CPU's show up fine, all 40 GB of RAM are registered fine, I have a dead disk, but logical drives have been set for this - basically, everything runs fine up until the Broadcom Boot Agent.

Any suggestions?

ML30 Gen10 conversion to 4LFF hot-plug??

I've just received an ML30 Gen10, which turned out to have a plain DIY drive cage for 4 LFF drives. This is a little surprising for a 'server', particularly given that the vendor website showed images of a drive cage with 4 hot-plug LFF drives, and recommended the 861686-B21 hot-swap drive, which I got.

Before I send this back, can anyone tell me if I can just replace the drive cage for a 4LFF hot-swap version? The ML30 options page at HPE doesn't list a hot-swap drive cage/bay, and HPE's drive cage page shows nothing for the ML30.

I'm in the UK. The vendor has offered me £45 cash (55USD) or a £55 voucher, but it seems likely that a drive cage, if there is one, will be at least twice this. Comments welcome.

DL180 G6, Smart Array P212, problem with cache battery

hi
i replaced battery for P212 cache with same part number 460499-001 and same spares number 462976-001 (same battery model, only manufacture date is different)
in ssa i get error:
"The cache for Smart Array P212 in Slot 1 is disabled because one or more attached batteries are not supported by the currently running firmware."
i tried to replace battery with another new one, same result. i tried to replace cache module pn 458943-002, spare 488137-001 (same model) - same result, error. as result: i can use cache only in read mode.

can anyone helps me, please ?

Sorry I wanna ask about DL560 Gen10 temp, especially within I/O Board [51-PCI 3 ] and [47-PCI 1], both in X=11, Y=11 , is it normal to have a 76'Celcius temperature in idle state?

i have configured Dl360 Gen10 HPE server. we have connected ILo cable and its blinking.

 

Able to reach gteway but unable to ping server Ip address from my network.

DL120 Gen 9: Warning Authentication on this drive carrier failed due to a communication error

Hello, I have an issue about DL120 Gen 9 hard drive. I am using Smart Array B140i. My company bought a server DL120 Gen 9 whose drives are SP Solid State Drive 3 years ago. 3 weeks ago, one drive was failed and I replaced that by another same size SP SSD. Unfortunately, I received a warning below:

Warning: Authentication on this drive carrier failed due to a communication error. This may not be an authentic HPE carrier. IO/O operations to the device will not be affected, but the Smart Array Controller will not control LEDs to this device.

I read many guides about troubleshooting gen 9, Server user guide, Quickspecs DL120, but have not figured out a solution. By the way, I want to ask another 1 question:

- What is the consequence if I keep using my server without fixing that warning?

RAID5 disk with Degraded Predictive failure() and Unrecoverable Media Errors Detected on Drives

Hello everyone,

I have a HP ProLiant DL380p, with a RAID5 with 4 disks, where I had 2 logical disks running on those disks. Yesterday, I notice that I had one disk with the followin status: Degraded Predictive failure()

And after that, I check all the Integrated Management Log's, and I check that there was also some other caution warnings, that I dont know if are related with this disk or not, since the number of the slot is different, but since it is placed inside of a RAID5, dont know if the disk that have failed some SMART test is already messing with other disks:

 Regarding the predictive failure disk, since it is a hot swap controller, I think that I just need to replace that disk, by disconnect it and add a identical disk with the same model, to start the replication from RAID5, during production time or not. If its less danger to do it with that server offline I can do it that way.

Resuming, anyone can help with those two doubts?

ML350p gen8 Storage Controller Driver will no install

Good Morning All!

I have an old girl we are trying to get going as a test environment to train people up in. The system will install Windows Server 16 fine. When I boot the machine it will not make it to the login screen with the Smart Array P420i Controller enabled in the bios it stalls on the Windows splash screen with the rotating dots.

If I disable the controller the OS boots fine on the SATA SSD. Problem is when the Storage Controller is disabled it will not install the drivers.

Barks at me "The software will not be installed on this system because the required hardware is not present in the system or the software/firmware doesn't apply to this system. " 

Lastly, I know the controller is good, I have been running a Linux based OS off the raid for almost a year before we decided to make this change.  

Is there a way to force the drivers to install without the device on? Or sideload the drivers? I just need this machine to make it into Windows Reliably with the raid enabled.

Logical Drive Not Visible

I have a new ML 110 Gen 10 server.  2 physical drives on which I have created a single array with 2 logical drives.  One smaller logical drive for the operating system, one large drive for data.  

I used the HPE SMB setup for the operating system which is Windows Server 2019 Standard.  It was correctly installed on the smaller logical drive, but the larger logical drive is not visible to the operating system.  

I've checked in Disk Management with no luck.  I've also used the HPE storage tools to verify that the logical drive is online and has no errors.

Any help on this would be appreciated

Hi , I am trying to install the Drivers for Gen8,Gen9,Ge10 via HPE ProLiant Updates Software Updates via SCCM so far I have enabled Third Party updates and created a custom catalogue and gave Download Url : https://downloads.hpe.com/pub/softlib/puc/hppuc.cab Under Products selected HPE ProLiant Updates ( Firmware Bundles & Software bundles) I can now see under the software updates The Below bundles HPE Windows Server 2019 x64 Software 2019.03.1 , so I create a software update group and right click it and selected download then I get below error error : All software updates in this selection are expired or Metadata-only. The deployment cannot be created did I use the correct url to create the custom catalogue ? what should I do next ? Thank you Tanoj

PCI Bus Error (Slot 0, Bus 0, Device 0, Function 0) logged on stuck reboot Windows Server 2016

Hello, a server DL380 Gen9,  with Windows Server 2016 installed hangs on reboot and only can be started by Cold booting from iLo.

The IML logs Critical errors:

  • PCI Bus Error (Slot 0, Bus 0, Device 0, Function 0)
  • Unrecoverable System Error (NMI) has occurred. System Firmware will log additional details in a separate IML entry if possible
  • Uncorrectable PCI Express Error (Embedded device, Bus 0, Device 0, Function 0, Error status 0x00000000)

FW and drivers have been updated, problem persists.

 

I'v read the forum posts regarding an fix for Windows server 2008 that fixes a stuck shutdown and logs similar messages, but does this apply to Windows Server 2016 as well?
