HPLOCONS with multiple clients?

Is there some way to get the stand-alone remote console working with multiple iLO clients? The problem is that you have to enter a username and password whenever you run it, and you have to exit and change this each time you want to connect to a different system. I'm on Win 10, and downloaded the program from here.

Failing this, is there some way to get the web viewer to actually work? There doesn't seem to be any way to get recent Firefox and Chrome versions to work, and even Edge can't manage it. I even tried installing Java, with no success.

Custom SPP for gen8

When going to Custom SPP site I can't seem to be able to create a custom baseline that would include Gen8 based hardware. Is it not possible to create one anymore? Do I have to take the whole 8.1 package?

DL 560 Gen 10 and problem with RAM

Hello, we have DL560Gen10 server with 4x Xeon(R) Gold 6144 CPU @ 3.50GHz and 48 modules of 64GB @2666LRDIMM DDR4 RAM (p/n 840759-091) and have big problrm with memory moduls on 1-2 CPU,  - some looks like "Present, Unused|", some "Not Present":

System ROM U34 v2.10 (05/21/2019).

HPE service support replased motherboard but not fix this problem... Maybe some one have same problems and you fixed it?  
One question,- HOW?

Hardware monitoring Gen 10 servers with event notifier replacement

Hi all,

we were using HP servers for many years, starting with DL380 Gen6.

Up to Gen9 we were using the built-in tools such as HP event notifier, SNMP service, HP system management homepage, etc. to monitor our hardware and in an event of failure the system sent out an alert email. It was working perfectly!! However, as far as I understand the situation has changed with Gen10 servers. The above mentioned tools aren't available anymore or am I wrong?

What kind of software is now necessary to monitor the hardware? Are there still free tools available? Or do we need an iLo advanced license? Would that already be enough? Can iLo advanced be configured to send an email in case there is a hardware problem? Or do I also need additional server software like a central management software? I have read a lot already about this topic but at the moment I am kind of confused about it.

Oh btw. we are only using Windows Server (2016 + 2019), no Linux etc.

can't boot up the CentOS7 after upgrade the kernel from 3.10.0 to 4.4.189

The CentOS is newly installed with a USB stick. I can get in the Centos7 normally with the default kernel 3.10.0. =================================================

however, after I upgrade the kernel to kernel-lt-4.4.189-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64. 

I restart the system , when Start to boot the OS, it stopped and showing:

[Firmware Bug]: the BIOS has corrupted hw-PMU resources (MSR 38d is 330)

i8042: Can't read CTR while initializing i8042.

I waited for a very long time , the screen changes nothing ,

I had to power off the server , and power on again ,

then on the grub bootloader screen , I choose the lowere 3.10.0 kernel , It works again. ====================================================

Memory Present/unused 10Gen Server

Dear all, 

I've HPE server 10Gen 360. I've 4x16GB RAM, one of them showing "present/unused" when accessing from iLO. any idea what is missing?

troubleshooting: swapped memory locations. but problem still exist.

If this problem is not common, let me know if I need to open a case with HP support,

DL160 with P420 - CACHE STATUS PROBLEM DETECTED

We have som problem with our DL160 Gen8 server with a Smart Array P420 disk controller.
Suddenly it started reporting like this:

root# /usr/sbin/hpssacli ctrl all show config

Smart Array P420 in Slot 2 (sn: PDSXK0BRH6H3EQ)

CACHE STATUS PROBLEM DETECTED: The cache on this controller has a problem.
To prevent data loss, configuration changes to
this controller are not allowed.
Please replace the cache to be able to continue
to configure this controller.
------------------------------------------------

We changed the cache module but the error message is still there.
The server works as normal.

Anyone who has any idea what to do?

3.5' drive cage for ML350 Gen10

Hi Guys

We purchased a ML350 Gen10 server for our office and it came with SFF hard drive cage.  This allows us to install 8 x 2.5" drives.  We want to use 4 LFF drives.  I have spent time with HPE support and looked online but I can't seem to find the exact parts I need.  It is my understadning that I need the following:
1.  LFF Cage
2.  Backplate

3.  Cable 

4.  Drive Caddy/Trays (774026-001)

During my research I was able to find a SKU# 874566-B21 (which seems to fit what I need but I am not sure if this includes the cable.  Also, any part number for the drive trays/caddy?

Anyone has any insight into this?

How often is FWPP updated?

Hi

rsyncing FWPP allows us to keep a good stock of most relevant firmware available internally, but I saw that it lags behind compare to what is available using the web downloads.

Here are 3 examples between FWPP vs. web download:

  • DL380 Gen9 UEFI 2.72 vs. 2.74,
  • Intel NIC firmware 1.17.17 vs. 1.18
  • QLogic NC2 firmware 2.24.15 vs. 2.25.10

Is there anything HPE can share as to how often the FWPP team syncs its repository with the web download sources?

Saludos comunidad. recientemente adquirimos un servidor Proliant Ml30 Gen 10 P06785-S01 ya que el servidor que actualmente trabaja tiene daños que hay que repara. Quisiera saber si podemos instalar windows server 2019 standard sin licencias cal ya que por tratarse de una oficina pequeña y solo se trabaja con un sistema de manera local y la situación que actualmente vivimos en nuestro país no nos permite realizar muchos gastos. Si podemos instalar sólo el windows server 2019 standard con su licencia servidor nos basta. Gracias por su recomendación.

Proliant DL380 G7 Boot error

Hello Experts ,

I am getting "Slot 0 HP Support Array p410i Controller " error when server gets booted and unable to go further from this point.

Exact error message is 1783-Slot 0 Drive Array Controller failure.

[command failure (cmd=0h,err=08h,diu=013)

 

i tried to upgrade the firware version avaialable in hpe sites but no luck.

Can anybody help me to resolve this issue ?

proliant service pack error

I have 2 ML350p gen 8 servers running windows server 2008R2 that i'm trying to update using the last proliant service pack :

P19089_001_SPP-2019.03.1-SPP2019031.2019_0425.6.ISO (5.66 GB)

after inventory , i receive the following warning : 

Deploy may encounter issues due to the following warning(s):

 
Warning - The selected Firmware Baseline is not supported for the given server. It is not recommended to continue with the updates using this baseline. Please select a different supported baseline for this server.
To proceed with the updates using this baseline at your own risk, select Ignore Warnings option.
 
What should i do ?! how to know which updates have the issue ?!

HP ProLiant DL380 G7 (Nvidia GTX 1050ti) DOESNT RECOGNIZE HELP!!!

Hi I have a HP ProLiant DL380 G7. I purchased on EBAY a NVIDIA GTX 1050ti graphics card. I tested the Pci-e port with another graphics card and it displays the output fine. The GTX 1050 graphics card says it needs no extra power it runs under 75w. So I installed with no extra power supply cable. The fans spin on the graphics card when I plug it in and there are no beeps on bootup. There is absolutely no video output I tried on the Display port and Digital DVI output port. I do not have a hdmi cord to try that port. I did no bios configuration and have no idea of how to get this card to work. The riser card was moved to the left side and installed in (Left configuration) since there are 2 spots you can have the riser installed. I put it in the left configuration so I can fit the GTX 1050. What can I do to fix this????? please help

How to remove VID drive in DL560 Gen10

Dear everyone,

We just reinstalled our DL560 Gen10, due to it still keep rebooting randomly.

We installed Server 2016 from Intelegence Provisioning, choosing manual installation, instead of Assisted Installation. For testing purpose, we're not plug-in the any LAN cable/ Internet Cable to the server, so it just DL560 Gen10 with keyboard, mouse, external dvdrom to install. Without MSA, without anything, we unplugged the unused like fibre cables.

After we successfuly installed Windows Server 2016, we found an unknown drive in Explorer, named VID, size 509MB, write protected. We could not remove it, unless we uninstalled it from device manager, named iLO LUN 00 Media 0 USB Device.

Any idea how to remove/ disable it? We read the previous discussion and the RBSU seems different from DL560 Gen10 had.

DL360 G7 pre-POST Problems, accidental short.

Hi all.

So i got this DL360 G7, and after a year of the mind numming drone from the server, I decided to convert it to a tower server and slap in some watercooling.

All went surprisingly well, until i had to extend the SAS backplane power cables, where i accidentaly reversed the wires. (I have fixed the cable corectly)

So now the Health LED flashes Red and nothing on the SID, Starting the system powers it up for a second and goes to standby again, and does this no matter the config, except when no cpu's are present., the fans also spin up for a hot second.

I have exhausted the manuals and flow-charts and the only info that has given me, is that theres a System Board Fault.

So i was wondering if theres any Debug tools or a pinout for the SAS Power cable? i suspect i killed a voltage regulator or something, on the SAS Power Cable im getting 2xGND 1x12v 2x3.3v and a 2.8v??? is the 2.8v correct or should it have ben 5v maybe?

DL360 G7 2x X5650 maxed out with 192GB RAM (Motherboard 602512-001) 2x 460W PSU's (505908-001 Controller)

also, this is a secondhand server i got from a school and being 18 i don't have the money to spend on a new motherboard, so im willing to fix the board myself, and i do have good experience in THT and SMT Soldering.

COPROCESSOR IN DEVICE MANAGER for HPE Proliant ML350 g6

I have an old HPE Proliant ML350 g6 and the only Driver that I need after upgrading to Server 2019 is the Coprocessor Driver. 

I cannot find a driver for the coprocessor, .

I would appreciate if someone could help.
