Converting a DL360 from SFF to LFF drive bays
add 4 more physical disks to my server (Proliant 350p gen8)
I am looking to add 4 more physical disks to my server (Proliant 350p gen8) that already has 4 disks in RAID10. I have seen online others say that in-order to expand the RAID array, it requires a RAID controller battery pack. Is that indeed true? My server does not have a battery pack and want to make sure this will work.
Here is what iLO is showing under storage information:
Controller Status OK
Serial Number XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Model Smart Array P420i Controller
Firmware Version 8.32
Controller Type HPE Smart Array
Cache Module Status OK
Cache Module Serial NumberXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Cache Module Memory 2097152 KB

DL360 G7 Memory speed on 800MHz

Proliant Microserver Gen 10 power off by itself
Hi, I have 2 customer with Proliant Microserver Gen 10 with Debian 9.5. This servers power off himself and I can't understand why. We have 2 hdd in RAID and 1 SSD installed in the upper slot with the S.O. No problem of power in the office, other servers on site don't power off. It is not also a temperature problem. Any suggestions?
mmio / mem BAR setting for dl380p g8 [Solved Ctrl +A ]
[Your bios only has 32bit resources enabled. Try to reconfigure PCIe (mem BAR) address space (MMIO) settings in RBSU/BIOS (something like "MMIO above 4G" or "Above 4G Decoding", or "MMIO base" set to lower value)] Is there any setting or way to fix this or a specific revision of the bios that allows this setting?
[After reading through some other posts I found Ctrl + A mentioned to bring up a hidden menu that has that option in it. the other posts mention ML or SL line but it also works on the DL as well.
HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 - Smart Array P440ar - Cache module status: Failed
Hello,
I have an issue with Smart Array P440ar in HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9
it was started with failure: Smart Storage Battery - I replaced to spare part: P01366-B21
and error with the battery was gone, but still have a Cache Module Status: Failed
Today I made a firmware upgrade to the newest version: 7.00 - Sep 09, 2019 and I still have this issue.
also according to this article this should help me: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c05302924 but unfortunately it doesn't..
Did anyone faced with this kind of problem, I saw o HPE community site that most of the issues were gone after battery change or FW upgrade... but for me, this not solved my problem.

Состояние модуля кэширования - Ошибка
Добрый день!
При работе ProLiant DL380p Gen8 возникла ошибка у модуля кэширования HP Smart Array P420i Controller
На форуме нашёл описание подобной проблемы
В журнале ничего за недавнее время не отображается.
Может ли это быть вызвано только вышедшей из строя батареей или тут что-то другое?

Google Translation:
An error occurred while working with the ProLiant DL380p Gen8 caching module HP Smart Array P420i Controller
I found a description of a similar problem on the forum.

In the journal, nothing has been displayed recently.
Could this be caused only by a failed battery or is there something else?
DL380 Gen9 Embedded diags reports system board failure
I have a DL380 Gen9 that was working fine until I restarted it yesterday. It shut down, but when coming back up it finishes post and starts booting windows, and just about when I would expect to see the HPE logo replaced by a windows lock screen, the screen goes black and post starts all over again.
I've tried everything I can think of from a software angle, dism repair, system file check, last known good config, etc, but I can't seem to get it to boot to windows, not even to safe mode. Even tried restoring the system volumes from the prior day's backup, to no avail.
At that point, I started thinking maybe it's a hardware issue, even though ilo reported everything as healthy. Booted to UEFI embedded diagnostics and ran the quick test, and sure enough the system board test failed with:
Failure ID Q0DBT1-0009P3-WPW6L1-04FB03
Failed Driver: Smart Array SAS Driver v9.62
Failed Controller: Smart Array P440ar Controller (PCIRoot(0x0)/PCI(0x1,0x0)/PCI(0x0,0x0))
Can anyone tell me what that failure ID represents?
Searching for more information, I came across this advisory which could be relevant, but I'm not certain. I did updated the system rom just in case, but the server still fails the system board test.
Do I actually have a hardware failure here, or is this a firmware issue making it look like bad hardware?
Thanks,
Steve

Help with setup - DL360E
Hi all,
I've recently purchased a DL360e second hand. and I'm having problems getting into ILO. At the moment I've tried a few different ways of re-installing and resetting but have had no luck. So far I have tried;
Upgrading ILO to v1.71
Upgrading ILO to v2.50
Upon attempting to boot from USB it scans the system and says 'Unable to flash NVRAM'.
From here, I've attempted to put the system maintenance switch 6 to on, booted and turned off, turned back to off and re-booted with no luck. Along with resetting to system default options to clear the NVRAM. When trying to run the USB again, I'm met with the same message.
I've got two drives in the machine at the moment, and was hoping to use ILO to install an OS, but haven't been able to get that far. Any other suggestions are welcome.
DL380e health
I've been handed the reigns of an old G8 DL380e that runs the office I work at. I found the HP Array Config Utility, which lets me keep track of the drives, and I found the HP ProLiant Integrated Management Log Viewer, which has been helpful (had PSU #2 flaking out and didn't know it until I saw errors there).
Does HP or a third-party company have software that lets me monitor CPU temps and system fan speeds?
I'd like to be able to dig into it a bit more, but everywhere else I turn I need a subscription for this, or a subscription for that.
RAM compatibility with Proliant DL380p Gen 8 server
I have Proliant DL380p Gen 8 server running.
It has 256 GB RAM. It uses HP part number 647653-081 , total 16. Now I need to extend another 64 GB in it.
I have below RAM parts with me:
5 * 16GB 2R*4 PC3L-12800-11-13-E2 HMT42GR7AFR4A-PB T8 AH 1439
4 * 16GB 2R*4 PC3-12800-11-12-E2-P2 M393B2G70QH0-CK0Q9 M 1517
Can I use any of above to my requirement without any performance issues? (or) do I need to go for same HP part?
Thank you for your inputs

Issues getting into Intelligent Provisioning - DL360E (Gen8)
Hi all,
I'm currently having problems booting into Intelligent Provisioning, I've attempted to re-install using the recovery media (v1.71) and had no luck. Each time it attempts to re-install I'm met with 'Error flashing the NVRAM'.
From there, I've used the service switch with reboot which hasn't changed anything along with flashing the NVRAM via the ILO.
Within the ILO when I check the ILO health I can see; "Controller firmware revision 2.10.00 Embedded media initialization failed due to media write-verify test failure".
Finally, I've installed the latest SPP available to see if this would fix, but also to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
