I have DL380 Gen 8 ILO 4 updated to Last Gen8.SPP. it gows down randomly by Power-off signal sent to host sever when open ILO remote console .Net IRC !
no hardware issues. it went into normal shutdown process (OS then host server power off)
The IML log was "Power-off signal sent to host sever by: Admin"
anyone have similare issue?
HI, I need your help with the following:
I have an HP Proliant ML350 G10 with motherboard failure, with a raid 5 (Principal server)
I also have an HP Proliant ML350 G9 in reserve.
I want to know if there is any way to migrate the disks from the ML350 G10 to the ML350 G9 and be able to recover the data
The following workaround exists to passthrough pci device on the ML350 Gen 9 ==> https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c04781229. I am able to passthrough pci devices on all physical pci slots.
How do I successfully passthrough embedded pci devices? I am trying to passthrough the embeddedHPE Smart Array P440ar to a VM.
Currently I get the following error;
Device is ineligible for IOMMU domain attach due to platform RMRR requirement. Contact your platform vendor

Yesterday one of my old servers restarted abnormally.
I found this error in the iLO event log:
"Watchdog reset on Initial, pc 00066184, sp 00524a78"
and two seconds later:
"iLO reset by watchdog."
There is no related error message in the "integrated management log" section.
is there a hardware problem? All of subsystems and devices are normal and OK in the system information.

The system doesn't want to boot up with it though so i am using the one that came up with this server when bought M391B2873EH1-CH9 1GB x 2 what could be the problem? I am quite clueless about these things
Hi Guys,
I have HP DL380 Gen10 Server. There are 2 HDD that are showing continous amber LED light and i believe according to my research these drives have failed. I have since bought the 2 HDDs and replaced then. The problem is the HDD just light up its led lights when you switch on the machinebut after it boots, i believe it should start copying data from the other drives. The drives' LED lights are off and no activity at all. in diagnostics it still shows that drives on those bays failed. please assist.

I would like to know a couple of things about an old DL380 Gen8 server.
How can be verified the type of configuration: either 8SFF Hard drive bays (16SFF with optional upgrade) or 8LFF or 12LFF or 25SFF?
Basically i want to find out how many HDDs can be added to the configuration?

It seens have a firmware version 6.88-0 (6.88?) what does 0 mean?
I searching the whole HPE download center and did not found it. And I also google any words like p420i and 6.88 but still not found any. It is a version call 6.88 but not for the p420i controller. there is a version called 6.68 is for this controller but not mark support pass-through.
it is a mistaken version number?
if there is not can someone tell me how can i download this firmware version or provide this version ?

The Opteron 6300 serires should be compatible with G34 motherboards. Therefore, I wonder if there has been a BIOS upgrade for dl385 g7 motherboard so that the board is compatible with the 6300 series.
I have been on support with HPE mulitple times due to an error in my ILO for my DL380:

They have sent me out two different smart array cards to replace my current on with. After the first replacement the server did not power on at all, all LED lights flashed continuously. The second smart array card they sent me gives the same error as above. They now have sent me out a smart array battery to try chaning out. I have read most online that changing out the smart array battery will not erase the RAID configuration. I am wondering if this is true and if anyone else has had similiar experience like this? Was replacing the battery successful and your RAID stayed intact?

Trying to deploy SPP to my servers with iLO Amplifier Pack. Always fails with the following error:
Non Interactive Update job failed because Stage Failed: Error Message: Unable to mount the specified baseline through iLO Virtual Media due to one or more of the following reasons: (1). The baseline is not accessible. (2) The HTTP server hosting the baseline is busy. Resolution: Verify the specified baseline is accessible, and ensure no other media is mounted through iLO Virtual Media. Retry the operation. If the problem persists, contact your authorized support representative and provide them with support logs.
I am able to mount the baseline using Integrated Remote Console and iLOrest using URI of baseline iso hosted on both iLO Amplifier Pack as well as an external web server.

Hi, recently acquired a DL380 Gen10. We create a RAID5 with 3 logical drives.
When we install the Operating System (Windows Server 2019) through Intelligent Provisioning it only sees the partition or logical drive where the Operating System is installed. Do not see the other 2 logical units. Do we have to activate any option for Windows to see the other logical drives?

i am searching for the "end of (service) life" policy that includes Proliant server from HP.
I don't care about the hardware maintainence (as long we can buy a carepaq) but i care about the security updates. What happens with BIOS etc after the EOSL? Are there any security updates released or is it just not sure if this BIOS is affected by the security flaw?
Btw HPE. If this document is something named with HPE end of life policy then please fix your search. I do not use the HPE search at all because it newer finds the things i am searching for. I use google and site:hpe.com for this

I am new in RAID 5 creation in ML 350gen10 server.I have 4 1TB sas hard disk and i want to create RAID 5. I choose 4 Hard disk in RAID 5 . because i want that parrity will be stored on all drive respectively. so i want to know that there is any wrong to do this process.
I heard that 3 hard disk out of 4 is taken for raid configuration and 1 kept for parrity storage--only this process is right.so i confused about the RAID 5. according to me above all process is correct plz tell me about that ..thanks in advance..

I have had a problem with the ML110 G9 motherboard, and there is a problem in the iLO module, and HPE has decided to send me a new motherboard and make the change.
I have several RAIDs managed from the built-in controller, and I have a P440 hardware controller in which I also have a RAID.
The system is completely updated with the latest SPP, and my question is how to tackle the migration from one motherboard to another.
As for backups, I can only use the backup made by Windows Server 2016, which I don't know how secure it can be. I have a Windows server installed on a 2x250GB RAID 1 managed by the integrated controller. And the P440 hardware controller manages a RAID 5 8x10TB.
What should I do to avoid problems with changing the motherboard and having it all recognized again?

I want to install Windows Server 2016 on HP DL180 G6, but Windows can't detect my HDD. This server support RAID 0 and RAID 1+0. I tested both RAIDs, but Windows can't detect my HDD. Without RAID I have same problem.

Any bios update software for server HP proliant ML 110 G5.
Moreover no software is supporting windows 2008 R2 Server edition.
Suggest best possible remedies.
