DL360p - reason for high FAN speed

$

Hi all,

my DL360p remains at 39% FAN Speed, while another one (also a DL360p - even a more powerful one) goes down to 19% - I would like to know the reason for the higher FAN Speed and how to regulate it down.

Steps I tried:

- Installation of latest BIOS

- Installation of latest Firmwares available (iLO)

- Installation of latest WIndows Updates

- Installation of latest HP Management Software via SUM

- Performing iLO factory reset

The iLO logs do not show any issues and the temperatures are nearly the same...

Any idea?

Cheers,

Matthias

HDD/CAGE/Raid Expenstion in DL G9 srevers

Hello,

Please we have DL G9 sever,  there is already 8 Hdd Drives with one raid controller.

we are planning to expand the HDD.   in order to achieve this we need

one Cage 8 bay, Power cables kit, Sas Cables, Raid Controller, HDD, HDD Blanks, etc....

confusion is :-

Which Raid Controller we should for? AROC? PCI Raid Controller or Raid Expansion card.?

does G9 server comes with on board raid controller card? any idea?  if yes what would be best option for us to have it AROC? PCI Raid controller? or Raid controller pci expansion.

I need a WinPE driver for the Smart Array P816i-a SR Gen10 we have in a new DL380 Gen10 server.

I have tried searching for this but can't find one anywhere.

I have tried insltalling al lthe drivers I can find into the WinPE image but none of them work.

Anyone know where I can find these drivers?

iLO Amplifier Pack - Assets / Servers - Stuck at "Loading is in Progress..."

Hi,

I currently have 40 Servers connected to the iLO Amplifier Pack. But I'm not able to display it over Assets --> Servers. iLO Amplifier Pack just keeps loading. ("Loding is in progress").
Everything else seems to work fine, Reports, Alerts and Event Logs are loading without any issues.

The problem presisted from the beginning, and I already tried to redeploy the VM.
An Update to the newest version didn't solve the issue either. I tried diffrent browsers too.

I'm intrested if someone else is experiencing this issue and if there is a workaround.

Best regards

Runtime Fault server HP Proliant dl380 G10

I have an HP Server dl380 G10, it was working fine for several months, but suddenly it started to shut down by itself at random times, with all the leds flashing for three times which means memory power fault as by the documentation, when starting over the server and running all diagnostics for the memory and HDD they all are passed, stress test is passed for 48 hours, but the server still crashes at random time, from the iLO 5 the reported error is under BIOS/HARDWARE HEALTH which is always green and OK unless when the server is crashed it gives the System Error:

Server Critical Fault (Service Information: Runtime Fault, Memory, Processor 2 Memory Channels 1-3 (04h))

I have only one Memory DDR4 size 16GB located on Processor 1 DIMM 8

I have only one processor (Processor 1)

The fault message says processor 2 channels 1-3 and those are all empty.

Searched a lot but no help,

I would appreciate any help or idea about this issue.

Thanks in advance.

DL 585 Support for RHEL 7.5+

I had some basic questions about the DL585 G7 support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Based on this document the DL585 G7 has support for RHEL 7.

https://downloads.hpe.com/pub/softlib2/software1/publishable-catalog/p900051008/v138546/Post_Prod_G7_SPP_Server_Support_Guide.pdf

However when I check this document the HPE Service Pack support is up to RHEL 7.5.
https://downloads.hpe.com/pub/softlib2/software1/publishable-catalog/p177230449/v138524/SPPOSGuide.pdf

If we install RHEL 7.6 or above on a DL585 G7 will be in a configuration which is supported by HPE?

Hello all

I'm almost bald from pulling my hair out for the last few hours.

Almost identical to this post from 2015 https://community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/Can-t-configure-RAID-on-ML10-v2-B120i-controller/td-p/6755096#.XfGIq5P7TOR when booting my ML10 v2 and pressing F5, I get a confirmation that F5 has been pressed and the ACU will lbegin to load. However instead of loading, it just continues to boot from the controller in to an old version of 2008 R2. I want to be able to trash the array and start from scratch.

After reading the linked post, I have tried all means of getting to the config utility. I have downloaded multiple versions of SSA and burning them to USB using the HP USB Key Tool v2, v3 and even Rufus. Every time it completes successfully but the server just doesn't want to boot to it, skips past it like there is nothing to boot then boots the controller in to the old Windows install.

I then also tried to update the firmware using the online tool and the flash-key tool. The online tool (while logged in to 2008 R2 just installs but goes know where, can't find it in program files or any other folder on the server. The USB boot way also just doesn't want to boot.

I can confirm USB boot is working because my Windows server 2019 USB works (made with Rufus and set to BIOS/UEFI non CSM) and I'm able to load the set up, load the B120i drivers and install on to the array.

However, my end goal is to install Server2019 on to the SSD (SATA connected) and have the old array (SAS) as my data volume. However to do this I have read that I need to create a new RAID0 volume in the array for the single SSD and to make it the primary boot device. Since I can't get in the ACU or SSA I'm really stuck.

I'm really hoping someone can help me with this as I've wasted many hours today just watching the server boot over and over.

If you need more information, please let me know.

Thank you all in advance.

iLO Amplifier Pack (1.55) not receiving ANY alarms from iLOs

Hi all,

I've recently spun up a iLO Amplifier Pack VM to test alarming & integration to our ITSM tool (ServiceNOW) via the REST API.
I have successfully pointed iLO amplifier at our ServiceNOW instance (using the RedFish API), but I'm struggling to generate any alarms at all.

I discovered a ProLiant DL360p Gen8 in iLO amp and began pulling power, network and disks, even powering the server off completely and got 0 alarms...

Am I doing something wrong here?

I also tried to trigger a test event via the RedFish API (docs) but I just keep getting 405 - Method Not Allowed.

Any help is appreciated!
Cheers,
Ryan

Upgrade Intelligent Provisioning to 3.40 on ML350 Gen10

I've downloaded IP340.2019_1106.196.iso and made a bootable USB key from it and booted my ML350 Gen10 to upgrade IP 3.30.213. Sadly it won't start the flash process as it claims that my iLO 5 firmware is too old. I'm running iLO 5 1.46 and I see nothig more recent for iLO 5.

Ideas welcome.

Thanks,

Filip
