DL360 Gen9 - Internal Storage Enclosure Device Not Authenticated As Genuine

Hello,

Since we updated every firmware using HP SSP (P26940_001_spp-2020.03.0-SPP2020030.2020_0319.22.iso) we started receiving this error for 2 drives. 

"Internal Storage Enclosure Device Not Authenticated As Genuine"

The configuration is :

Smart Array H240ar with 4 drives. Only 2 have the "Not Enthenticated as genuine" error...

i tried to Downgrade the Firmware of the smart array, but the problem still the same.

Currently all the firmware have been updated to the latest version with the HP SSP 2020.03.0.

What should i do to resolve this issue ?

HP Smart Array P410i "Saving Configuration..." Taking Forever

Howdy, 

Decided to purchase an HP DL380 G7 off of eBay some time ago. It worked all right. I decided to swap out all of the drives for larger capacity ones, but when creating a logical drive in RAID 10, it gets stuck on "Saving configuration." 

The drives are 600GB each, with a total of 8, so I don't think it should take days to complete.

system: ESXI 6.7 u3

我升级到了2019年最新的bios固件，并在bios中开启了所有虚拟化选项包括vt-d

测试了包括HP NC365T网卡以及使用intel I350芯片的网卡、intel 82576GB网卡，这些网卡在ESXI 6.7 u3中可以识别，也可以使用，但无法使用pcie直通功能。当激活pcie直通并开启绕过acs检查选项后，将直通的设备分配给虚拟机，虚拟机内核崩溃无法启动，错误提示联系生产商。

依然无法使用pcie网卡设备直通

更换到linux下使用kvm也无法直通

Set a HDD LED from Redfish

I'm pretty sure this isn't possible, but...

We would like to be able to set a HDD LED indicator from Redfish on a Gen10 DL380.

We use Redfish extensively for server management. Currently we are having to replace a significant number of failed HDDs and it would be helpful if we could set the LED for the drive to help the technician be sure of pulling the correct drive.

The closest I can get to making this happen is a post that talks about using the Array Configuration Utility. This post is from 2009 and running a Windows based tool is not an option for us.

The LED state is exposed by the IndicatorLED property of a HpeSmartStorageDiskDrive but that's a read-only property.

Is there any way to set it using Redfish? Failing that is there a way of doing it without physical access to the server?

Hello all!

I've got a HP Proliant ML30 Gen 9 with 4GB DDR4 UDIMM ECC and I need to upgrade to 16GB. I can get in my city provider only a DELL 2x8GB DDR4 UDIMM ECC

 

Dell Memory: Type RAM Capacity 8GB Technology DDR4 UDIMM Speed 2666 MHz Data Integrity Check ECC Tension 1.2V

 

The question is: Could I put this DELL memory on my server? 

Note: Is out of warranty. 

Ps: Sorry for my english, I'm not native.

HP Proliant DL360 G7 System Board Upgrade Caused Fans to "Fail"

I swapped out the systemboard in my HP Proliant DL360 G7 from the (602512-001 = System I/O board (motherboard) - Uses 90 W maximum processors) to the (641250-001 = System I/O board (motherboard) - Uses 130 W maximum processors). I installed duel x5687 CPU's  and 16gb of DDR3 low power ramm. It is able to make it to post but right before you would be able to enter the bios it says all the fans failed with error 1611. The fans are all clearly spinning, and right when it starts giving errors they all apear to get locked at 100% I tried removing the CMOS battery, but same thing. On the SICD panel all the fans glow solid amber right before it makes it to the post screen. Any help would be appreciated!

Гарантийной поддержки есстественно уже нет - сервак старый !

Загрузил новую прошивку BIOS, перепрошил. Вентиляторы перестали уменьшать обороты - орут во

всю мощь всё время.

Потом просто перестал выходить на POS (пустой экран, на клаву не реагирует) 

и на материМОРГАЕТ LED6 (около заднего UIDа) и пишит. Ни в одном Maintense guide не нашёл LED 6 !!

Может кто то сталкивался ?? Пожалуйста подскажите.

(уже пробовал оставлять на матери по минимуму, менял плашки памяти - всё то же самое)

Post this in a forums for others to know, there is currently an issue running SUM 8.5 on a Windows 2016 server with "Routing And Remote Access" service running.

The solution is simply to stop the "Routing And Remote Access" service and then SUM starts and the updates can be applied and restart "Routing And Remote Access"  afterwards

Nvme m.2 problem with DL380 gen10

Hi all ,
We had a DL380 gen 10 server and today we bought an NVME M.2 disk ( samsung 970 evo plus ) .
So we installed it on the riser and into the m2 slot but we can’t see it in pci devices and even bios .
Here are our findings :
1. We turned on the S100 smart array and the m2 disk won’t show there .
2.the bios mode is UEFI and no luck again
3.we do install vmware on server and in the installlation we saw other array that they are SAS Disks and we can’t see the m2 device
4. After fresh installation of esxi 7 , we can’t see the nvme in vsphere web client too
So do anyone have this issue or have a solution for it ?

remove hotspare disk and add that to axtend a array with raid 5

hi all,

I have a HP DL380 gen9 server with a Smart Array P440ar/2GB controller.

1 logical drive raid 5 is configured with 3 disk, and 1 hotspare.

Is it possible to remove the hotspare disk and use that to extend my array?

ILO5 firware update fails "the file siganture is invalid"

Hello Experts,

I am trying to update a ProLiant DL385 Gen10 ILO 5 version 1.37 to a newer version 2.14. I have tried many ways but it always ends with this message:

Firmware Upload
The file signature is invalid. Make sure you are using a valid, signed flash file and try again

 

I have already check the file hash SHA256 and it is correct and also used 7zip to unzip the file cp042927.exe

Can you please suggest a solution for this.

Добрый день, преобрели 2 жестких диска HP 2TB 6G SAS 7.2K rpm LFF (3.5-inch) SC Midline 1yr Warranty Hard Drive (652757-B21) для сервера hp proliant ml310e gen8 v2 (768729-421) рэйд контроллер HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i Controller не видит эти диски, как я понимаю HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i Controller не поддерживает диски SAS, подскажите пожалуйста подойдет ли рэйд контроллер HPE Smart Array P420 Controller для этого сервера и для этих жестких дисков?

ProLiant ML310e Gen8 server issue

Hey there so i recently upgraded the HHD'S in my server (Ml310e) and when i booted the screen was tinted to yellow at first i thought night light was on so i went to the settings and it was off then i thought the problem was with the cable or monitor so i hooked another pc to it and nothing was wrong with the screen.

PS: would be helpful if anyone provided the drivers pack for the pc

HPE doesn't seem to have ESXi 7.0 for HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen9. I currently have ESXi 6.5 U3 on my ML30 Gen9 servers. I'm using pretty much stock HPE on my ML30 Gen9 servers, so I would expect ESXi 7.0 to work okay Has anyone tried to update to ESXi 7.0? If so, what iso did you use?
